In Spite of the Bosset Life(45)

“Okay, I love you.”

“I love you the most,” said Ace, touching my nose.

“No, you don’t.”

“What time you coming?”

“Soon as I can, bae,” said Ace, turning on the shower. I went to lie down with my daughter for a few minutes. I turned on Bubble Guppies and joined my husband in the shower. We talked about what he planned to do and what was next. My husband calmed me down about everything and had me in a better place. He saw how tense the situation had me and knew actually what to do to level me out again. He didn’t like seeing me like that.

Soon after our shower, we dressed and got ready to leave. Majesty didn’t understand why we were leaving and Ace explained everything, so I didn’t have to later, by myself. I knew my daughter and I knew she would ask me later anyway. Ace explained it well, so I knew what to say when the question pops up again. I loved my husband so much. He decided to drop us off instead. He made sure we were in good and settled.

“Ace, why do you still have this?” I asked, looking at this huge picture of me half-naked. I did a photoshoot with this guy out in Atlanta during my dancing days. Ace had got the picture blown up and framed. He even had me write my signature across it. Now it hung in his office on the wall. I gave him the picture a long ass time ago. When he first let me decorate his condo, I felt the need to leave a few pictures behind, just in case a bitch ever step foot in there. I looked at the picture and thought how far I came. I wasn’t stripping or having to take half-naked pictures no more to survive.

“Because my baby sexy,” said Ace, coming from behind. He hugged me and kissed my neck and ear.

“Ma Ma, I wann see da pis’sure,” said Majesty, trying to see.

“No smoochie. You can’t see,” I said, turning her right around and walking her out the office.

“I wann see,” said Majesty, about to cry.

“You start crying, you getting a whooping. Yo momma said no!”

“C’mon, you wanna watch some movies with mommy?” I asked, picking her up.

“Koì, put her down, damn,” said Ace agitated. I kissed Majesty and put her down. I walked hand and hand with my daughter to the living room. I had to go down this step to enter the living room. Ace’s condo was large and very nice. He had a fireplace and this big ass TV. We rarely stayed at the condo but when we did, we always relaxed. Ace let me redecorate the whole place and get new furniture. I knew this was where he lounged at with his hoes. He wanted me to put my signature touch on it. I wouldn’t come to his condo for shit, so Ace had to do something. Now it was like a home away from home.

“You can pick da movie. Let me know and I’ll put it in,” I said, sitting Majesty down. I walked to the kitchen to talk to Ace before he left.

“Ace, I need you to go to the store for me.”

“I know. Can you clean all this out and I’ll have Akamai bring some groceries over? It ain’t shit in here,” said Ace, looking in the fridge. I shifted to the side.

“Yeah, I will. But Ace, look, I need you to get me a pregnancy test. I know the doctor said I wasn’t pregnant but I been feeling funny. I think I may be pregnant.” Ace closed the fridge.

“You happy?”

“Yes.” Ace started smiling. If I wasn’t happy then he wasn’t. He touched my stomach and kissed my lips.

“I promise...give me a few hours to handle shit. I’m gonna be back,” said Ace, picking me up. I wrapped my legs around him. “I already know you pregnant but I’ll get a test to confirm it. I won’t be gone long.”

“Well, just hurry back. And do me a favor... don’t do nothin’ crazy to Kash. If you talking to him, just talk. I’m sure he’ll respond better if you don’t come at him trying to rip his head off. He grown now and not a little boy. I don’t want my boys going at it. I trust this to be handled,” I said, looking in his eyes. I knew he was going to beat Kash’s ass for leaving those bricks in my car. It was already a messed up situation for everybody. ChaCha’s pregnant and I knew she was stressing. I was scared she might lose the baby. She lost one before because of stress.

“Yeah bae,” said Ace with an attitude and putting me down.

“Ace, look at me. You shouldn’t have an attitude with me. Why you gotta say it like dat?”

“Sorry, it’s just he knows better! You don’t do no shit like that. Shit is mad messy,” said Ace, rubbing his head. I grabbed his face and kissed his chin, cheek, and lips.

“I know baybee. I’m not mad though, so you-” I wasn’t mad. I was shitting bricks! I kept replaying what the judge said to me.

“I shouldn’t be mad. I know but he just being sloppy. I would never do that!”

“Nobody’s perfect. Ace, you should know dat. He probably can say some things you did wrong too but that’s not going to change anything. Just go talk to him, please. You’re his father. He’s going to respect you regardless. Now gimme a kiss,” I said, sitting on the counter. Ace grabbed my waist and kissed me. We stayed like this until we were interrupted.

“Da, I wann watch dis,” said Majesty, tugging at her daddy’s jeans. I slipped my hands out his jeans and placed my hands on the counter.

“You do. Well, let me see,” said Ace, picking his daughter up. He tossed her in the air and she cracked up laughing.
