Wanting Winter(18)

Drake has a crush on me? That is so cute. No wonder he stared at me and mumbled over his words. “Don’t you find it weird that he likes me when I’m with you?”

He shakes his head. “No. He wouldn’t try anything. I know it will eventually pass.”

“I am pretty amazing; he could be in love with me until the day he dies, you never know,” I joke.

“You are amazing.” He chuckles leaning over kissing my nose.

“Candice is a good friend too: she wouldn’t get with a guy I like. She knows that this is new territory for me as I have never shown interest in a guy before since I’ve been here,” I say as I put the car in gear.

Trent doesn’t comment. He just looks out the window.

Trent

She had to bring up Candice. Now, all that guilt comes rushing back. I can’t end it with Winter, especially knowing she has a wild side that makes me even more crazy about her. She surprised me today.

I wish I could tell her what kind of friend Candice actually is.

We pull out of the parking lot and I look back to the school and I see someone standing in the shadows. I don’t need to look hard to see its Candice. She has been watching me. Us.

A shiver runs down my back.

I am dreading the day when I have to sleep with her. I know that will be the day I will be permanently stuck in purgatory.

Is Winter worth it?

I look over at her and, like she knows I’m watching, she turns and faces me with her big blue eyes and smiles—a smile that warms me all over. I take hold of her hand that’s on the gear stick and entwine our fingers together.

She is worth it.

I can’t lose her.

Winter

Trent wants to take me to his apartment so, walking up the stairs until we reach his floor, he guides me to his door and when he opens it up, I hear the TV in the living room. I walk further into the room and see the layout is exactly like mine.

I see Drake sitting on the couch.

When he notices me, he sits up straighter and I have to suppress a giggle. Now that I know he likes me, he is just adorable.

“What are you guys doing here?” Drake says, standing and wiping his hands down his pants.

“I wanted to show her where we live,” Trent says coming to my side.

We?

“We?” I speak out my thoughts.

“We live together,” Trent says, kissing the side of my head before taking my hand and giving me the grand tour. The place is tidy, considering two men live here. I see a few plates and glasses lying around, but it’s not terrible.

Walking back to the living room, I sit down next to Drake, who jumps. I look at Trent, smiling, trying hard not to laugh. “Drake?” I say his name sweetly. He faces me with big eyes.

“Ye... yes?” he stumbles.

“Thank you for today at lunch; it means a lot.” I lean over and kiss his cheek and when I pull back, I see his whole face go red.

“What did he do at lunch?” Trent asks, sitting on the armrest next to me.

“Oh, nothing. It’s just between us, right Drake?” I wink at him and he blushes some more.

“Stop teasing him,” Trent whispers in my ear.

“I’m not doing anything,” I say innocently.

He pulls me up, so I am between his legs. “You flirting with my friend?” he whispers again.

“Would you get jealous if I was?” I wrap my arms around his neck.

“I wouldn’t be jealous of Drake as he’s my best friend, but any other dick out there, then yes. Men are lucky that I don’t knife their eyes out when they look at you with a hungry look.” He leans forward, his nose stroking along my jaw.

“What about women?”

I feel his body tense up. “What do you mean?”

“I mean if any girl looks at you like a piece of meat, I want to slap a bitch. I see how girls look at you. The worst part is that girls try very hard to make men cheat with them; they have got boobs and pussies—men do fall for temptation.”

His eyes look back at me, but he looks sad.

“Trent wouldn’t cheat, he isn’t the type,” Drake says after a minute of silence. “He would rather break up with the girl then cheat. He knows it’s a dick move. Besides, he would be an idiot to cheat on you.” He catches himself and quickly stands. “I’ll be in my room.” He starts to walk away.

“Thanks, man,” Trent calls out.

“Yeah, thank you, Drake,” I call out as well. I face Trent again. “He is so cute.”

I shriek when Trent moves, pinning me on the couch. “I hope you’re not falling for my friend.”

“I’m allowed to be nice.” I pause. “But he is decent looking. I wonder what he looks like shirtless; I am sure I saw the outline of his tight abs.” I scream when he starts tickling me.

“You think you’re funny.” He continues to tickle me.

“I know I am.” I shriek again. Trent moves his body causing him to grind against my core and I moan out into the room. “You’re teasing me?” I purr at him making him stop. His eyes looking darkly at me. “Don’t stop touching me.” I breathe out to him.
