Before I Let Go (Skyland #1)(66)

“Evren.”

He lifted and took a step back from me before he ripped my trousers off me completely.

My thighs were slick with my want for him, and I tried to hide my shame as he pushed my legs apart and knelt on the bed between them. He ran his hand through the moisture that lied there with a moan on his lips before lifting his fingers to my lips.

“Taste it, princess. Taste what no other man will ever get from you.”

I wrapped my lips around his fingers and pressed my tongue to the tips as he watched me.

“Tell me you’re mine, Adara.” He pulled his fingers from my mouth and slowly ran them down my neck and onto my chest.

“I am yours.”

His eyes closed as if my words were intoxicating, and he gripped my thigh in his hand and lifted it until it pressed against his hip.

“No one can change that.” He looked back to me as he ran his length through my sex and caused me to squirm beneath him. He was looking at me like no one ever had before, and I didn’t know if it was that or the way he was touching me that made me feel like I would never come back from this desperation inside me. “No matter what happens tomorrow. You are mine, and I am yours.”

I nodded just as he pushed inside of me and stole the breath from my lips.

“You are my mate.” He thrust into me, and his chest came down against mine. His lips met mine, and he kissed me as he began moving inside me. “You are to be my wife, Adara. You are everything to me.”

“As you are to me.” I gripped my fingers in his hair and moved my hips beneath him. “You are all that I need, Evren. All that I want.”

He groaned against my mouth, and his hips slammed harder against me. I could feel it rising inside me, that pleasure that only he could give me, and when he ran his fingers along my ribs, I couldn’t stop the tremor that coursed through my body.

His teeth grazed over my neck, and my hips surged off the bed.

“When the threat of my brother is gone…” He moved his mouth over my collarbone, and I whimpered as I felt his teeth nip there. “I plan to do nothing but discover everything that makes you fall apart. I will spend days getting to know your body in a way that not even you can fathom.”

“Evren.” I clamped my eyes closed and pressed my head into the bed. It was climbing inside of me, and I felt like I was going to fall apart. Every part of me was fracturing, splintering in my need, and he was the only cure.

His lips pressed against my chest once more before he sat back onto his knees and gripped my hip in his hand. He didn’t stop moving inside me, and I cried out as his thumb brushed over my nub.

“Give it to me, princess.” He growled. “Let me have every part of you.”

I didn’t stand a chance of denying him. My body hummed under his command, and that dam inside of me broke lose as the pleasure he drew from my body came crashing through. He pressed his palm at the edge of my lower stomach, just before my sex, and he thrust into me hard.

I cried out and dug my fingers into his bedding. It was too much, the pleasure crashing into me, and I feared I would break, but Evren held me beneath him as he thrust into me one last time and found his own release.

He fell forward, his forehead pressing against my stomach, and neither of us spoke as we tried to catch our breath.

We stayed like that for a long moment before Evren pulled himself from my body and laid beside me. He pulled me toward him until my upper half was laying across his chest, and he kissed me lazily as the aftershocks still coursed through my body.

“Get some rest, princess. Tomorrow will come whether we want it to or not.”

CHAPTER 20

I wiped my sweating hands down the sides of my glittering black gown. The dress was provocative, a statement I was sure that my mate was trying to make. The neckline was deep and stopped just below the edge of my breastbone.

A simple string of diamonds fell against the base of my neck and drew attention there if you weren’t already drawn to the long slit that reached the top of my right thigh.

I was Evren’s mate, dripping in a black dress that looked so like him, like us, and I knew he wanted his brother to see that.

But my back was completely covered. Every bit of my mark was touched by fabric and shielded from everyone else’s eyes. The only marks they could see were those that lay along my cheeks. The rest were hidden, and it wasn’t because Evren wanted Gavril to know my power belonged to him.

But because it belonged to me.

My mark wasn’t a spectacle here, a damn trophy to be showed off. I was more than that, and Evren was making that clear.

The doors to the throne room opened, and a soft hush fell over the room as I stepped through. Gavril and his men stood at the base of Evren’s throne, but I didn’t dare look in his direction. I was too busy staring ahead at my mate who was watching my every move.

He tracked every step like a hunter waiting to strike, and even in a room full of people, my stomach dipped from the look in his eyes.

I could feel the others’ eyes on me as well, including Gavril’s, as I made my way toward him. The queen wasn’t in the room. Another power play from Evren. He was in charge here, and he wanted Gavril to know that.

He was his brother, but Evren was set to rule. And he would do so without fear of his brother.

My gaze fell on Jorah and Sorin who both stood at the base of the dais. Neither one were standing between Evren and Gavril, a clear stance that their prince didn’t need protection, but in unity.
