Devastated (Anger Management, #1)(56)

“Why?” Kylie asked even as she had to admit that she should probably be more concerned with the fact that Hunter was pulling her panties down.

“Something came up,” he murmured, making her roll her eyes because that was the corniest thing that she’d ever-

“Oh, God,” she choked out when she felt Hunter run the tip of his cock slowly up the back of her thigh.

“I was thinking, Miss Baker,” Hunter said, as he slowly traced a path up her thigh and around her bottom before running the tip down her other thigh as her hands fisted against the carpet.

“About?” Kylie somehow managed to get out as her eyes slid closed as he slowly ran his cock back around her bottom and—

Made her gasp when he ran the tip of his cock down her bottom.

“Things,” Hunter murmured absently, as he ran the tip of his cock over her slit.

“Okay,” Kylie found herself saying as she licked her lips.

“Okay, what?” the man that seemed to really enjoy tormenting her asked, as he continued to slowly tease her slit.

“I-I have no idea,” she admitted, worrying her bottom lip as she fought against the urge to push back and put them both out of their miseries, but…

She was afraid to take that next step.

Considering all the things that they’d been doing over the past few weeks, sex shouldn’t be an issue at this point. It was just sex, but no matter how many times she told herself that she still couldn’t take the next step. Hunter never brought it up, never pushed for more, but she knew that he had to be getting tired of waiting. It was just the idea of taking that next step that scared the hell out of her and she had no idea why.

Chapter 30

Halloween

“You’re missing the best part,” Hunter said, as he took his time searching through the large bowl of Halloween candy that Kylie had been hoarding for the past month.

“That’s not for you,” the woman who was hiding beneath the blanket said, as she reached back and pushed the bowl of candy away before yanking the blanket back over her head, shifting to get more comfortable on his lap, and promptly snuggled back against his chest.

“Then who’s it for?” he asked, grabbing a snack-sized Snickers bar from the bowl.

“Trick-or-treaters,” Kylie said, sneaking her hand back out so that she could pluck the candy bar out of his hand and toss it back in the bowl.

“The trick-or-treaters aren’t going to come here, Miss Andersen,” Hunter said, sighing heavily as he wrapped his arms back around her.

“They might come,” Kylie said, sounding hopeful.

He doubted that any of his neighbors would let their kids come to this house after he’d told the welcome wagon to fuck off, but since she hadn’t been here when that happened, he’d decided that it was probably better if he didn’t mention it. Instead, he focused on the small woman in his arms.

“Are you going to watch the movie?” Hunter asked, slowly pulling the blanket down so that he could see that adorable glare that he loved so much.

“No,” she said with a sniffle as she pulled the blanket back up.

“You told me to pick a movie,” he reminded her as he pulled the blanket back down.

“A Halloween movie,” Kylie stressed before gesturing towards the movie where someone else was getting cut up with a chainsaw. “Not this.”

“What’s wrong with this?” Hunter asked, as he pulled the blanket down to her waist before she could hide behind it again.

“It’s not a Halloween movie?” she said, reaching for the blanket only to grumble something else when he pulled it out of her reach.

“It’s a scary movie. It’s the very definition of a Halloween movie,” he pointed out, releasing his hold on the blanket.

“I was hoping for a werewolf or perhaps a vampire,” Kylie mumbled sadly, as she made the mistake of glancing at the television only to end up squeezing her eyes shut, blindly reaching for the blanket and yanking it back over her head.

“I see,” Hunter murmured absently, as he reached for the blanket again. “What if I had something else in mind instead of watching horror movies all night?”

“Like what?” Kylie asked, grabbing the blanket out of his hand and yanking it back over her head.

“Things,” he said, noting the way that she went still beneath the blanket.

“What kind of things?” she asked, sounding intrigued.

“I was thinking that we could go for a walk outside,” he said, biting back a smile as the blanket slowly came back down.

“A walk outside?” she asked, as she held on tightly to that blanket just in case.

“I thought it would be nice to take a walk in the moonlight,” he murmured as he gently pulled the blanket away.

“That does sound nice,” Kylie said, looking relieved.

“Mmmhmm, I thought we’d shut off all the outside lights and take a stroll around the house to see if there were any homicidal maniacs waiting,” Hunter said, chuckling when she grabbed the blanket and yanked it back up with a, “I really hate you.”

“You don’t mean that, Miss Boyd.”

“I really do,” Kylie said, as he decided to take pity on her and reached for the remote only to sigh when the doorbell rang.
