Reckless Souls (Saints Academy, #1)(92)

around this entire time. We’ve had light conversation, but not enough.

“We all know what my thoughts are,” Xander grumbles, pacing slightly in front of me with his

hands out at his side. “She’s mine. Sealed souls, forever mate, all of that shit. I just need her to

fucking see it like I do.” He rolls his shoulders back, turning to face the three of us as Adonis sits on

the bed beside me. “The class today didn’t help when Farrah was talking about a shifter’s mate and

what that all means,” he adds, hands on his hips as he hangs his head, and I nod in understanding.

Although it’s amazing for Xander that he’s found his mate, Rhea is a different story.

Yeah, I can’t imagine that going down well. She’s far too skittish to truly understand what it all

means, but that’s about to change.

“That wasn’t a good addition after Khaos went all growly on Marco,” Adonis adds, a grin on his

lips as he looks at the straight faced vampire before us. Khaos’ eyes squint at being blatantly called

out, but he shrugs like his actions made total sense.

“Marco was about to fucking bite her to prove a point for his little talk. I wasn’t about to let that

fucking happen. No one tastes her blood. Except me.” He says it so matter of factly, but hearing the

words drop from Khaos' mouth is far more surreal than he’s letting on. He’s been the quietest when it

comes to the girl at the center of our attention.

Turning my focus back to Adonis, the others must do the same because his eyes widen as he raises

his hand. “What? They didn’t stop by my group today,” he says quickly, before his lips spread into a

wide grin. He’s like a fucking cheshire cat. “She just overheard Varna explaining where we get our

power replenishment from.”

I roll my eyes, watching as he beams with enjoyment, but my cock stiffens with the memory of

yesterday all over again.

Fuck, I need to get a grip.

“And none of us have a clue what happened when she was over with the Gods,” I state, but

Xander scoffs.

“Maybe you can explain what happened with the angels, asshole,” he states with a deadpan

expression. Khaos and Adonis hum in agreement, and I swipe a hand down my face.

Right.

Me.

What did I do to tip her over the edge? Apart from the obvious. They know why I did it, which is

why we’re having this conversation now.

“Nothing. But we can’t carry on with this weird as fuck hot and cold shit we have going on with

her. We need to decide what’s going to happen now, and make her see one way or another,” I say,

determination in every word as I look at my brothers. Xander nods in agreement, while Adonis and

Khaos are a little more unreadable.

“To be clear, you mean you want us to admit we feel something for her so we can pursue her and

claim Rhea as ours in front of everyone,” Khaos surmises like he’s reading my mind, hitting the nail

on the head as I nod.

“Yeah, that.”

Silence descends over us as the reality of the situation drenches the room. A mixture of hope and

anxiety forming around us.

Resting my palms on my knees, I look at each of my brothers. I know we’re all on the same page,

every last one of us, but the difficulty here is the fact that some of them aren’t ready to admit it. Which

makes this all the more fun.

Besides, time is running out.

“We all know where I stand,” Xander repeats again, which only seems to set Khaos' mouth in a

harder line.

“That’s because you got your fucking powers early. The girl could literally have a tight pussy with

teeth that bites your dick off, and you’re still going to think she hung the moon,” Adonis says with a

dramatic roll of his eyes. I hold back the smirk that’s begging to cross my lips because he’s right.

Xander cuts the distance between them lightning fast, his eyes flaring, bits of amber visible in his

irises, as he crouches down so he’s eye level with Adonis. “If you ever get the chance to seal your

fucking soul, come talk to me, until then, keep your damn mouth shut because you know nothing about

it,” he growls, hands clenching as he stands tall and forces himself to take a step back.

Adonis glares back at him, but surprisingly keeps his mouth shut. Well, that’s a first.

“I’m assuming after your public make out session, you’re happy to be all in with her?” Khaos asks

after a moment, rubbing the back of his neck as he eyes me, and I nod firmly, confident in my decision.

“You need to say it out loud.”

I always assumed it was because I’m an angel that I’m so in tune with my emotions, but who

knows. All I know is I’m intrigued by Rhea, yet unsure of her all at once. But I can’t step away now.

“Yes, I am.” The surety in my tone leaves no room for doubt.

Adonis sighs as my knee starts to bounce a little, nerves getting the better of me as I wait for

either of them to speak. We’re split down the middle right now because Khaos and Adonis refuse to
