Unexpected Eva (Triple Trouble #3)(80)

“I’ll get my head of tech to set that up. Can you minute that, Mrs. Kinnear, to ensure I remember?” Knox says, deep in thought as he sweeps his fingertips back and forth across the shiny tabletop, the other on the arm of his chair. “And I think that’s us finished for the day. This room is booked out in five minutes time.” He checks the wall clock.

“What about you, Knox? Eva never had any joint ventures for your hotel. What would you do for him? Running out of ideas?” Tabitha says through barbed words.

Knox answers her before I do.

“Not true,” he says. “Eva and her sisters signed a contract with The Sanctuary. We are setting up a dance retreat. We’ve already sold twenty places for the spring intake and the summer intake is full.”

Is it? Holy moly.

Shit just got real.

Tabitha pushes her seat back to escape the answers we have for everything. “You’ve kept that quiet, Knox.”

“It’s on the website and has been for two weeks. Plus, it was emailed out to our customers, too,” he replies sharply. “Enough now, Tabitha. You've made your point.”

Head down, Tabitha throws yet another designer bag back over her shoulder, draping her expensive-looking red cashmere coat over her bent forearm. It probably cost more than my entire wardrobe. I love shopping at thrift shops and secondhand vintage stores. The only designer items I own are branded sneakers. Like the ones I have on today. They are sparkly as hell, and I love them.

She looks back over her shoulder at Knox and me, bouncing her eyes left and right between the both of us, then she leaves.

What is she up to?

As the final few stragglers depart too, Knox asks the last person to close the door as he needs to discuss some finer details of the dance retreat with me.

Minutes pass before he says, “You’re a smart girl, Eva. You fucking rocked today.”

I beam. “Yeah?”

“Yeah, you did.” With his clenched fist, he shakes it, then punches it in the air. “I’m so proud of you. I should hire you as my marketing assistant.”

“Thank you.”

“You keep surprising me.”

“Do I, how come?”

“Well, one minute I think I’ve got you all figured out, and then the next thing you blow me away with something new and unexpected.”

“There is still so much to learn about each other. We’ve only been seeing each other since the auction.”

Next Saturday is Ella’s wedding. Only a few more days to tell everyone.

“Feels like longer.”

“Feels like it's not long enough.”

“Feels like I have known you my whole life.”

“Almost.”

“True. But not like this.” He gestures between us.

“I like us.”

“I like us too.”

“I have something else to surprise you with.”

“Yeah, what’s that?”

I lean in close to him, stare deep into his eyes, and whisper, “I changed the jewel on my clit ring yesterday. Want to see?”

Turning darker than ever, his eyes dilate.

It’s incredible how much control that tiny little jewel has over this powerful, strong man.

I sense his brain emptying of thoughts as the hunger in his eyes glows.

“Yes,” he whispers back.

“Too bad. You’ll have to wait until tomorrow afternoon.” I push my seat backward.

Making me giggle, he groans, then bangs his head against the edge of the tabletop.

“You drive me crazy. Now I have to spend the rest of the afternoon working with a fucking hard-on.”

I push my arms into my caramel coat and belt it up, then secure my scarf around my neck. It’s minus one outside today. Winter has arrived.

“I’ve heard cold showers work wonders. Or you could dip your dick in the frost outside or skinny dip. The cove is lovely this time of year.” I place my hat on top of my head.

“He would shrivel up to a pressed stud if I did that.” He shivers at the thought.

“I’d pay good money to see it.”

Knox lifts his forehead off the table. “You wouldn't. No woman ever needs to see that. And Ms. Wallace, from what I've witnessed, you prefer the opposite.” He accordions his hands out in front of him, then pulls them apart to make the gap wider and wider. Yup, he is a big man.

“I do. Do you know where I can find such a thing?”

“My house. Tomorrow afternoon.”

“Great. Who are you inviting?” I tease.

“Ha ha, very funny. If you’re not careful, young lady. I will skinny dip before you arrive.”

“I’ll see your pressed stud then, Mr. Black.” I tip my hat. “It’s been a pleasure doing business with you.”

“It will be even more pleasurable tomorrow, Sunshine.”

“Can’t wait. Oh, and Knox.” I turn back around before opening the door. “My new clit ring has a little black heart at the top, just for you.” I wink. “When I swapped it over, I was thinking about you and made myself come. I was so wet for you.” I draw out the last words slowly, then suck my finger into my mouth.

“Get out.” He rubs his cock over his dress pants, then drops his head back on the table. “Wicked woman,” he mumbles.
