Turned Out By A Boss(38)
“Are you honestly sure this is what you want?”
“What you mean?” she asked confused.
"With me. I don't have time to get all the way there and this nigga say some shit to swindle your little ass and then it's f*ck me.”
Denim sat quiet for a while just thinking. Everything Kuazie was expressing was true. She was learning Kuazie all over again more so now that they were adults whereas with Rico she already knew what she was getting.
"I'm saying this for the last time and I don't want you to question me on it again because it makes me feel as if you don't trust me. I am with you one hundred percent. I won't jeopardize what we have together let alone what we're building just to be a side chick to him once again or anyone for that matter. I’m where I want to be.” she answered kissing his lips.

“You nervous?” Kuazie asked as they got situated in the hotel room. They were straight from the plane and exhausted. Rhia was cranky and cried the entire time on the plane.
“Yes.” Denim sighed with a slight pout on her face. “No one has seen my baby since she was like really small. I mean she's small now, but she didn't even have color to her yet. I'm scared.”
Sitting in the bed, Kuazie pulled Denim to him with her back to his chest and just held her. Leaning back against him she securely held Rhia in her arms as she got comfortable.
“Denim, listen. I know you scared but we didn't come all the way to New York for you not to say anything to anyone. Even if you don't tell his wife or even your parents. I still feel as though you and Rico need to sit down and talk.” Kuazie said in a soothing voice as he continued to hold her.
Fear set in once she realized that she was gonna have to face Rico and alone. Not knowing if she was yet over him or not, she didn't really fully trust herself around him just yet. Rico was a great manipulator and she was at one point not too long ago very invested in him. Denim knew nothing good would come out of that talk.
“I know.”
“Her little butt sleep now but was doing all that hollering earlier.” Kuazie laughed watching Rhia sleep in Denim’s arms.
“I know, right. My baby was going through it earlier on that plane.”
“I'm tryna get like her and catch some sleep.” They both looked down at Rhia as she slept peacefully with her mouth open.
“You and me both, babe. You and me both.” Denim stated as they laid down getting comfortable. The plane ride there may not have been long but flying tired them out.
Hearing banging on the door, they both groaned. It was no one but Treasure. Denim agreed to let her come as extra support. Which she was now regretting.
“What you want?” Kuazie asked opening the door but blocking her from entering.
“Boy move. I don't know why y'all getting comfortable. We're going out. Be dressed in a half hour.” she said walking back out not waiting for a response.
“You sure you don't wanna go?” Denim asked Kuazie for the fourth time as he and Rhia lay in the bed.
“Nah, I'm cool. You already called your girls and shit. Go have fun and enjoy yourself.”
“You sure?” Denim asked. She was kind of on the fence about leaving Rhia with Kuazie while she went out but she knew he would do nothing to hurt her daughter. In the past weeks of them reconnecting he's been more of a father to Rhia then Rico has ever been.
“Go ahead. Me and my lil mama gon’ be good. We about to kick back.” he said assuringly. Rhia was up and looking around fully alert as Kuazie held her in his arms.

“Who the f*ck is that and why she keeps mugging you like she want problems?” Treasure asked Denim.
They hadn't even been in the club more than twenty minutes and the shade Denim was getting was real. Apparently since she's been gone Deena brought in another friend. Not that Denim was complaining but ol’ girl had been throwing hella shade all night.
“I don't know who she is but what I do know is I look wayyy too cute to be arguing with irrelevant bitches,” Denim said flipping her braids over her shoulder. She was dressed in a black lace mini dress with a plunging neck line with a pair of Christian Louboutin Daffodil stardust pumps.
Denim picked up the bottle of C?roc and took it to the head as she danced to the music. This was her first time in The Capitol since the renovations and she couldn't help but to admire all the changes Rico made. As she turned up, she couldn't help but to feel a little empty being that her best friend wasn't there with her. She had extended an invitation but Cree declined. Making a mental note to see what was up with Cree she wasn't gonna let it affect her night.
“Can I talk to you.” Denim looked beside her to see Deena’s friend standing there. As much as she wanted to be a bitch and say no she agreed. Stepping off into a corner the two just stared at each other.
“So you're Denim?”
“Yeah, but who are you? I didn't catch your name.” Denim was trying to be nice but the vibes she was getting was all wrong. She felt more like she was being interrogated rather than having a friendly conversation.
“I'm Jasmine.” Noticing the look Denim was giving her Jasmine continued. “I know all about you and Rico, but, that's neither here nor there. Listen, whatever you two had is over. I'm not Deena so the bullshit lies I don't need them just leave my nigga alone.” she said stepping closer into Denim’s personal space as she spoke.
