Posing for the Omega (For the Alpha #2)(25)

“I wasn’t attacking you, just the alpha piece of shit.” Svara grumbled.

Koda ignored her and focused on me. “I never keep anything from you, but you didn’t tell me about this? Was this the thing you told me to stay out of?” Koda growled, the fur on his hackles rising as he became more agitated.

“You’re the one to talk! You kept the reason why you left our birth pack. You didn’t tell me I was a foundling! I just had time to accept that my mate was lying to me, that everyone is always lying to me!” I surged to my feet and paced a small circle my hands rubbing my belly anxiously. How could Dey be a luperci? It couldn’t be, that wasn’t even possible...was it? After everything she’d told me about what had happened, wouldn’t she just tell me outright? What about her pups? Wouldn’t they also be luperci? Frustrated and confused I kept pacing anxiously trying to unjumble the weed bed my brain was currently stuck in.

Koda’s irritation seemed to wash away instantly as he approached me slowly. “Ira I’m sorry, calm—”

“Shut up mutt.” Svara barked at Koda. “You can’t seriously be telling me you didn’t know your fucking mate was a luperci?” Svara said incredulously. “How is that even possible? Are you dense? Slow?”

Hot anger pierced my gut as I bared my fangs at the irritating she wolf. “I told you I was a foundling! I didn’t even know what I was until recently! How would I know unless I saw one of them change?” I officially hate this she wolf. Hate hate hate, double hate, UGH loathe entirely.

Svara’s nostrils flared. “You know absolutely nothing about your own kind? That sounds like fucking hell on earth if you ask me, you can’t even smell your own kind.”

Hell on earth - Well it sure hasn’t been a cake walk being the way I was, but I couldn’t deny the amazing benefits being who I was has had as well. I wouldn’t have found Zora if not for leaving my first pack - and I’ll not mention the fact I left because they were raging cat twats. Most important I wouldn’t have the pups inside of me either. I had no regrets.

“Why don’t you be useful and give us an idea why Dey would leave?” Koda snapped.

“How should I know? I assume it has to do with the pack of luperci I smelt not far from where I found you. Alpha luperci have a tendency to drive off most out of fear, she’s pretty wise to tuck tail and run.” Svara sighed and leaned back into her restraints. “I wouldn’t stick around either, but I was stupid enough to try and help an omega… again.”

“The luperci pack — she’s right Koda. Dey knew about them way before I did. The time I walked into the woods she was there when I came back and the next day you and me heard the story of Vey.”

“Do you think she has something to do with the blood wolves being here?” Koda pressed his green eyes narrowed with suspicion.

“No. When I saw Lathos he said it was me that he was here for.”

“Lathos?” Svara looked between the two of us tensing slightly. “That is an alpha to avoid. If that’s who is lurking in your woods, I’d say you better run as far as you can. Hexis and him—”

“WAIT! Hexis? Did you just say Hexis?” I shouted looking at Koda and back at the female luperci.

“Yeah don’t you— Oh wait that’s right, you’re a fucking lost lamb that doesn’t know anything.”

“Who is Hexis? What do you know about Lathos?” Ugh did this female not understand how important it was that I know!

Svara’s eyes narrowed. “Well it seems I know something you want to know, but I’m not in a particularly talkative mood. Being tied up does that to me.”

“We’ll make you talk!” Koda barked, the fur on his spine rising as he bared his fangs.

Granted I understood Koda’s frustration, I wanted to beat the female in the head with a large rock, but seeing my wolf brother try to intimidate a luperci would be humorous in any other situation. By the looks of it, Svara thought the situation was just as humorous, and the threat was humorous coming from Koda, but would it be as funny to her coming from me or my alpha? “You might not take a threat from a wolf seriously, but neither I or my alpha has time to play your games.” I bared my white fangs, the action becoming much more familiar the more I did it. “I won’t watch my pack die.” A surge of adrenaline raced through my body, the confrontation urging me on.

Svara snorted, her yellow eyes gleaming mischievously. “You’re not like most omegas — and your alpha is not like most alphas — from what I can tell. It’s refreshing to see something so out of the ordinary.” She stretched out her legs in front of her as she seemed to contemplate something, her gaze darting between my brother and I. “Ok, if you can prove to me that you and your alpha are what you say you are, then I will tell you everything.”

“And how do you expect us to do that? Didn’t I just tell you that we didn’t have time?” Mother fucking green she was worse than Naga! Didn’t she care that this entire pack could die? That pack members had already died?

“She doesn’t care Ira. She’s only out for herself.” Koda growled behind me.

“Shut up you filthy mutt.” Svara snapped violently at Koda’s direction.

A low distant warning growl emitted from Bryin, who had gotten to his paws, eyes cautious as he watched us closely. I put up a hand to signal that everything was alright, but I knew our time was running out. It would only be a little longer before Zora started looking for me and Alloy for Koda. This would be their only chance to talk to the she wolf, because I had no doubt that Zora would keep an eye on me at all time, and I didn’t think Svara would say anything with my alpha in hearing distance. She was no doubt our only hope at fighting the blood wolves, even with my alpha and I being luperci we knew next to nothing about our own kind.
