Blessed Tragedy(27)
“What? Someone want to tell me what the f*ck is going on?” At some point, Colton was going to wake up and realize that his newly pierced cock was the cause for the current commotion. I couldn't wait to see how that was going to play out. But first, I wanted to figure out what in the hell had possessed my boyfriend to get a Prince Albert and not tell me about it.
“You okay in here?” Jon asked me, doing everything possible to avoid eye contact with either of us. Obviously, the fact that I was unable to take my eyes off Colton's midsection was more than explanation enough for my outburst.
“Well...uh...yes Jon, you can go.” I pressed my lips between my teeth, not wanting to laugh as Colton started to become more aware of what was going on in the room.
He yanked the sheet up to his chest, realizing he'd been on full display not only for me but for the men standing in the open doorway. “Dude, get the f*ck out!” He spat.
Jon and Travis shook their heads as Jon pulled the door closed. I heard them laughing hysterically as they jogged back downstairs.
“What were they doing in here?” Colt asked, rubbing his eyes.
“They came up to see what was going on. They're gentlemen like that; they come running when they hear a woman freaking out.”
I was still a little stunned by my discovery. And just a little pissed that he'd let me freak out, thinking he'd changed his mind about me for the better part of the day.
“Yeah, what was that about anyway?” He must have been good and asleep because he didn't appear to be playing dumb.
“You're kidding me, right?” I shook my head, lifting the sheet to get another look now that my heart rate was returning to normal.
For a man as intelligent as I know Colton is times like these make me wonder about him. Even with me staring at his hard, recently pierced penis, it took him a minute to catch on.
“Oh, that...”
“Uh, yeah. That. What in the hell did you do?” There was no way to avoid laughing as I asked that question. What he did was quite apparent. It was the why and when I really wanted to know.
“Well, I thought about it for a long time, but it seemed stupid to put myself through that pain if there was no one in my life to enjoy it.”
My mouth went slack as I tried to process his casual explanation. While I could see the logic, it made no sense at the same time. To me, body modification had always been about expressing myself and taking control of my own appearance. I would never get pierced because of someone else. The fact that he would, especially in such an intimate way, made me a little uncomfortable given our brief time together.
“So, I agreed to see where things will go with us and you rushed out and had someone ram a barbell through your dick? That's kinda f*cked up.”
I jumped out of the bed, needing some space between us before I decided to go exploring. Yes, it was a bit creepy that he'd done this and claimed it was because he had someone, me, in his life now, but that didn't mean the thought of it wasn't hot as all hell.
“Baby, it's not like that.” Now fully covered by a pair of baggy sweatpants, Colton joined me at the floor-to-ceiling ceiling windows. “I didn't do it as some freakish way to keep you happy. I'll admit, I'm looking forward to that too, but I've been thinking about it for a long time. But face it, that's not the type of thing you do when the only action you're seeing is your own palm.”
I buried my face in his chest as my body heaved with laughter. Only my Colt could be so incredibly eloquent at a time like this. There's a reason Jon doesn't let him write lyrics.
“Okay, so I'll try to forget that part. But why didn't you tell me? And when did you do it? And how did you plan to keep me from finding out?”
“I did it the day you left.” His shoulders slumped forward, disappointment painted on his face. “I had no desire to keep it from you, but let's just say it hasn't healed as quickly as I would have liked. I was actually hoping to surprise you with it when you got back.”
I laughed again, feeling bad that it was the only reaction he was getting out of me now that the shock had worn off. “Well, you managed the surprise part of it all right.”
Chapter Fourteen
Colton taking himself out of commission for a while turned out to be one of the best things that could have happened for the band. My fears about us being so wrapped up in one another we were incapable of doing the work that needed to be done became a non-issue and Colton threw every ounce of pent up sexual frustration into writing as much as possible. The result was a series of hard-hitting songs just enough of a departure from what we'd done in the past that we were all hopeful we had found our golden ticket to the next level.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to the day he told me it was go time and I got to try out his piercing, but in the meantime, I was enjoying the copious amounts of attention he was paying to my needs. I think Colton felt bad for not thinking through his decision and underestimating the recovery time involved and he chose to make it up to me by seeing how much fun we could have without intercourse.
Some nights, it was sweet and romantic; a moonlit walk along the beach, a full service bubble bath or a massage. Other nights, he made it his personal mission in life to give me as many orgasms as possible without penetration. Still, by the day we hit the road to Memphis, I would have considered trading all of those moments for one good, hard f*ck.
“Hey man, are you gonna make use of that bed before we ship out?” Jon asked, slapping the back of Colton's head. Every morning was the same; Jon, Travis and Jared giving Colton shit because he finally had a woman in his life and wasn't able to “use and abuse her.”
“That's between me and Rain. Fuck off.” Every day, Colton saw a little bit less humor in their ribbing.
Travis sat down across the table from us with his plate of pancakes and bacon. “No, I think that's the whole point, man. That's the one thing that apparently hasn't been between the two of you since she got back.”
“Shut the hell up, Trav,” I barked. “Not that it's any of your business but what he's made up for in using and abusing, he's more than made up for in other ways. Amazing ways. Ways I'm pretty sure none of you twisted bastards could even think about pleasing a woman.”
Yeah, I was laying it on pretty thick, but truth be told, I was tired of what was or was not happening in my bedroom being the main topic of breakfast chatter.
“So, did you get Rain a leash to attach to it for when you're out in public? Smart move that way, man. This way she doesn't have to latch right onto your cock to pull you around by the balls and you can have some running room.” I really wondered about Jon's sex life after a week of hearing his suggestions on what could be done with Colt's newest piercing. Honestly, I felt bad for any woman he might wind up in bed with. He really was a depraved man with an active imagination.
Just as he did every morning, Jared sat back and tried to stay out of the back and forth. The poor guy hung around when the rest of the road crew left because Jon and Colton wanted him to work on a few songs and possibly join us on stage during the summer tour. He wasn't a member of the band but he was more than a roadie and that left him in a sort of no-man's land where he no longer fit with anyone.
“Hey Jared, you wanna help me with something?” I had no clue what I was going to have him help me with but he needed a break from these *s. If he didn't get it now, there was no way he was going to make it on the bus.
Colton shot me an inquisitive look. I leaned over and kissed the crown of his head. “Don't worry, just giving him a little space. We'll be back,” I whispered so Jon and Travis couldn't hear. They didn't need to know what was going on and I didn't want them giving Jared shit. Over the past two weeks, he and I had gotten to know one another and he was almost like the little brother I never had.
“Uh, sure.” Jared downed the rest of his coffee and followed me to the garage.
“Grab the keys to the Q7. I'll grab the Challenger. We're going to get the cars cleaned and grab supplies.” Morning and quick thinking were two things that never went hand in hand for me, but both were legitimate errands that needed to be run today.
“Uh, Colt gonna be cool with that?” The boy was cute but damn, if they did bring him into the band fulltime, he was going to have to lose the sweet, innocent boy act. Jon would chew him up and spit him out and then ask what else there was to eat.
“Yes, he'll be fine. That's why you're taking the Q7. We'll hit the car wash first, then Target and the grocery store.”
Shortly after noon, I sent Jared back to the house with everything that needed to be thrown into one of the rental cars so I could finish the rest of my shopping without his company. He was far too sweet and innocent for what I had to pick up. Three stops later and I was headed back to our beachfront sanctuary.
