Unexpected Eva (Triple Trouble #3)(76)
Me: Ditto.
Ewan: You wait, Eva.
Me: For what exactly? Good night, Ewan. Until the morning. Lawyer—informed. Police—informed. I think we’re done here.
Screw Ewan. I’m going to the police station first thing in the morning.
Despite my new comfortable bed and new locks, I toss and turn. Ewan scares me and he always finds a way in. I don’t think I can take it anymore.
The rash on my neck prickles with heat. I give it a good scratch to relieve the itch. I grab my phone.
Me: I’ve decided to file a police report.
I get an instant response.
Knox: Wise decision.
Me: Ewan tried to get in the house tonight. You were right.
Knox: Are you okay? The boys?
Me: Yes, they are sound asleep. Oblivious. Would you come with me tomorrow?
Knox: I’ll meet you in the station car park at 9:10 a.m. after school drop-off.
He remembers all the details of my daily routine. It’s very sweet.
Me: Thank you.
Knox: I might even bring you a tea and some breakfast.
Me: That would be lovely. We need to be careful, though. I hope no one sees us.
Knox: I’ll say I was there about hotel business.
Me: Good plan. See you tomorrow.
If only for a couple of minutes, I’ll cherish those.
Knox: Good night, baby. Call me if Ewan acts up before sunrise. I am here for you. xoxo Me: I promise I will. xoxo
This is too hard. I want to show him off. Show the world he’s mine. Share him with my friends and family.
Disclose how utterly smitten I am with him.
Ella and Eden can’t keep their hands off their men. I want that too.
Crave it.
Three weeks feels like an eternity.
But with Ella’s wedding to help plan, the boys to juggle, meetings with my lawyer, and instructing dance classes too, the weeks will fly by.
Let’s hope they do.
CHAPTER 17
Knox
As if the time-space continuum is doing everything to mess with me, the last couple of weeks appear to be the longest on record.
Eva and I have only seen each other a handful of times, twice for dance lessons and twice in my office, because she doesn't want to take advantage of her parents. Plus, she loves her boys and likes her downtime on the weekends with them.
She’s a great mother.
The sooner we tell everyone, the sooner we can all spend more time together.
Our secret lunchtime trysts are fun, especially when Eva has to be gagged with my tie to keep her quiet. Yup, she’s my ultimate fantasy come true and Eva’s pierced pussy for lunch on my desk was the highlight of my week; it was the fucking best.
I have to rub myself under the desk to readjust my twitching cock at that memory.
This is not the time nor the place, Knox.
Eva and her sisters signed the contract to seal our deal for our dance retreat partnership, too. Enjoying Eva for lunch was a celebration of sorts.
And then of course there was filing the police report for Eva's disappearing furniture and Ewan’s continued threats. Conveniently, I found myself at the police station following the vandalization of my P1 McLaren. From front to back, someone kindly keyed the entire driver’s side of my car.
Fucking asshole.
Lincoln had borrowed it the day before and neither of us can remember if it was there already or keyed when he or I used it.
Being extremely particular where we park the car, it was most unexpected and baffled the pair of us.
Lincoln recalled parking it in the town center when he ran into the local bakery, so it may have happened then, but the CCTV showed nothing either. It’s currently in the shop being repainted and should be ready today. It will never be the same. I’m tempted to sell it.
Following Eva’s explained situation to the police about her missing furniture and the text messaging evidence, an injunction was issued by the court against Ewan.
Veronica moved swiftly and within forty-eight hours he was no longer allowed to enter or be near her home.
She’s finally protected.
He was forced to move out of his girlfriend, Ruby’s, house and move back in with his parents.
The only slight kick in the teeth for Eva is that Ewan is forbidden to pick up the children from school, making her life even more hectic.
Being the kindhearted soul Eva is, she agreed to Ewan having access to the boys on the condition Ewan’s parents were present at all times.
I’m proud of how strong she is. She’s a warrior.
I could do without this duller than dishwater Castleview Business Circle meeting today. Neither Beth or Toni can make it today, which I am gutted about. They both have a way of lightening these meetings. We always hold them here at my hotel. We have the best facilities around and it makes sense. Bimonthly, twenty of us, along with the governing body for Scottish tourism, meet to discuss the promotion of our unique town.
We may be small, but the championship golf courses set us apart from all the other seaside towns around.
With the winter wind down, like us at the hotel, it’s a time for many businesses in Castleview to revamp and remodel, and today’s meeting is more of a catch-up than a strategy plan, which suits me just fine.
