Fractured Freedom(7)

He rubbed his head. “You know, I kept telling myself through all this that even though it’s going to be over after this one time, I’ll still have that card you gave me, that I’ll cherish it for a very long time, even if you tricked me into taking it. Now, I’m not sure I’m happy with just the taste of you.”

His words sent shivers down my spine. “When do you deploy again?”

“I don’t know yet. But I’m here for a week at least. Then I’ll fly back to base.”

I clutched at my sheet. “Maybe I can see you again tomorrow?”

His gaze ping-ponged around my room and then outside like he was debating everything. “You’re the only damn person I would risk my friendship with your brothers for. You know that? We have to do this right if we want to go further. Got it?” he asked as he started to pull his jeans on. He tucked his cock back in them and pulled the gray T-shirt over his abs. I salivated the whole time. “Delilah, focus.”

My eyes snapped to his as they sparkled at me with what I knew was humor. He liked that I couldn’t stop staring. “Sorry. Um, right. Like I said, the family’s out of town. I have to pack for the dorm, so I stayed home, but the house is empty. We can hang out here.”

“I’m proud as hell that you’re going to that college, by the way. It sounds big. Ma said it’s hard to get in there. Make sure you’re careful. Keep your grades up.”

“Right.” I rolled my eyes. Didn’t anyone care about anything but my grades? “I’ll do that while I remember exactly what you told me.”

“What’s that?”

“That when I come as hard as I do with you, I’m getting fucked right.” I lifted a brow. I said it to shock him and piss him off, mostly for acting like he could give me big brother advice after having his dick up my pussy before any other man had.

Yet, he didn’t take offense. He stalked forward and bent at the waist to grab my chin and have me look up at him. “You better make sure of it. No one deserves you if they can’t fuck you like me.”

“Really?” I quirked my head. “What if I can’t find that?”

“I’m starting to think I don’t want you to.” The muscles in his jaw ticked. Something in him shifted, a weight came down on us that I wasn’t ready for. His eyes grew dark, troubled, and cold. “Before, I would have told you I’m the only one who deserves you, Lilah. Now, I know that’s not true. But I have a week to make you know what it is you deserve.”

“Before what, Dante?”

He shook his head and then pulled my bottom lip from my teeth where I was worrying over his words all of a sudden. Then he kissed me slow and deliberately. There was no hunger anymore. This kiss was a goodnight one. When he pulled back, his green eyes were warm and full of charm again. It was a mask to fend off anyone trying to get something more from him. “Hey, tomorrow, be ready for me, huh?”

I nodded. “Ready right now.”

“Don’t tempt me. I have to get back before my mom gets suspicious.”

Take Best Friend’s Sister’s V-Card

Dante

It’d been a week.

One week of having her all to myself.

“Lilah,” I whispered.

She murmured in her sleep and rolled over enough that the sheets lowered to expose her breasts to me. I’d marked them for probably the fifth time this week and didn’t hesitate to run a finger over a bite mark.

I was going to hell. Not just the normal hell but the inferno. All the rings. Every fucking circle. My name was completely and utterly on point in this instance.

Dex, Dominic, Dimitri, and Declan were going to kill me. They’d fought off probably half the male population to protect their sisters over the years. I’d fought off the other half and Garrett and David would be getting their ass beat by me, too.

Lilah was the town’s angel. I’d told them time and time again. Those guys knew that.

Everyone did.

She was sweet and pretty in every way known to man. Her curls had been like Shirley Temple’s until she was about twelve, and even then, her cheeks still got as rosy as the actress’s when she was embarrassed. Her innocence shouldn’t have been tainted by anything, ever. It was the one thing I’d looked forward to when I came home from leave, the way she’d blush when I gave her a trinket or the way I’d get a shy smile when I said hello to her sitting quietly at a family birthday. Her only flaws were that her heart was too big, her fear too great, and her need to do right too strong for us to be anything but friendly over the years.

Until we were more than friendly this week.

Damn, I didn’t belong anywhere near her, but I’d been toeing that line for too long.

Our night together was probably bound to happen one way or the other.

I’d stared at Delilah for a whole fucking year in a way I shouldn’t have. I swear, she turned seventeen and I saw her in a whole new light.

She’d always been an untouchable, beautiful girl, but I’d never considered anything more until she’d jumped in my car one day when I’d offered to drive her to school while on leave.

She’d turned seventeen that summer.

I’d been over in Afghanistan, graduated to Delta Force after being a Special Ops Ranger for three years. They’d psych-tested me, looked into my family history, and ran me through a physical that most rangers probably couldn’t pass.
