Uniting the Souls (Souls of Chicago #6)(27)

Matt’s gray eyes had turned dark and smoky as they looked at the man behind me and I could feel his own erection straining against my belly. Hudson’s hands landed on my waist, his fingers digging into my hips in a gentle tug as if he wanted me as close as possible to him. I had no problem with that whatsoever.

Trapped between the two men, my senses were filled with the combined scent of them. It was both citrusy and spicy and completely intoxicating. The heat from each of their bodies had me sweating and I wondered how I hadn’t burst into flames already. Matt’s hands moved from my waist, giving Hudson more room and I wished I could see where his hands were.

“I think perhaps we should move this to somewhere more private,” Hudson suggested. His deep baritone voice rumbled from his chest into my back and traveled throughout my body until I could feel it tingling in my scalp. Matt nodded his agreement and then looked down at me. I could feel Hudson’s hot breath against my neck and then his lips pressed against my skin and a shiver wracked my entire body.

“Yes,” I whispered hoarsely.

Matt and Hudson stepped away from me then and I was suddenly assaulted with the lights and sounds of the crowded club. I had forgotten that we weren’t alone, too caught up in the touch and feel of the two men I was with to worry about what everyone would think about the three of us being together. My eyes darted to the table where our friends sat, but instead of looks of outrage or condemnation, I was met with curiosity, happiness, and acceptance.

Hudson and I followed Matt over to the table where Hudson announced that we were leaving. We took turns saying our goodbyes and wishing the band safe travels. When Hudson went to hug Rylie, I heard Rylie whisper something to Hudson about having lots to talk about at their next session. Hudson whispered something back to him that I couldn’t hear, but it made Rylie laugh.

I shouldn’t have been surprised that our friends were so accepting of different types of relationships; they were all very open-minded individuals. Still, it was a relief to know that their reactions weren’t going to be an issue while the three of us took the time to figure out what exactly was happening between us. Matt stopped us before we reached the front door.

“I came here in a cab. Should I call one before we step back out into the craziness?” His words reminded me of the frenzied fans who were waiting just outside the doors.

“I drove. Are you guys okay with going to my place? I don’t live far,” Hudson offered.

I looked to Matt, wondering if he would change his mind, but he was already nodding at Hudson, a look of determination written all over his face. I agreed and Hudson turned and spoke to one of the security guards who escorted us outside. The crowd’s excitement picked up when they saw us leaving and they fired questions at us, one right after the other, trying to find out anything they could about what their favorite band was doing inside the party. We kept our heads down as the guard had instructed and soon we were climbing into Hudson’s SUV.

We made small talk, mostly about the center, as we drove to Hudson’s place, but the air around us remained thick with tension. I was surprised when Hudson pulled into the parking garage of a sleek high-rise building in the heart of the city. I shouldn’t have been shocked to find that Hudson had money, after all, he was one of the best therapists in the country with many clients who were well known politicians and celebrities, but it was easy to forget because Hudson was just so down to earth.

We followed Hudson to a set of elevators and climbed inside. There was no one else around and Hudson hit the button for the seventeenth floor then turned to us. He looked at me and smiled and I felt some of the tension leave my body. I glanced at Matt and saw him looking at Hudson. He was chewing on the inside of his lip as he stared at him in concentration.

“Have you changed your mind?” Hudson asked him. I held my breath as I waited for Matt’s response. I prayed that wasn’t the case, but he’d been scared off before and I still didn’t know what had been holding Matt back in the first place.

“No, I’ve just been thinking,” Matt answered seriously.

“What about?” Hudson asked, relaxing back against the wall when he saw that Matt wasn’t going to bolt.

“The two of you have kissed,” Matt said, glancing at both Hudson and me. There was no reason to respond because he already knew the answer to that so we just stared at him, waiting for him to continue.

“You and I have kissed,” he stated, turning to look at me. His voice had taken on a husky tone and the look in his eyes grew heated. I licked my lips at the memory of Matt’s mouth merging with mine. I wanted to feel that again. I wanted to slide my tongue inside and spend hours exploring all the flavors he had to offer. I was pulled out of my trance when he moved his gaze to Hudson.

“But I haven’t gotten to taste you yet,” Matt pointed out and I felt a jolt of excitement at the thought of having a front row seat while the two hottest men in the world kissed for the first time. I watched the sexy smirk that formed on Hudson’s lips and I nearly came in my jeans.

“I’m right here,” he told Matt, holding his arms out to his sides in a come and get me gesture.

I was surprised at first because I’d been expecting Hudson to take charge of the situation like he usually did when he was with me, but it was like he sensed what a big step it was for Matt to even be there with us and wanted him to be the one to make the first move. My chest warmed at the knowledge that this was more than just sex for Hudson. He cared about Matt and wanted to make sure he was okay with his decision.
