Forgiving Nancy (Last Hangman MC, #5)(49)

“Good because I wouldn’t have left anyway.”

“Why did you ask then?”

“To give you the illusion that you have some control over me?” He grins unashamedly and I burst out laughing.

“Bennett, a woman’s best weapon isn’t her tears, it’s between her legs. I know I can make you do anything and everything I want.” I smirk.

“Oh really?” He smirks and rolls us so he’s lying on top of me, between my legs. He grinds against me and we both moan. Surely he’s trying to get the upper hand here.

“See, you have no self-control around me.” I taunt him in a sing song voice.

“Fuck off.” He chuckles and rolls off me to spoon me.

“Thank you for waking me up.” I kiss the bicep I’m resting my head on and get comfortable.

“Don’t mention it.” He kisses the back of my shoulder and slightly bites it as I grind my ass into his cock. “Don’t or we won’t sleep.”

“Not even sorry.” I chuckle and cuddle his arm.

Tonight had to be the second best night of sleep I’ve ever had. Sleeping in Bennett’s arms, I feel safe. Maybe I shouldn’t try to push him away anymore, especially since I’m vulnerable. I should give him the chance to protect me and take care of me the way he wants to.

I must’ve managed a few hours of sleep because when I open my eyes it’s daylight outside and Bennett isn’t spooning me anymore. I look around and smile when I see a note next to my phone on the nightstand.

Morning my Gorgeous Girl,

As usual, club business, will message you a bit later.

Callum is on ladysitting duty and I know you like him (which I’m not sure how I feel about).

The girls are having lunch today and going for shopping, they want you to go so be ready by 11.30.

I love you.

Bennett.

I giggle as I read his words, knowing that he’s jealous of mine and Callum’s friendship amuses me for some reason. He knows I love him and that he’s the only one for me but I guess he’s just insecure with how close me and Callum are, which I can understand to a certain degree. I guess I’ll have to keep reminding him that he’s my one and only.

I look at the time and realize it’s already eleven and I need to get my ass in gear or I’ll be naked when the girls get here. I jump out of bed and take a quick shower before throwing on a pair of jeans, Converse, a white tank top and a flannel shirt. I skip make up altogether because I just can’t be bothered this morning. I grab my phone before running downstairs to make a quick cup of coffee.

I’m sitting on the couch watching the news when I bring cup to my lips and hear a knock on the door at the same time. Two seconds later the front door opens and Ayden, Line, Viv and Nicole all bundle into the living room.

“Hey Chica!” Viv exclaims loudly and walks over to hug me.

“Hey yourself.” I say and put my cup down on the coffee table.

“Please tell me it’s good coffee and that you have a pot ready?” She asks as she walks to the kitchen.

“Help yourself.” I smile and hug each of the girls in turn.

“No love for Callum?” I hear him ask as he walks in after everyone and punches in the alarm code to rearm it.

“Of course.” I smile and walk over to him before hugging him as well. Callum is one of those people who don’t show their emotions often. Instead he’ll bottle it up inside and never let it out unless he meets that one person he can trust implicitly and I’m so glad I’m one of those people. One look and we know exactly how the other person is and what they’re thinking, and by the looks of it, he’s not doing too well at the moment. Something is clearly playing on his mind today.

“Later,” he whispers before pulling away from my hug.

“What’s going on between the two of you?” Ayden asks and we turn to see her eyeing us up from her spot on the couch.

“It’s none of your business, Little One.” Callum chuckles before ruffling her hair.

“Oh no you didn’t, you bitch!” She slaps his shoulder before her face contorts with pain as she cradles her hand. “What the f*ck are you made of?”

“Pure muscles, Babe.” He smirks and disappears into the kitchen. “Got any whiskey? If I have to f*cking ladysit you guys all day I’m gonna need some alcohol in me.” He looks between all of us as we join Viv in the kitchen.

“I have no idea where Bennett hides it. Sorry.” I give him an apologetic smile.

“Asshole,” he mumbles and pours himself a cup of coffee.

“Ready for some shopping and lunch?” Nicole asks, clapping her hands with excitement.

“Uh, I guess,” I answer nervously.

“What’s wrong? Scared to be seen with us?” Nicole asks sounding a little offended.

“It’s not that.” I sigh. “I just don’t have much money at the moment. I fe-”

“Like hell you’re not going to enjoy yourself today. I’ll pay for you. You refuse I’ll tell on you.” Callum cuts me off glaring at me.

“As I was going to say, it’s already costing Bennett a shit load of money to help me get my papers sorted, we need to prove that I’m still alive so I can get my ID and stuff.” I explain.
