All the drama that was unfolding caught the attention of all the people in the restaurant, including the cordon bleu chef. Tony hated the drama and honestly, he had no idea about what was happening. Patrick, Tony’s right-hand man, walked into the restaurant and immediately saw his best friend going toe to toe with this strange woman and he walked right there to try and get things sorted out.

“Young lady, if my friend had slept with you, I would have known. Who the heck are you and why are you doing this?”

“Oh, so now you guys want to pretend that you don’t know me? Well, this is interesting!” the lady continued with the drama.

But amid all the confusion and embarrassment, Tony had missed seeing Kate pack up her purse and sneaking out of the restaurant. She quietly grabbed a cab and only burst out crying when the engine started.

Her fragile heart had been shattered into a thousand pieces.

Chapter 8:


-The truth comes out-

Tony was broken. And as he sat in his mansion wondering what the heck had become of his life, he couldn’t help but try to figure out just what Tony was going to do to fix whatever problems that he was going through with his new girl.

Kate was simply every single thing that he wanted in a girl. She was smart and very loyal and on top of everything else, she didn’t care much about the money. If anything, it always felt as though she always reminded him of how life was back in the day when he didn’t have a damn thing. And that was the main reason that he couldn’t stop thinking about her at all.

It was the kind of sensation that he never had when he was with the other girls who were always trying to get to sleep with him because of his millions. It was incredible how she would just sit there and make sure that she was listening to him talk about all the dreams that he had and also make sure that she chipped in as far as advising was concerned. In short, Kate was that kind of woman you would want to introduce to your parents.

But now his past had to come back to haunt him and end up taking away virtually every single thing that he had worked too darn hard to achieve. To tell the truth, it wasn’t fair at all especially when a guy like Tony decided to settle down, and some random girl from his past comes back ad ruins everything for him. And to make matters worse, it was with a girl he was planning on marrying.

Now the only option that Tony felt he had was to rejoin the billionaire boys club and start partying once again, but this time round, without the hope of ever getting a good wife to settle down.

And as was sitting on his couch, thinking about how unfair life was, he heard the doorbell ring. Tony wasn’t expecting anyone at that point, and that explained why he was a little bit reluctant when the doorbell rung. But from the look of things, it seemed as though the visitor was the persistent type since whoever it was, he wasn’t showing any signs of leaving anytime soon.

After sipping his whiskey and wiping his mouth with the sleeve of his shirt, Tony staggered towards the door and opened it with the intention of sending away the person who had decided to show up at his doorstep and disrespecting him when he clearly said that he didn’t want to see anyone at that time.

But when he opened the door, the person standing right in front of him made his jaws hit the floorboards.

It was Kate!!

As soon as a teary Kate was done explaining virtually every single thing and how things went down, it was about time for her to explain what had happened.

Patrick heard all about the fallout and decided to investigate secretly the model who had come to cause lots of trouble in his best friend’s life. Patrick had a few contacts in the FBI, and he used them to track down that model and also check out her financial activities. There, they found out that she was broke for most of the year, and that was until a couple of weeks back when she received a hefty one hundred thousand from Melissa Pratt.

And judging from the way Tony reacted, he seemed to have known Melissa Pratt from somewhere. She was that kind of clingy, super jealous girlfriend who made Tony’s life a living hell. And now that her name had been thrown into the mix, lots of things were starting to make sense now.

Melissa Pratt had made a point of getting someone hired so that they could proceed and spoil any chance of happiness that Tony had.

Tony and Melissa Pratt dated for just about a year. But by the time their relationship was coming to an end, it was rather too late for anyone to save it even though she tried all in her power. Melissa was the kind of girl that didn’t have any responsibilities since, just like Tony, she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. But that said, she also happened to have her fair share of demons which included partying way too much.

And as Tony was trying to get himself out of that kind of life and getting a little more responsible as he was getting old, Melissa thought that she could drag him back to that lifestyle. And at that point, Tony could see that the two were headed for two very different paths in life, and that was where their journey came to an end for sure.

Melissa wasn’t too happy about Tony calling her up and breaking up with her just like that. According to her, she thought that at least he owed her an explanation. But as far as Tony was concerned, he had been trying to explain to her for the better part of the three months that they ought to start behaving like the adults they were becoming, but Melissa didn’t listen.

And just like that, Tony decided to cut her off and move on with his life and from the look of things, Melissa wasn’t happy about it. Ever since then, she had been working too darn hard to make Tony’s life a living hell which was such an unfortunate thing indeed. Tony had already forgotten about her since they stopped talking and Melissa though she was the clingy type, didn’t make an attempt to contact him.
