Turned Out By A Boss(29)

Rico hated feeling like someone was taking him for a joke, and right now with Denim laughing he felt exactly like that. Grabbing her by her weave that she continuously flipped dramatically trying to be cute he pulled her towards him. “You say anything to my wife and your dumb ass will be homeless.”

“You wouldn't put your daughter out on the streets.” Denim challenged.

“Try me.” he smirked getting up and walking away.

Something about the way he looked at her let her know he was serious. Rico had never threatened her with anything like that and it worried her. The last thing she wanted to do was have to keep her baby a secret and now in fear that at any moment Rico supporting her could be over.

Chapter 10

2 Months Later....

Denim

Depending on Rico was something Denim couldn't see herself doing especially with the way he made it seem. The last thing she wanted to do was make it seem like she needed him. After making a few calls, she came up with a lot of options. That day in her living room had really opened her eyes to the type of dude Rico really was.

Having a home girl who was a realtor was definitely good for her because after just two months of tying up loose ends she was all packed up and now on her way. Treasure had hooked her up with a nice little three bedrooms two-bathroom house with a spacious front and backyard all for the low price of $650 a month. Feeling as if she couldn't beat that she decided to do what she should have been doing from the jump and that's living for her.

The day Rico pulled her hair wasn't his first time hurting her, it was previous times where she had to wear a pair of sunglasses or stay in because of a busted lip. Feeling as though her leaving New York was the best decision she could ever make she took the opportunity. It had nothing to do with Rico and his threats but everything to do with her child living a normal life. No kid deserves to have to have a relationship with their parent in secrecy. Not wanting to subject her child to that she was doing what was best for them and getting Rico out of her life all together.

"I can't believe you're here.” Treasure yelled throughout the airport as soon as she spotted Denim.

Denim looked around to see where she was. Seeing Treasure running towards her she got wide eyed. Treasure had always been this little skinny toothpick looking girl, standing in front of her was a grown ass woman with a body that made her jealous. Always having a pretty face Treasure was definitely shutting shit down.

“You look amazing. Girl, you left looking like a slim Jim now you stacked like K. Michelle.” Denim expressed causing them both to laugh.

“You silly. That's that good southern food, though."

"I see. You been eating all your rice and cabbage." Denim joked and they laughed.

"You look good to have just had a baby.” Treasure complimented and Denim rolled her eyes.

“Girl please I'm fat as hell and need to hit somebody gym ASAP.” she complained. “Let's go see this house.”

“That house can wait let me see this baby.” Treasure said carefully taking Rhia out of her arms and pulling the blanket back. “Omg, she's so pretty and these eyes. Aww, she's so precious. Those pictures you sent me did her no justice. Your baby daddy mixed?” Treasure rambled on as Denim laughed at her.

Pulling Treasure along they walked to the parking lot where Treasure’s latest model Benz was parked. Getting in the car, Denim made sure Rhia was secure in the car seat before Treasure pulled out the lot. With the music on low, they talked the entire ride.

Stepping out the car Denim looked around at the property Treasure had chosen for her and nodded. It was totally different from her house back in New York but change was good. She watched as Treasure walked over to her with Rhia in her arms.

“Do you like it so far?”

“Yeah, it's cool. Did my things get here yet?” Denim asked. She had sent down all of her belongings a couple days prior to her coming. Being that, her house was furnished with Rico’s money she left everything except Rhia’s things. At first, she debated it and was only gonna bring their clothes but she felt why should her baby have to wait for something she already has.

“Everything is here and just knowing I got your house looking right.” Treasure bragged.

Walking in the house Denim was a little nervous because she didn't know what to expect. She had gone and let Treasure decorate for her as a welcome to my city present.

“This is nice. You did that, instead of being a realtor you should go into design.” Denim gushed.

“Thank you, darling. I tried.”

“Tried? Girl, you did that. Especially my bedroom.” Denim complimented. She was in love with the light grey paint that donned her walls and Smokey grey furniture. Her bed set was Tiffany blue and lavender and she just loved how the colors looked together.

After looking around at everything, Denim was more than satisfied. The house may not have been as big as the one she had in New York but she could definitely say it was decorated better. Settling down on the couch she crossed her legs laying Rhia on them as Treasure sat across from her.

“So are you happy to be here?”

“Yeah, I'm glad for the change. I needed it.”

“So how did your parents take the move?” Asked Treasure.

Biting her lip, Denim let her know she hadn't told anyone she was leaving. As much as she wanted to inform someone she honestly felt it was pointless. She was grown and more than capable of making decisions on her own.
