“So that’s Fallon,” Elli said with a smile. “Her sister, Audrey, my best friend, Harper, her sisters, Piper and Reese. We are all good friends, and for the first time in, like, ever, none of us are pregnant.”

That had everyone snickering as Kacey grinned, cuddling Mena. “It’s great to meet you. Your husbands are great to work with, and I’m excited to get to work on you guys too.”

“Why am I scared?” Audrey asked, wrapping her arms around her middle as she took Kacey in.

“Because she’s gonna kill us,” Piper muttered, eyeing her too, and Kacey smiled.

“Just a little, and you won’t be able to walk tomorrow. But in six months, I bet all of you will be down at least twenty pounds,” she said happily before laying Mena in her playpen. “Now let’s get started.”

Kacey had been playing and working out with women her whole life, but working out with the Assassins’ wives was a whole other thing. Unlike the Assassins’ men, who were focused and ready to work, the women were everything but. They were chatty, talking about everything and anything. And while it was good that they all got along, she did have a job to do, and that was to make them work.

“Shea does the same thing. It drives me crazy. What is your obsession with my ass?” Elli complained.

“Right!? Erik is all about it, and I’m like whoa, dude, it’s an exit,” Piper agreed as a few of them snickered.

“I like it every once in a while. Especially when I’m drunk, makes me feel like a sexy porn star,” Reese commented as she lay on her belly, when she was supposed to be planking.

“Ew, you’re such a closet slut,” Piper blanched and Reese glared.

“Hey now, just cause she likes it in the ass doesn’t make her a slut,” Lacey called. “I like it a lot, and I don’t have to be drunk.”

“And I just threw up,” Kacey said, Audrey laughing beside her. “Okay, guys, come on, this is your workout. So if you don’t do it to the full extreme, don’t be bitching later when you aren’t losing weight or toning up.”

They all groaned and finally got to work, while Kacey watched. Eventually, each of them was working her ass off and Kacey was extremely pleased. She liked this and she was good at it. When she decided to go to school for nutrition and personal training, she never thought she could use it except for training and massage therapy for a sports team. But maybe she could make it into a little business.

She actually had an interview with the board of directors for the coaching position over at Bellevue, but did she really want it? She would have to travel, and that would mean that her and Jordie’s schedules could conflict. But if she had her own little business for training, she wouldn’t have to go anywhere.

Hm. That was an idea.

As they finished up, all the women were dripping with sweat and Audrey had thrown up twice. She was the least fit one of the group, but she still worked her ass off and killed it. “You did great, Audrey.”

She waved her off, gagging, which in return had Kacey’s stomach lurching. It had been doing that a lot lately. Little things making her super pukey. It was weird and annoying.

“So while I have all of us here,” Lacey said, stealing Kacey’s attention from where she was grasping her belly. “I am working on a sports bra and workout pants line for the shop. It’s gonna be really hip and flirty, and I was thinking that we could do another Assassins’ wives photo shoot. The last one went so wonderfully.”

And it had. Lacey had been featured in all kinds of sports magazines and even fashion magazines. She was convinced that the spread about the Assassins’ wives was what made her successful. Truthfully, it was because Lacey had the biggest heart imaginable and loved helping breast cancer survivors.

“If I lose some weight, yes,” Audrey agreed, and that was everyone else’s opinion too.

“I got all of you. As long as you stick to the food plans and my workouts, you’ll all get there.”

They didn’t seem very enthused, but they said bye while hugging her tightly, which she guessed meant she was in the in-crowd with the Assassins’ power ladies. As Elli left to go upstairs, letting them know she’d lock up, Kacey helped Lacey get Mena ready to go. As Kacey lifted her out of the pack ’n play, Mena coughed and then white gunk came flying out of her mouth, landing on Kacey’s chest. Heaving, she held Mena out, looking the other way to keep from gagging. The gunk she threw up was hot and ran down her chest into her cleavage, and soon, Kacey couldn’t hold it. Handing Mena to Lacey, she rushed to the trash can and threw up her life.

“It’s spit-up, you baby,” Lacey teased as Kacey’s sides heaved as she puked.

“It smells,” she gasped, her stomach lurching, and then she was puking again.

“You’re ridiculous,” Lacey decided, putting Mena into her car seat.

“Shut up, I’ve been really icky lately,” she said, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.

“You pregnant?” Lacey joked and Kacey paused.

Oh, shit. Was she?

“No, I can’t be. I have an IUD in.”

“Didn’t you have that when you got pregnant before?”

She had. Shit.

“I did,” she said, pausing. Reaching up, she grabbed her boobs, but they didn’t ache like they had before.
