Craving Tori: White Timber Pack(26)

My mother squeals and claps her hands together.

“That’s amazing news, isn’t it Bryan? We’ll have grandbabies before you know it,” my mother mentions excitedly while jumping up and down.

“Yes, that’s great news,” my father replies.

Flashes of me being pregnant with Ryan’s child comes to mind and a smile breaks out over my face.

Chapter Twelve

Tori’s parents are staying near by in an empty cabin. My mate is thrilled to have her parents so close. She needs them more than she thinks. When she saw them yesterday, it was clear as day that she needs them in her life.

When I woke up this morning and came downstairs, my father mentioned that Issac has some news he would like to share about Steve. I wonder what it could be.

Now, I’m waiting outside with my father and Caleb for the bears to show up.

“What do you think they found?” Caleb asks my father.

My father shrugs. “I have no idea what they could’ve found.”

A truck pulls up in the driveway. Issac steps out with a female bear and another male. I have to suppress a growl because the female is the one that’s causing troubles for Kelly right now. The bitch keeps throwing around the fact that Issac doesn’t need a weak mate, that’s why he’ll be mating with her instead of Kelly.

Issac comes walking over to us. “Darren,” he says with a nod of his head.

“Issac,” my father replies. “Let’s go to my office, and then you can let us know what you found.” He nods and follows my father inside. The female glares at both my brother and me.

I release a snort.

“If they are here for a while and the sun goes down some and Tori gets up, I have a feeling I’ll have a hard time keeping her away from the she-bear,” I mumble.

Caleb laughs. “Oh, I know the feeling. Elizabeth tries, but with her being pregnant she won’t chance it. She’s counting down the days to get her hands around that bears neck.”

I snicker about my sister-law-in. I can see her doing something like that.

Finally, we’re all standing in my father’s office and Caleb closes the door while my father takes a seat behind his desk. Issac stands in front of it before taking a seat, and the she-bear takes the seat beside him. The other male stands behind him.

My father is the first to speak. “So, what news do you have to share?”

Issac pulls a cell-phone out of his pocket and places it on the desk. My father looks down at it with a frown. “This is Steve’s cell phone? What did you find on it?” my father demands.

“We found a number that was called regularly from it. I decided to call it to see who answered,” the bear mentions, his voice gruff. “From the other line, a woman answered. Saying something about a magic shop. I think he was talking with witches. That’s probably why Caleb’s mate couldn’t scent Steve being a wolf.” My brother lightly growls at the mention of his mate.

My father gives Caleb a stern glare and he stops. My father looks at Issac and nods his head for him to continue.

“I think he asked the witch to mix something up for him to lose his scent. I think it might be something to consider looking into more,” Issac mentions.

My father gives a firm nod.

“I agree. We don’t want witches going around making potions left and right for shifters.” My father pauses for a second to think, “We’ll find out where they are located and we’ll go in three weeks from now.”

Issac nods and stands up, the female following his movement. They turn and leave the office. I look at my brother, then my father.

“Witches were helping Steve? I don’t understand. I thought witches didn’t meddle in the affairs of shifters?” I growl, pissed that we have another issue to deal with.

My brother shrugs. “I don’t know why she was helping him, but we’ll find out,” he replies.

“Don’t worry, son, we’ll get to the bottom of this,” my father mentions.

I nod my head, hoping we’ll find out, too.

“Well, I better get back home to Elizabeth,” Caleb mentions, walking out of the room and leaving me alone, lost in my thoughts.

Witches, I can’t believe it. Seems like we find out something new everyday. I shake my head. “I’m going to check on Tori,” I mumble before exiting the office.

My head hurts from the overload of information. I want nothing more than to shift and find this witch for causing harm to my mate. She might not have abused her, but she had a hand in it with making Steve that potion.

After leaving my father’s office, I went back upstairs to my room where I left Tori resting earlier. Once I made it inside the room, she pounced on me. We were naked and sweating within a matter of seconds. God, she has an appetite for sex now. I’m not complaining one bit, I love this new side of her.

We’re just getting dressed after our tumble in the sac when her phone pings, and she looks down at it with a grin, typing back to whoever it is. After she’s done, her head pops up.

“That was just Kelly, asking if I want to head to the bar later,” she whispers.

Is she ready to be around a whole bunch of people so soon? “You think you're up for that?” I question.

She nods. “I think I am. I can’t stay cooped up in this house. I’m going to go stir crazy.”
