Turned Out By A Boss(20)
“So because I confide in my mother there's a problem?” By the tone of her voice, it was evident that she didn't care for the conversation as she dressed.
“Yes, because I'm married to you, not your mother. You tell her everything that goes on in this marriage and then she be quick to side eye me like I'm f*cking her and doing her wrong,” he yelled.
Rolling her eyes, Sherika waved him off. “Daryl kill the theatrics. Okay? You may not be f*cking my mom but you f*ck everything else. If you keep your dick in your pants and stop cheating maybe I won't run to my mom.” she screamed.

“Good morning mommy,” Sherika said kissing her mother’s cheek as she walked into the kitchen. Smelling food, she walked around looking at all her mother had cooked.
“Hey, baby. Sit down and eat.”
Sherika smiled as she watched her mother make her a plate of the breakfast she made which consisted of turkey bacon and sausage, cheese eggs, sautéed potatoes with onions and garlic and toast.
She loved coming to her parents’ house because anytime she was there she was bound to get her way. Out of all the siblings, Sherika was favored the most by her mother. Probably because she was the one to take after her looks but even so Sherika loved every bit of the attention she always received.
“What brings you by here this early?” Her mother asked as she sat the plate in front of her and pushed her hair back behind her ear.
“Why you say it like that. I couldn't just come check on my mother?” Sherika smiled giving off a look of innocence.
“Girl please.” Her mother exhaled. “Every time you come it's a reason, but that's with all of y'all and besides I take what I can get with seeing my babies.”
“I'm starting to feel like I'm wasting my time and my life being married to Daryl. Mom I can't keep putting up this front that I'm happy when in reality I'm starting to hate him.” Sherika expressed tears falling from her eyes.
“I would hate to just tell you to give up on your marriage because you put so much into it. How about you guys go sit and talk to someone?”
Sherika rolled her eyes. In her mind, it was no point in trying to fix anything. To her her marriage was like glass no matter how much you tried to fix it and put it back together it would always remain broken. She refused to be like Deena and act as if she didn't know her man was out pleasing other women then coming home as if he did nothing wrong. To add insult to injury every time they'd have a sit down and vocalize how they both felt about something. More problems always seem to be brought up. Every time she though ok just maybe I'll stay. Daryl found a way to f*ck it up and change her mind yet again.
Sherika was tired of sitting pretty and acting as if she didn't know what was going on with her husband and probably being the joke of everyone. It was time everything was laid out on the table no matter who feelings got hurt.
“I feel like fighting for my marriage would be like fighting a losing battle.”
“You can't blame that boy, Sherika. Whatever he's done you've pushed him to it. I remember that baby professing his love to you daily and begging you to start a family with him. What did you do? Huh? You spat in that boys face.” her mother chastised.
“I did not spit in his face.” Hearing her mother exaggerate what happened was aggravating her.
“Hell, you might as well have. You told that boy you had a business to run and wasn't no snotty nose babies gon’ slow you down. Talking about you would die if the lord blessed you with kids by him because of his disorder.” Sherika began to think maybe she was wrong and did play apart in his cheating.
Seeing Daryl and just getting to know him you wouldn't expect that the junior partner at the law firm was bipolar. He controlled it so well and made sure to stay on top of things when it came to his medicine. Yet, Sherika still wouldn't give him the only thing he wanted…. kids. She felt as though they would be diagnosed with bipolar disorder and she couldn't handle crazy kids not to mention it'd be a bad look for her.
“So because I chose not to get pregnant by him and give in to his wants. That gives him the right to stick his dick in other females. Huh, is that what you're saying, mother.”
“Watch your mouth, I'm still your mother.” Sherika rolled her eyes.
“I'm not defending him nor do I agree with what he's put you through, but you have to admit you have not made it easy for that man.”
Arguing with her mother about her husband’s infidelities wasn't something she planned on spending her day doing. Advice can be given by anyone but until that person has been in your shoes, whatever being said really didn't matter. And that's just the way Sherika felt about the situation. Not to mention every time she brought it up to someone Daryl was always so easily defended.
“So did you know Denim had the baby.” she asked changing the subject.
Seeing the surprised look that come across her mother’s face she knew that Denim didn't even have the decency to call her own mother.
Trifling bitch, Sherika thought but chose to keep it to herself.
“I'm a grandma.” her mother squealed.
Sherika rolled her eyes because even though Denim didn't think to let any of them know. Her mother still was happy. She watched her mother race around the house to get dressed and make her way to the hospital.
