Unexpected Eva (Triple Trouble #3)(47)

Yup, definitely saucy, this lot.

I fumble a bit before finding a comfortable hold and look down at the smiling gummy baby in my arms.

“Hey, wee fella.” He grabs my nose firmly. Boy’s got some grip.

“That’s Lewis in your arms, by the way. And I’m Hunter.” Hunter reaches out to shake my hand. “We’ve met before. A few years ago. I think it was the first time I won the Championship Cup. I stayed at your hotel.”

Fraser scoffs. “You always have to rub that in, don't you? Because you’ve won twice now.” Fraser rolls his eyes.

Hunter rubs his middle finger up the side of his nose, subtly giving Fraser the bird. “Yeah, man, won the girl and the Cup. Twice. And three babies. I have strong aim, powerful shots.” He grins wide, then kisses his son’s head.

“Fucking prick,” Fraser mumbles under his breath. “Next time, King, next time. And you can keep the triplets. Never happening. Nope. No to the triplets.” He shudders.

“Keep dreaming,” Hunter bites back. “I would laugh my ass off if you had triplets. What we think, we attract.” Hunter swallows a laugh.

“Yeah, wow. Triplets.” I shudder at that thought, too.

“Over and done with. No more.” Hunter cuts an invisible line through the air.

Fraser looks at me. “I’d piss myself laughing if they had another set of triplets. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.”

“Whatever, asshole,” Hunter says, making sure Hamish and Archie aren’t within earshot.

They both clearly like winding each other up.

Nice guys. I like them.

I know Fraser and his family very well. Fraser’s father has carried out some emergency plumbing work for me in the past and his mom works at the local grocery store. I can’t remember a time when she didn’t work in the checkout there.

“How are you, Knox? And how is Linc? I haven’t seen him in a while.”

“He’s great. Working nights while we remodel over the winter. How’s your mom doing? I was sorry to hear about her breast cancer. How is her treatment going?”

“She’s better. Well, not better. But better than she was. The treatment is messing with her appetite and has made her feel pretty grim, but she’s finished her radiotherapy. Now we wait to see if it worked.” A heavy sigh escapes his lips.

“Will you pass on my regards to your mom and dad? They’re a great couple, Fraser.”

“Sure will. Thanks, Knox. And tell Linc to get in touch. We’re due a night out.”

“He’s out this weekend. Something about old school friends. Let me give you his number.” I fish my phone out of my pocket awkwardly. I’d forgotten how difficult it was to juggle a happy bundle of baby and do anything else at the same time.

“I’ll AirDrop it to you now.”

Fraser quickly saves Linc’s contact details. “Cheers for that.” Fraser turns to comfort the little squirming bundle in his arms. “C’mon, Lennox. Be good for Uncle Fraser.” He snuggles him into his chest. “It’s almost your bath, bottle, and bedtime, wee man.” Lennox rubs his nose with his chubby hand and gives a big gummy yawn as Fraser smooths his hand down his back.

This family is so in tune with each other.

By process of elimination, it means Hunter has Lachlan in his arms.

Lewis. Lennox. Lachlan. Triplets.

Fuck that. That sounds like many years of sleepless nights.

Poor Hunter and Eden. Although they look happy. They are happy. You can feel it.

“Okay.” Eden claps her hands. “Are you ready, Archie? You wanted this.” She smiles at her white-blond nephew.

“Yes. Can I join in, Aunty Eden?”

“Of course.”

Ella moves into position. “You watch for my signal, Archie. Right girls, let’s do this.”

“It had better not be a sexy dance, Eden,” Hunter warns.

In a private manner, Fraser tilts his head my way and says through the side of his mouth, “He'll come in his pants like a college boy if it’s a sexy dance. He can’t control himself around Eden.”

I snort.

“Oh, fuck off, Fraser.” Hunter’s brows hunch together. “Who am I kidding? Eden's just too sexy. I mean, look at that bubble butt. No panties. She’s fucking teasing me. And then when the boobs jiggle. It’s all too much. I can’t take it. Dancing’s the reason we have three babies,” he says with a serious face.

I have to hide my amusement. Hunter is not what I imagined him to be like at all.

He’s a great guy. Playful and honest. Way too honest.

I know what he means. I paid eighty thousand pounds to dance with Eva. I’ve watched Eva dancing. Quite a bit actually. More than I would care to admit to anyone. And I can see how triplet babies would happen.

These girls are sweetness personified but deadly provocative.

Definitely trouble.

Triple shots of trouble.

“This one is for you, Fraser,” Ella points at him, then throws a sexy wink his way.

“Oh, yeah?” His brows fly up.

“Yes!” Ella confirms.

Eva laughs, shaking her head. “God, you guys are sickeningly in love.”

“Stop the hating, out-of-love Eva. It’ll be you again one day. Love will find you.” Eden pats her on the shoulder.
