Posing for the Omega (For the Alpha #2)(24)

My eyes were bulging. I could feel them bulging out of my head, that or my brain had actually slid out of my ear and onto the ground. She was horrible. How was it possible to be so insulting in such a short amount of time. She didn’t even let me introduce myself. “Right. I need to talk to you about what happened in the woo—”

“You and the rest of this mutt band. I don’t have to explain myself. I was doing you a fucking favor, or I thought I was until I realized you have you alpha strung along by his dick. Good for you.” She bared her teeth in a toothy grin that was more predatory than friendly.

I held in the growl forming in my throat. This female was proving to be more frustrating than Naga, and that's saying something cause Naga was really hard to deal with. “How about your name so I don’t keep referring to you as the ugly red hag?” Two can play this game.

She chuckles. “I’ve been called way worse, Omega. You better try harder if you want to get anything out of me.”

“I don’t have all day for this.” Koda grumbled from beside me. “Answer his questions bitch.”

“Oh I’m so scared. A meer wolf may not run in fear from me. Come a little closer wolf, see want I can do to you.”

“Enough!” I rumbled as I stalked closer not caring about the warning Byrin had given me earlier. I looked over my shoulder to where the grey wolf watched us and nodded, hoping he’d understand that I didn’t need his help. Stopping with only two feet between us, I stared into the she wolf’s hard yellow eyes. From this close I could see her ties had bitten deep into her flesh leaving raw marks under her fur, if she were to try and shift she would likely break a lot of bones tied the way she was. Even without the marks the she wolf was covered in various scars all over her body. From large to small she looked like she had been in a lot of battles in her life. Looking straight into her unwavering stare I spoke. “I need you to tell me some things. My pack, and my pups count on the information you can give me and if you don’t talk to me then I’ll make sure my alpha breaks every bone in your damn body until you do tell me.” I let every emotions I had bleed into those words, all the fear, pain, and love I had. “Now what is your name?”

She sneered, her nose scrunching up as she let out a soft growl of her own. “Svara. That’s my name.”

Sighing I stepped back and sat down. “Svara, I want you to tell me what you know about the luperci.”

“What I know?” She burst out laughing, going as far as to throw her head back and cackle. “You are a dumbass. What more do you need to know?”

“She’s psychotic.” Koda murmured in awe.

She was insane, or just a raging asshole. I was definitely leaning towards a fifty-fifty split. “I don’t know what I am…” and wasn’t that pathetic.

The she wolf quieted as quickly as she’d started, her demeanor shifting quicker than any shift. “You’re a foundling.” Svara didn’t ask, she somehow knew.

“Yes my pack mother found me and took me in when I was very little. I didn’t know until recently.” I looked over my shoulder at Koda, his face was uncomfortable as I brought up the reason he’d left our birth pack. “I can’t shift—”

“Ira don’t tell her anything she can use against us.” Koda snapped.

“Chill out you ugly mutt. I never intended to hurt the omega and his pups.” Svara sighed roughly her face taking on a displeased pout. “I thought you were enslaved, like the others. I’ve never seen an omega who loves his alpha… that was a fucking surprise.”

“Enslaved?” Me and Koda said together.

“Hmmm you really don’t know.” Svara said as she looked between us.

“I don’t know anything. I only know what Dey was able to tell me about her omega brother.”

The red she wolf nodded. “That one I watched her sneak out into the woods last night. Definitely abandoning your asses.”

My heart jumped in my chest and I had to keep myself from surging forward. “You saw her leave? Wait, how do you know who I’m talking about?” I was frantic. Why would Dey leave? She had to be wrong, she didn’t know what she saw. There was no way Dey would leave on her own, not with her pups here, and her friends. She wouldn’t, but I had to believe that she wasn’t taken either.

“How do I know? You can’t be this fucking clueless?” Svara growled. “There is only three luperci that I’ve seen in this entire pack.”

“Three?”

“Yes the female that left last night was a luperci and that only leaves you and your alpha. You really are fucking clueless.”

“Dey is a luperci?” I felt a little light headed. How was that possible? Why would she lie to me? I could understand the rest of the pack, but to me?

“The alpha is a luperci!” Koda barked, looking between the two of us, but mostly at me. Pain started to leak into my siblings blue eyes as he realized I wasn’t correcting the she wolf. A part of me was glad he was experiencing the same pain he’d made me endure when I’d found out the secrets he’d kept from me, but mostly I just felt guilty.

“Why didn’t you tell me!” Koda growled.

“I was going to. I found out the day she attacked us.” I pointed to the crazy red she wolf.
