Turned Out By A Boss(6)
Denim
Denim walked around her parents’ house looking depressed, at nine months pregnant she was so ready to give birth and get it over with. She tried not to complain much but it was hard when you were being kicked in your ribs and back all day.
While everyone was nursing hangovers and still on their highs from The Capitols re-grand opening last night. Denim was overly pissed. She hadn't heard from Rico since he left her house yesterday afternoon and promised to come back last night. Of course, he didn't show up.
"Denim, baby, are you staying the night?" Her father asked her as he sat on the couch with a beer in his hand watching Sunday football.
Not wanting to be home alone because of boredom she decided to visit her parents. That turned out to be a waste of gas. As much as she loved her parents she just couldn't see eye to eye with her mother. That lady was like a rash that you couldn't get rid of. Just a straight thorn in her side.
Before she could even respond to her dad a text was coming through her phone, it was Rico letting her know he was on his way to her house. Getting excited, she was now in a rush to be home when he got there or, at least, half way. She knew she shouldn't have even allowed him to come over after not showing up last night. However, that was her baby and whenever he wanted to be up under her. She would be there ready to oblige.
"Umm no dad I'm gonna head home." she answered, wasting no time heading for the door.
After being walked to her to the car and told to be safe Denim pulled off and headed home. Pulling into her driveway, she saw Rico's all black Range Rover parked and couldn't contain her happiness. Excitement went through her as she parked and got out of her car. With Rico not coming back to see her last night, she didn't know how things turned out with his club or if he was good.
After taking her sweet time walking up all five porch steps, she breathed heavily as she unlocked her front door. Only to be welcomed by the smell of purple Kush. Scrunching her nose up, she walked in with a frown on her face. The smell of weed was something she couldn't stand now that she was pregnant and this was something Rico knew.
"Why are you smoking in my house?" she asked Rico once she fully entered.
"My bad. Where you coming from?" he asked putting out the blunt he was smoking and helping her in.
"My parents’ house."
"You don't need to be going anywhere with my baby due soon." he stressed.
Denim just looked at him because it amazed her at how confused Rico actually was. She couldn't believe he actually had the audacity to sit here and say she shouldn't be going anywhere with his baby due soon when most days he's cursing her out for even going through with her pregnancy and wanting to keep the child they created together.
"Oh so now you care.” she snapped clearly mad.
“What are you talking about? Of course, I care.”
Denim looked at him and just laughed. Rico was forever switching up and while it never bothered her before, it irked her to no end now. For him to say he cared now that she was to give birth soon, after the never ending arguments they had a few months ago about her decision she considered him to be a joke.
She loved Rico with everything in her but she just couldn't understand him at times. One minute he was all about her then the next it was like they were strangers. She knew she put herself in this predicament by messing with a taken man. Still she, at least, wanted him to have his mind made up. If he wanted a side chick, then treat her like one. He complained about her nagging yet he was always treating her and catering to her as if she was more. Then he wondered why she had main chick expectations.
“Rico you are the definition of an ain't shit nigga. I just thought I'd let you know.” She said walking up to him getting in his face. “You don't know what you want. One minute it's me, next its Deena. You need to make up your mind.”
"Denim chill baby. I don't have time to argue with you. Why don't you just go get ready for bed.” He said waving her off.
Slapping his hand down, she hollered, “Don't dismiss me.”
Not wanting to argue Rico walked off and left her there to deal with her attitude. The last thing he wanted to do was have a screaming match. Bad enough he'd just had one with Deena. He thought coming to Denim would bring him a little peace of mind. That was being proven to be wishful thinking.
"Wassup?" he asked once she entered the bedroom.
"What happened to you coming back last night?" she asked standing over him as he laid on the bed.
“I was with my wife. What did you expect me to do call you and ask permission to spend time with my woman?” Sensing the sarcasm Denim shook her head.
Since Denim became pregnant, Rico honestly couldn't stand to be around her and no not because she nagged but because he really didn't want her to have this baby. The consequences of Denim having this baby was some of which he wasn't ready for.
“So why tell me you were coming back if you were gonna decide to be with her?” she yelled. "I didn't get a call, text or nothing. I sat up waiting for your lying ass to walk through my door and you never did. You could've let me know something. Instead, I'm stuck looking stupid."
"You make yourself look stupid," he yelled. "Denim stop acting like you didn't know I was married before you laid down and got pregnant by me. Hell, I told you to go through with the abortion, I'm not leaving my wife and she can't find out about this.”
