No Limit (Armed & Dangerous #1)(44)

“Thanks,” I replied, glancing down at my silky, blue dress.

“Do you have everything you need?”

I patted my purse. “Gun is safely tucked away and I have two serums, just to be on the safe side. The others are in my suitcase.”

He walked up to me and held my face in his hands. “I know you’re sick of me saying this, but be careful.”

I breathed him in. “I will.” A knock sounded on the door and he growled low in his chest. “I’ll get it so you don’t try to kill him.” Taking a deep breath, I let him go and started for the door. However, it wasn’t just Chazz standing there when I opened it.

“Hello, beautiful,” he greeted.

I looked over at the girl standing next to him and recognized her as one of Madame Chatfield’s. She was shorter than me with long, brown hair and bright blue eyes, dressed in a short silver dress that barely covered her backside. “I know you,” she said with a big smile. “I met you the other day, didn’t I?” She held out her hand.

I shook it and let go. “Angelica, right?”

Jason came up behind me. “What’s going on?”

Angelica walked past me and clutched his arm. “You were right, he is handsome,” she said, beaming at Chazz.

I glanced up at Jason, trying my best not to look panicked or pissed. I didn’t like her touching him and I sure as hell didn’t like Chazz bringing her.

“Sorry, love, but I’m not interested,” Jason claimed, sliding his arm out of her hold.

“She’s part of the deal, Avery,” Chazz explained. “I didn’t want you to be a sore loser, so I hired Angelica here to be your date for the evening. If you turn her down, the deal’s off. Make your choice.”

Jason’s eyes darkened menacingly and the room felt icy. Chazz could sense it and met Jason’s stare, provoking him. “The deal’s off. You’re not going to tell me who to f*ck and when. And you’re sure as hell not going to have Aylee.”

Angelica slid out the door and Jason slammed it, only to be stopped by Chazz’s foot. “First of all, I don’t give a shit what you think. I only care about Aylee. I say we leave it up to her.” He pulled out two large envelopes that I knew were filled with money. Jason didn’t want me to go, but I had to. It could be my only chance to see if he was guilty. Not to mention, he had Angelica with him. If he didn’t take me, it might be her.

Jason gripped the side of my waist. “You can’t go,” he hissed low.

Taking his hand, I pulled him farther into the room while Chazz and Angelica watched from the doorway. “I don’t have a choice. I have to go. I can’t let Angelica stay with him. If something were to happen to her I’d never forgive myself.”

His fingers dug into my arms, his green eyes wild. “You don’t get it. I won’t be able to follow you.”

“Yes, you will. She can have a date with one of the serums. Once you’ve slipped her the drug and her eyes close, make sure to verbalize what you did to her. She’ll wake up happy and satisfied.”

Huffing, he closed his eyes. “Fuck me. Stall as long as you can so I can catch up. I’m going to kill that f*cker if he hurts you.”

“I’m waiting,” Chazz warned.

I rolled my eyes and Jason turned to him. “Keep your dick in your pants, man.”

I squeezed his hands. “I’m ready for this. You know I am.” Turning, I stalked over to Chazz, taking the envelopes to make sure the money was in them. The transaction made me feel like a prostitute, but I wasn’t about to not take it from the bastard.

Chazz waved at Jason and nudged Angelica inside. “You two have a good night. I know I will.” He shut the door so fast I couldn’t get one last look at Jason. Putting his arm around my waist, I couldn’t help but snort in disgust.

“You could have been a little more polite. I’m not sure I want to f*ck someone with no manners.”

“Keep it up, sweetheart. Feisty women are my favorite. You’re only turning me on more. Frankly, I don’t see what’s so bad about me. I’m good looking and I can f*ck all night. Isn’t that what you ladies want?”

“Those are good qualities, but it helps to not be a dick.”

“But I am one. You’re just going to have to get the f*ck over it.”

We’ll see about that. We got in the elevator and he pushed me against the wall, groping my breasts and slobbering on my neck. It took all I had not to knee him in the balls.

“I’ll take care of you tonight. Once I’m done with you, you’re going to wish you were with me and not that wannabe.”

“You honestly think you can make me forget him?”

He traced my nipples with his fingers and pushed his arousal into my leg. “No, but I can make sure he forgets you. By the time I’m done, you won’t be able to walk for a week. He’ll have no use for you then.”

At least he planned on bringing me back. Or was that his game, toy with his prey before going in for the grand finale? One thing I’d come to realize was that serial killers were extremely f*cked up in the head. There was no rhyme or reason for the things they did.

The doors opened and Chazz stepped away, but put his arm around my waist. “If you despise me so much, why did you agree to come with me tonight?”
