Lost in Paradise (Paradise Club #2)(89)

“Fuck,” Nate curses as he rakes his hand through his hair as he falls back against his bed.

“He raped her, didn’t he?” Nate asks, the pain is etched across his face.

“We don’t believe that he did,” Jackson adds.

“But you’re not sure?” Nate pushes. Jackson shakes his head. “Fuck, Camryn … I … fuck. Fuck!” my brother screams in agony as his heart is ripped out over the situation.

“We are going to find her,” Jackson reassures him.

“What about him. Where the fuck is Harris?” Nate sneers.

“We are on it,” Jackson says.

“I want him destroyed. I want everything he owns destroyed. Harris Edwards needs to die.”

“Bro, no, that’s murder.” My comment earns me an icy glare.

“He’s going to fucking pay. That man tried to rape my girlfriend. He drugged me. He doesn’t deserve to live,” Nate states angrily.

“Nate, death is too easy for a prick like him. I have other ways to destroy him that won’t land you on death row.” Jackson smirks scarily at my brother. And I’d believe this guy, he is one scary dude.

“He fucking touched her,” Nate screams. “And who the fuck knows where she is now? She is out there thinking I set her up with that monster, all so I could fuck two fucking women who mean nothing to me. No. He doesn’t deserve to get off lightly."

“You, okay?” I ask him once we are alone again. It seems rather an inadequate question after everything.

“No, I don’t think I am,” Nate says quietly as reality sinks in. “I love her, man.”

This entire situation is fucked.

“Once we find her, and she realizes that Harris set this all up, everything will be fine,” I try to reassure him. He’s been through enough today.

Nate shakes his head. “I don’t think so. I don’t know if we will come back from this.”

“Don’t say that, man.”

“Love doesn’t always conquer all.” My brother sighs.

“But the truth does. You were a victim as much as Camryn has been. I know you won’t think this, but those women assaulted you when they rode your dick without consent.”

Nate looks up at me through weary eyes. “He fucking touched her, Alex. That monster touched her. I don’t care what those two women did to me … it’s nothing of the torture Camryn is probably going through at this moment. So, no, I don’t see myself as a victim, maybe a pawn in Harris’ fucked-up game, but I’m definitely not a victim,” he tells me angrily. “What I do know is, I’m going to make that fucker pay. Mark my words,” Nate curses.

IVY

My phone has been going crazy, pulling me from my sleep. I groggily grab my phone and see I’ve had a million and one missed calls from Kimberly. Why the hell would she be calling me? Shit, something must have happened, but they’re all at the resort opening. Did Camryn and Nate get engaged?

“Hey, Kimmie, how are you?”

“Ivy, Camryn’s gone,” she says breathlessly as her breath hitches. My stomach drops as I listen to the panic in Kimberly’s voice. “Somehow, Harris got onto the island and attacked her,” she says through hiccupping tears.

“No,” I scream down the phone as tears begin falling down my cheeks. “Please tell me this is some kind of sick joke. Nooo.”

“She’s missing, Ivy. We don’t know where she is. Has she contacted you?” Kimberly questions me. My heart is thundering through in my chest as I pull the phone away from my ear and look through my phone for any contact from Camryn.

Nothing.

This is not good.

“She hasn’t contacted me. Where the hell is she? She couldn’t have gotten far?”

“No, I don’t think so, but your sister is resourceful, so she could be anywhere,” Kimberly states.

“Where’s Nate? How the hell did he let this happen? He was supposed to have kept her safe?” I scream down the phone at Kimmie.

“Harris drugged him, so he couldn’t stop him. He nearly died.” Oh! Well, that’s not good, so I calm my anger toward Nate. “We are doing everything we can from down here, but we will be taking the jet back to New York as soon as we can. I think she might have come home,” Kimberly explains.

“What about Harris? Where the hell is that asshole?”

“He’s gone underground, but we will find him and make that bastard pay. I must go. I’m sorry to call you like this. I promise we will find her. Let us know if you hear from her.” And before I can answer, she’s gone.

Pulling up my sister’s name, I call her, but it’s disconnected. Where the hell are you, Cammie?

The next person I dial is Alex.

“Ivy?”

“What’s going on, Alex?” I ask as I break down.

“I’m sorry, baby. I’m so, so sorry. I promise you, we are doing everything we can to find your sister. I wish I was there with you. But Nate, he needs me. That fucker nearly killed my brother,” he says, and I can tell by his voice there is some hysteria there. Alex is panicked and that is unlike him.

“She hasn’t called me. She always calls me if something happens. I’m worried, Alex. What happens if Harris did something to her? What happens if she’s unconscious somewhere? If he drugged your brother, he could have drugged her?”
