In Spite of the Bosset Life(49)
“No Ace,” I said, sleepy like.
“Stop crying girl. I’m just moving her over. Now you move over, so I can lay down.” Ace climbed in the bed and got extremely close to me. My hands were wrapped around my daughter and I stayed cuddled up next to her. Ace was behind, cuddled up next to me. “Why we gotta fight? I’m not mad and I don’t want you to be. Rules still apply. We said we wouldn’t go to sleep mad. You love to sleep on my chest at night. Remember how you use to sleep with that one leg over me? Now, you don’t want to be next to me. That’s how I know you mad. Well night...I love you. Just know I’m not mad and I’m sorry for storming out,” said Ace, kissing my neck and ear. His hand crept in between my legs. He didn’t do anything. He just wanted to rest his hands in my panties. Something he did all the time.
“Ace, I’m not mad. A little disappointed, yes. I don’t want to fight with you. It hurt my feelings when you get mad and start talking to me like I’m a child. I’m your wife. Respect me, even when you’re mad just like you do when you’re happy. I don’t even feel like you’re the same Ace when you do dat. I wouldn’t have never talked to you three years ago if you was going to treat me like dis. All I ask is dat you talk to me like you got some sense. Just like I tell you everything, you should tell me everything. It shouldn’t be forced. You should want to be open with your wife. I didn’t marry you just because. I married you because I loved you and wanted to be more than your best friend. Ace, I’m really tired and I wish we could hash things out tonight but I have to go to sleep. Them pills-”
“Fine. It’s okay Mook. I know.” He kissed my ear and held me tight. “As long as we not going to bed on a bad note. Gon head and go to sleep. We can talk later,” said Ace, whispering. I did just that. I closed my eyes and went to sleep.
Chapter 21
By morning, we were sleeping crazy. I was at the bottom of the bed stretched across. Pillows covered the floor and covers too. Majesty was using my leg as a pillow and Ace’s head was laying on my ass as if it was a pillow. Majesty was the first to get up. She made a point to wake me up.
“Ma Ma. Wake up,” said Majesty, as if I wasn’t supposed to be sleep. “Up MA MA!”
“Majesty, don’t wake yo Momma up. Let her sleep. Get out our room,” said Ace, with his mean ass. I could hear but my body was still asleep. I knew Majesty was probably pouting. I could hear her little feet going to the door. She shut it and the room was silent. Ace took this opportunity to pull my shorts down. That sure woke me up. He rolled me over on my back and I lifted my hand up for him to stop. I shook my head no.
“What’s wrong?” asked Ace, trying to see what the problem was. “Mook Mook, look at me.” I leaned over the bed and vomited all on the floor.
“Ace,” I said crying. I hated throwing up. It hurt my stomach so bad. I grabbed onto the bed and threw up even more. It was coming out like a faucet. I felt so drained that I couldn’t attempt to get to the bathroom. Ace pulled my hair back. He waited until I was done and carried me to the bathroom. He wiped my face and ran me some bath water.
“Open up. Stop playing,” said Ace, trying to stick the toothbrush in my mouth. He was holding the back of my head and making sure he brushed my teeth good. “Say cheese,” said Ace, so he could brush my teeth. I hardly opened my mouth, not really in the playful mood. “Say Ahhh,” said Ace smiling. I stuck my tongue out and flicked him off with my middle finger. “Say AHHHH!”
“Umph!” I had a mouth full of toothpaste, mad as hell.
“Mook Mook, you better say AAHHHH!”
“AHH,” I said, opening my mouth. I was so mad. Ace brushed my tongue a little more until he was satisfied. I then spit all the toothpaste out. He kissed my lips and undressed me.
“You feel okay? I have to go clean that stuff up,” said Ace, like he was really worried.
“No. I’m pregnant. My stomach hurts,” I said, getting in the tub. He just stared at me. He saw my hair getting wet and pulled it into a ponytail. He kissed my lips and disappeared out the bathroom. I stayed in the tub for about an hour. I felt so nauseated. I was scared to get up. I finally got the strength to. I dried off and put my robe on.
“Dr. Edmonds said we can come in today. Those sleeping pills needed to be updated because you got them proscribed when you was pregnant last time. The dosage needs to be change.” How you feel?” asked Ace, rubbing my flat stomach.
“I’m fine. I just want to lay down boo,” I said, getting in the bed. Ace put the warm blanket over me. “Turn the ceiling fan on. I’m hot as hell,” I said, squeezing the pillow. Ace did so and left for a brief second. He came back with some water and my daughter.
“You see. Ma Ma alright. She’s okay,” said Ace. I guess she was peeping in our room when I was throwing up. She looked down at me like yeah okay. I saw my momma throwing up.
“Hey Smoochie angel. You was scared? Ma Ma okay,” I said smiling. She reached down to give me a hug and a kiss. “I love you Smoochie.”
“I wuve you too, Ma Ma,” said Majesty, leaning her head on her daddy.
“Ace, can you make her breakfast?”
“Already on it. You just rest and we’ll be doing our own thang in the living room. The appointment not until later, so you have time to chill. Go back to sleep if you can,” said Ace, turning the light off. Majesty was waving bye bye as Ace shut the door. I laid in the fetal position for hours. I felt so sick and didn’t want to do anything. Ace came checking up on me every so often. Once Majesty had dozed off, Ace came back in the room.
