Lost in Paradise (Paradise Club #2)(88)

Jackson escorts him out of Nate’s room.

Who the hell would want to do this to Nate?

“Do you think he knew those girls were on him?” Kimberly asks as she stares with intense hatred at my brother who’s sound asleep.

“Does he look like he knew what he was doing?” I ask her angrily.

Kimberly frowns as she stares at Nate.

“This looks to be a coordinated attack. I don’t know why yet, but I’m about to get to the bottom of this. How the hell did this shit happen on my watch on this island?” Jackson sneers, upset that someone broke through his defensive barriers. Jackson is the best at what he does, and I can understand something like this would not sit well for his reputation.

“We have to find Camryn. Because if that psycho asshole has done this to Nate, what the hell is he doing to her?” Kimberley adds.

“You wanna come with me, then?” Jackson asks, and Kimberly nods.

“I’ll stay here and make sure he doesn’t die,” I tell them both.

They each give me a sad nod before leaving.

I look down at my brother, and his stillness scares me. I keep placing my hand against his neck to make sure he’s still alive before settling back against the wall and letting out a long breath that I’d been holding in.

How did this all get so fucked-up?

I must have dozed off because footsteps pull me from my nightmares as I see Jackson standing before me.

“What’s going on?” I ask while panic takes over my body.

“Camryn’s gone.” Shit! “Doesn’t appear that she’s with Harris, but still we don’t know where she is.”

Fuck! This isn’t good.

Jackson’s phone beeps with a message, he looks down, and he’s quickly gone again.

Fuck! Where the hell is Camryn?

Oh, shit! What the hell am I supposed to tell Ivy.

Maybe Camryn has made her way to her?

Maybe I should call Ivy to see if she knows where her sister is.

As if she is going to tell you after what’s happened at your resort.

Shit. I can’t imagine this is going to help us to get back together. She’s not forgiving my brother for letting Camryn’s ex back into her life. This is a cluster fuck of epic proportions.

I notice Nate open his eyes and stare up at us. Thank fuck he’s alive, a little groggy but alive.

“You’re awake,” I say, looking down at my brother who has a deep frown of confusion etched into his forehead.

“Wait. What’s going on?” he asks, looking around the room.

Jackson walks back into the room.“Good! You’re awake,” Jackson states, which makes my brother frown as he glares at him.

“He doesn’t know yet,” I warn Jackson.

“What?” Nate screams at both of us as he knows something serious is going down right in front of him.

“It looks like Harris Edwards made it to the island,” Jackson states.

Nate sits up but sways a little as he’s still groggy from the drugs, and Jackson has his full attention.

“Where’s Camryn?” Nate growls.

Jackson and I look at each other, and the silence that fills the room is deafening and telling. Nate slams his hand down against the bedside table, making us both jump.

“You need to calm down, brother,” I tell him, not sure if his spiking heart rate is good for detoxing.

“I will not fucking calm down until you tell me where Camryn is,” Nate yells at us both.

“She’s gone,” Jackson states matter of factly. Like, come on, dude, a little more finesse when telling someone their girlfriend is missing.

Nate jumps out of his bed on wobbly legs and launches himself at Jackson.

“Where the fuck is she?”

“She disappeared off the island sometime last night,” Jackson explains. “It looks like Harris had planned all of this.”

“All of what?” Nate asks, seemingly confused.

“He drugged you, brought you back to your room. Set up two women to fuck you so Camryn would see,” I explain to my brother.

“Camryn wouldn’t leave over that?” my brother states, which makes me frown.

“There’s more … and you’re not going to like it,” Jackson explains.

“More?”

“You were drugged in the dark room. One of the guys you had in there had a needle. Harris paid him one million dollars to drug you,” Jackson explains to him.

“Harris paid all the men to leave him alone with Camryn in the dark room.” I tell my brother gently knowing exactly how angry he’s going to be when he hears about Harris’ plan.

“No. He … no ...” he answers, distressed.

“She broke his nose,” Jackson adds with a smirk proud of Camryn’s fight. “Then she rushed to your villa to find you.”

“Except you had company,” I add.

Nate face pales as realization hits him. Jackson then shows my brother the video footage of him being, I guess, sexually assaulted by the women.

How did they not know something was wrong? Either way, they are all fired. If they fuck a client that’s clearly as spaced out as Nate, that is assault, and I will not tolerate anything like this on the island. The video then shows a distressed Camryn running in with a towel wrapped around her, seeing Nate with the women, and leaving again.
