Healing Gabe (The Last Hangman MC #3)(24)

******

My phone rings, finally! Annie was supposed to call me two hours ago but I haven’t heard from her. I pick up, both happy to hear her voice and dreading what kind of bad news she’s going to tell me.

“Hey Darling.”

“Sorry, Gabriel. Not your sweet little girlfriend. You didn’t think we would never find out now, did you?” Jared chuckles darkly.

“Motherf*cker! Where is she?” I scream into the phone.

“Easy.” He chuckles. “She’s right here with us, at the warehouse. Come alone if you want to see her alive. You’ve got half an hour or she’s dead.” He hangs up and I’m left speechless. It’s all my f*cking fault! If I had been able to stay away from her as Cabe suggested, none of this would be happening. I scream out my frustration.

I’m shaking, lost, numb and f*cking raging. I can’t call anyone from the club, they’ll show up and she’ll be killed. For all I know, she could be dead already but I’m not willing to risk anything happening to her. I just hope it’s not too late.

I drive to their warehouse, barely making it there within thirty minutes.

“Two more minutes and she’d be dead. You’re a lucky man. Go in.” He snarls and points a gun at me, waving me into the warehouse. I don’t have much choice but to walk in front of him with a gun to my back. I freeze in the entrance. I see Annie tied by her wrist to one of the bars going across the ceiling of the warehouse.

“Annie.” I whisper.

“Sweet little Annie. She’s a real stunner just like Vivian.” He smirks and points to Blades and the other guy who is holding on to Vivian. My heart crashes. Seeing both of them being held captive is making me sick.

“Please don’t hurt them,” I beg him.

“Aww, them? You love both of them don’t you?” He laughs. “Hey, I’m not judging you. I wouldn’t be against some twin action, but we don’t have time for that. It’s all about little Annie tonight. See, I told you to stay away from them that night, to mind your own business, that you’d regret interfering. I always keep my promises. It’s funny, I would’ve just scared you and roughed you up a little, but then you had to go and join a MC and not just any MC but our greatest rival. Big. Fucking. Mistake there, Gabe. I mean, it’s one thing to interfere in something that doesn’t concern you, but join a f*cking MC, for what? Some protection? Look where it got you.” He forces me onto a chair and straps me in. I’m too stunned to fight back, another mistake. “Know what your second mistake was?”

“Shut the f*ck up!” I yell at him and he punches me.

“Do. Not. Push. Me. I could end all three of you in a blink of an eye without a second thought. Your second mistake was to start dating Annie and think we would never find out. I mean, do you really think we were letting her roam free without keeping an eye on her? Especially after the night you decided to play knight in shining armor? You’re funny, Gabe. But you’re going to regret it, all of it,

and you’ll kick yourself in the ass for the rest of your life. What happens next to sweet little Annie is on you.” He smirks. “Oh and let’s not forget that sweet sister of yours, but you’re lucky, she’s useless to us at the moment.” He shrugs and walks over to Annie who’s flanked by two other guys. They hold her in place, she’s struggling and screaming. I look away and the same look of distress, fear and disgust is mirrored in Viv’s eyes.

I can’t breathe, I feel faint, I know what they are going to do to her. He cuts off her shir—

I scream, waking up with a start. Fucking nightmares!

I’m sick and tired of them. I’m covered in sweat, I’m finding it hard to breathe and my heart is pounding.

I need to see her.

I need to make sure she’s okay.

That’s a lie. I need to see her so I can feel alive again…

CHAPTER 9

Viv

I wake up to something shaking me, waking me from one of the nicest Gabe dreams I’ve ever had. I groan and freeze, I live alone, so who the f*ck is shaking me? I sit up and my head hits something hard. My attacker groans as I scream and fall off the bed.

“For f*ck’s sake, Viv, it’s me!” Gabe groans and a giggle escapes me. “Not funny! You just busted my lip.”

“Awww, poor baby.” I snort and stand up, crawling back under the covers. “What are you doing here anyway and how did you get in?”

“Your lock is way too easy to pick. I’ll change it this week,” he says sitting down next to me and wrapping his tattooed arms around me.

“Why in the hell did you break into my place?” I glare at him but get comfortable in his arms.

“I wanted to see you,” he whispers kissing my head.

I sigh softly. “Let me guess. Nightmare?”

“Just like every single night for the past twelve years,” he sighs.

“I’m sorry Gabe. Do you want to talk about it?” I kiss his chin and close my eyes.

“Don’t be. No, I don’t. I probably should but I just can’t bring myself to talk about what happened to anyone else,” he says truthfully.

“I’m always here if you need to talk.”

“Thank you, Doll.” He kisses me softly.
