In Spite of the Bosset Life(48)

“Koì, it’s done. Anyway, you should be on my side and supporting me. You think muthafuka’s gon give him a free pass because he getting all emotional like a little bitch? He might as well start putting cotton balls in his ass now.”

“Ace, don’t cuss at me. Your daughter is right dere. Don’t get stupid. And I do support my husband. Don’t go dere. You never told me about any of dis. I’m thinking he’s going to jail about some bricks when after all, you’re the one sending him to jail! What type of stuff is dat?” I made sure Majesty didn’t hear anything I said. This foo acted like this was Beyond Scared Straight. Kash was about to do time for real and I wasn’t with it.

“My bad... you do. But I’m talking about this situation. I was speaking in a general sense. I know what I got. A trophy,” said Ace, kissing my lips. I didn’t kiss him back. He ignored everything else I just said. I pushed him back gently, shaking my head. “What’s wrong?”

“M’Acesyn, we married. You should talk to me when you’re making decisions dat affects everyone. You sending our son to jail is one. You need to go pick up yo little phone and make some calls. You tripping.”

“Okay, maybe I should’ve talked to you. I’m sorry.”

“MAYBE!?”

“Yeah ...maybe...stop saying I’m sending him to jail like I’m the muthafuking police or some shit. My bad but for real. Stop saying it like that. I just didn’t pay for him to walk free from this and I’m NOT!” Ace was making it clear that everything was done. I walked away because I could tell he was mad. I was mad too. I stopped and went back though.

“I’ll pay it. He not turning himself in Monday without me knowing it’s another court date where the judge will expunge all this.”

“You not paying nothing Mook,” said Ace, sternly.

“Says who? Because MAYBE my husband can take his head out his ass for once.” I moved my head to the side. “You foul for not paying da shit from da jump! I want you to know dat too. Either you let me pay or he gon know what you doing.”

“Your husband says you not paying or saying shit to him. Try me. We talking, right? So, don’t say I didn’t warn yo ass.”

“M’Acesyn, get out my face. I’m not your child,” I said, looking at him confused. He didn’t, so I just turned around and went to the living. All I wanted to do was chill with my daughter. Ace left and he didn’t say two words to me. I let him leave because he clearly needed to collect himself. I wasn’t about to jump up chasing after him. I let him go and didn’t dare pick up my phone to call him. He called wanting to speak to our daughter hours later and I let him. After that conversation, he hung up, not even wanting to hear my voice on the phone.

I chilled with my daughter all night. I did a little business and even chatted with Nola for a bit. Majesty was now sleep and I just took some sleeping meds to do the same. I felt Majesty get off me and I figure she was going to the potty. Instead, she was going to the front door.

“Majey, come lay down,” I said sleepily. I was cuddled up on the couch with the fireplace going.

“DaDa home?” asked Majesty, dragging her teddy bear behind her. “Where DaDa, MaMa? I wann DaDa.” Majesty was wiping her eyes. “I wann my Da Da.” The medicine was starting to kick in but I managed to pick her up and sit her back on the couch with me. I looked down at my baby. She looked so innocent. I wish Ace and I wasn’t arguing so much. I loved him so much and I hated to fight with him.

“I want DaDa home too, princess. Just go to sleep, okay?” Majesty laid her head in my lap and closed her eyes tight trying to go back to sleep. I closed my eyes as well. I wasn’t sleep a good ten minutes before I felt warm lips on mines. Ace came around the couch and picked our daughter up. She held him tight as he softly talked to her. He carried her off to her room and came back to get me.

“Ace no,” I said protesting. I was at ease he was home but I wasn’t going to act like everything was okay. Ace wanted to throw a temper tantrum earlier and had the nerve to try to get smart with me. So, I was still upset.

“What you mean no? C’mon,” said Ace, acting like it was mandatory for me to go to sleep in our bed. “Just stop. Lose the attitude and get up.”

“Ace, I’m really high as hell and I’m not in my right mind. I just took some medicine, so no. I’m going to sleep right here,” I said, throwing the blanket over my face. He yanked it back and started to get undressed. “Ace, what you doing?”

“Going to sleep with my wife,” said Ace, tossing his clothes to the side and spooning up next to me on the couch.

“The point of me sleeping on the couch was so I didn’t have to sleep next to yo black ass,” I said, scooting over. He just came even closer and wrapped his hands around me.

“Haha, that didn’t work,” said Ace, as if that was funny.

“You get on my f*cking nerves, I swear,” I said, getting up. Ace grabbed my arm but I yanked away. I almost tripped over the step because like I said, I had just took this sleeping medicine. I grabbed the wall because I was out of it. Ace caught me and smiled.

“You high as hell. Over here tweaking hard. That’s why you really don’t smoke or like for me to smoke around you. You’ll be flat on yo ass,” said Ace, laughing like it was funny. He picked me up like a baby and carried me off to our master bedroom. When we opened the door, Majesty was already dead sleep in the center. I guess she got up out her bed and came to ours. “You and yo daughter think y’all can do whatever,” said Ace, lying me down. I snuggled up next to my baby and ignored Ace. He moved Majesty and I frowned up.
