Help Me Remember (Rose Canyon, #1)(88)
My legs begin to quake as his thumbs move inward, brushing against my entrance. He moans as my thighs tighten around his face, and I try so hard to hold on.
He moves his thumb more, pushing up and circling as he continues to move against my clit.
“Spencer. I’m close,” I warn him. “I’m so close.” He does it again and then moves his thumb back farther, pulling my ass cheeks apart. I gasp when his finger rims around the hole. “Oh God.” I moan louder. He breaches, just slightly, and the sensations are too much. I shatter, unable to hold back.
He grabs my ass, keeping me steady as he drains every last ounce of pleasure from my body. I am probably suffocating him, but I am falling to pieces, and he’s the only thing keeping me together.
Spencer adjusts my legs, and I flop down on the bed. “That was . . .” I pant.
“Just the beginning.” He doesn’t pause before settling between my thighs and pushing against my opening just enough to tease me. “I want you this way. I want nothing between us. I want to make love to you without barriers.”
“What if we . . . what if I get pregnant?” I ask.
“Would you want that? A baby? A family . . . with me?”
He hesitates on the last part, and my heart breaks. Spencer has always been forgotten by everyone, including me. When he proposed, he said he wanted a life, a family, a future filled with everything I could want. Being a mom, having my own family, is what I long for.
I smile up at him, tears pooling and making him blurry. “I want everything with you. I always have.”
“If it happens . . .”
“It happens.” I bring his lips to mine. “I love you, Spencer Cross, and I need you now. Nothing between us.”
He slides into me, filling every crack that has been left from the past. He makes me complete, and I never want this to end.
Lying here, the sheet wrapped around us and the sun streaming in from the window, feels like that memory I had, only better. This is real and amazing and I feel safe.
Then I remember there’s a crazy person on the loose. “Do you think Emmett found him?”
“If he hasn’t, Quinn will.”
I lift my head at that. “Quinn?”
“Yeah, he’s doing his own investigating.”
I’m not sure why I’m surprised by this, but I am. “When did you send Quinn out on this mission?”
“When I knew I was going to strip you down and make you scream. I figured you’d appreciate the privacy. Plus, I wasn’t about to let you out of my sight so I could do it.”
“I mean . . . that was the right move, but I’m surprised you let me be here without a trained gunman.”
He laughs. “Sweetheart, I am a trained gunman. You are equally as safe with me as you are with Quinn.”
I shrug and tilt my head to the side. “Are you sure? Quinn never does this.”
“He better fucking not.”
“I’m just saying, am I all that safe right now?”
“Brielle, I would fight until there was literally no breath left inside of me to keep you safe. No one will get close to you. I have the team around just in case, but right here, in my house, you’re safe.”
I believe him. I’m just a little wary. “No one has seen Bill or his family?”
Spencer sighs. “No.”
“And no one at the center checked on Myles?”
He runs his fingers up and down my spine. “Not that I know of.”
I sit up, pulling the sheet with me. “We have to find them! He will hurt them. I don’t remember everything that was in those files, but he was beating Sonya. Myles had bruises too. He would tell me about his father and the things he was doing for someone or something . . . I don’t know. It was bad and I . . . we can’t stay here while that kid is in danger.”
“Brie, you’re not . . .”
I am already climbing out of the bed. “I am going to help find that boy. He is innocent in all this. I never filed the paperwork, so he’s been with him for over a month without anyone knowing the danger he’s in!” I have to help that kid.
“Brielle, stop. You’re not going to find him.”
“I can’t just sit here.”
“I didn’t say to do that,” Spencer says with exasperation. “I know you want to help him, we all do. There is a team of trained SEALs and the whole police department looking, and that’s not including the citizens who are keeping an eye out for anyone in the family. So, for just one second, can I relish in having my girl back?”
I shake my head, pulling my pants on. “I love you, and I will be yours for a very long time, but you know that I could never let this go.”
He flops back against the pillow, groaning as he covers his face. “I’m in love with a madwoman.”
I laugh a little and then lean in to kiss him. “Get up. We have paperwork to take care of.”
Spencer grabs my wrist, halting me from grabbing my shirt. “I want a different type of paperwork done.”
“What?”
“I want us to get married.” His green eyes bore into my blue ones. “I want to marry you. I want to be able to do all the things I couldn’t when you were in the hospital. I want to put that ring and another one on your finger and marry you in front of our friends and your family.”
