Start a War (Saint View Psychos #1)(81)

No he wasn’t. Nobody was going to hurt Vincent if I had any say in it. “No. You’re not. Wait here. I’ll be back.”

Without waiting for War to reply, I grabbed Vincent’s arm and shoved him down the corridor toward my office.

Nash stormed into the action, but he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw me. His eyes widened, darting between me and Vincent and the crowded hallway full of people all staring at us.

“Bliss, what the fuck?” Nash gaped at me.

I was still fully naked. I could feel both mine and War’s arousal on my inner thighs, and yet it didn’t seem the worst thing in the world. Separating the two men—two men I cared about—and keeping them from killing each other seemed more important.

“Can you go help War? He’s in room thirteen and he’s hurt.”

I didn’t wait for Nash to agree. I knew he would. I punched in the code for my office door and glared at Vincent. “In.”

“Bliss, I—”

“No, I don’t want to hear it, Vincent! At least not until I have some fucking clothes on!”

VINCENT

The darkness flickered at the edges of my vision, seeking to find a way in, inching forward with long, slender fingers that threatened to drag me down and pull me under. I sucked in deep breaths, filling my sight with her. If I could see her, if I knew she was okay, then maybe I could keep him away.

Scythe laughed somewhere in the back of my mind, the sound sending chills down my spine.

Bliss shut her office door behind us and stormed to her desk. She yanked out the bottom drawer and took out the jeans and T-shirt she’d been wearing earlier in the day, throwing them on top of the desk top with jerky movements.

She was angry.

I wasn’t sure why.

She was also naked.

That wasn’t something I’d ever really noticed about people before. My father had dumped a bunch of old, crude magazines on my bed when I’d been fourteen. He’d told me to go through them and do what felt natural.

I’d looked. And then I’d put them away in a drawer and gone about my day. The naked women inside them hadn’t been of any interest.

But Bliss was different. I couldn’t drag my gaze away from the soft creaminess of her skin. It looked so smooth, I wanted to reach out and touch her just to find out if it was as silk-like as it seemed.

She scowled at me. “No turning around to face the wall this time?”

She yanked up her panties, covering her mound and the swollen slit between her legs. Her inner thighs glistened, and my fingers clenched at what that man had been doing to her. I dragged my gaze away, but the moment I did, his voice was in my ear.

“I’m coming for her.”

It took everything I had to push it out. I groaned at the effort and turned back to watching her.

Her eyes widened at my clear disregard for her request for privacy. “Vincent!” she snapped.

“I need to see you. I need to know you’re okay.”

Her gaze burned through me, full of a fire and defiance I’d never seen on her before. But then it softened, and she sighed, taking her bra from the table. “I suppose it doesn’t really matter now. The entire club has seen everything I have going on. I don’t know what I was thinking. This whole thing is mortifying.”

Her breasts were large and full, her nipples a light brown.

The urge to suck them and run my tongue around the ridges and little bumps rushed me hard and strong.

The urge to take her like War had been, followed straight after.

My dick went hard behind my black uniform pants, and I gripped the wall at my back to anchor me so I didn’t move.

She pulled her bra on, fastening it at the back, and then all her gorgeous skin disappeared beneath denim and cotton.

The entire time she eyed me, her perfectly shaped eyebrows drawn together in a frown. When she was dressed, she pointed at the chair on the opposite side of her desk. “Sit.”

I sat without question.

She lowered herself in the chair on her side of the desk and blew out a long breath that lifted the loose tendrils of hair from around her face. “Vincent… What the hell?”

“He was hurting you. I heard your screams.”

She scrubbed her hands over her face and groaned. “He wasn’t hurting me. I was…enjoying it.”

I stared at her. “You were screaming.”

“Because it was good! Jesus, Vincent. You know how it is when you’re on the verge of an orgasm.”

I didn’t. He did. But I didn’t. He taunted me with those memories, of women writhing beneath me, but none of them were mine. They belonged to Scythe.

And so will she.

“No!” I ground out.

Bliss jumped. “You don’t?”

My head swam in dizzying circles, the blackness always trying to creep in. It hurt to keep it out. I squeezed my eyes shut and pressed my hands to my ears, trying to force his voice away. I didn’t want to hear his thinly veiled threats. His promises that he’d take the one thing I really wanted.

Soft fingers wrapped around my wrists, drawing my hands away.

I opened my eyes.

Bliss was on her knees at my side, staring at me with huge, worried eyes. All the fire and anger had disappeared. “What’s going on? Talk to me.”
