Claiming Crusher (Savage Brothers MC #4)(58)

I don’t say anything. She’s talking freely and my mind is busy making notes. Finding new layers to Dani that I didn’t know existed. Her fingers are tracing one of the tattoos on my chest, so I just continue stroking her hair and listening, afraid to bring her out of the place she seems to have slipped into.

“Slowly though, things started happening that set off alarm bells.”

So much for remaining quiet. When she doesn’t continue I urge her on, “Like what?” I have to have this information.

“Kissing me a little too rough, grabbing me when he was upset and leaving bruises. Things he would later apologize for. He would send me flowers or diamonds to make up. Until that one day.”

“What happened then?”

“It was innocent really. I was waiting for Michael at his home. He had his driver pick me up and told me to make myself at home, that he would be home late. He was stuck in Manhattan at the office.”

Manhattan? Drivers?

“He told me to bring my swim suit because we were going to fly to Rio for the weekend. I didn’t really want to go, Daddy insisted. I think he was planning even then, but I didn’t know it at the time.”

“Planning what?”

“Marrying me off so his company would merge with Michael’s. He had ideas of becoming the biggest shipping conglomerate in the world or at least the Eastern seaboard.”

My mind is reeling at the information. Holy f*ck. I had no idea.

“Since working late to Michael always meant really late and that meant not going to Rio, I decided to swim. I did my usual laps and laid in the chaise. I must have fell asleep…”

“What happened then?”

“When I woke up the gardener was standing over me. It scared me at first. He was Michael’s age, not as good-looking, but he had these beautiful blue eyes that shined. He was sweet. We talked about the flowers he was growing in the greenhouse. I fixed him a sandwich and we were still talking when Michael came home.”

“What happened then?” I asked when she got quiet.

“I learned my lesson,” she said and something about the way she said it made me not question her further.

“Why do you call me Hellcat?”

“Because you’re a * with claws,” I answer her easily.

“Gee, Zander that’s romantic.”

“But when I make you purr, it’s so good I just know I’d brave the fires of hell to have more.”

“That’s slightly better.”

“I try.”

“I should be sleepy,” she mumbles placing a kiss on my shoulder.

“You’re not?”

“Nope, not even a little bit,” she says and then gasps as I lift her on top of me.

“What are you doing?”

“Helping you get sleepy, Hellcat,” I tell her as I hold my cock and let her lower down on me. I watch my cock slowly disappear inside of her and can’t imagine a better feeling in the world. Her moan sounds like one of agreement.

Later that night while she’s sleeping I get out of bed and make my way to Freak’s office. It’s an attached room in the club. It’s bigger than the other members have, but then it is where the security feeds are kept, the businesses we own are monitored and whatever the hell else Freak does that is over my damned head.

“Hey what’s up, man?” He asks when I enter the room.

“I got a bigger lead on that Michael I had you searching for.”

“Well that’s good because I can’t find a Michael Smith that fits any of the details you gave me.”

“Yeah well, that’s because his last name isn’t Smith.”

“Well f*ck, Crush man, I can’t perform miracles. You have to get me the right information here.”

“I don’t have a last name but I have more details.”

Freak sighs, but gets a pen. “Go ahead, give it to me.”

“His name is Michael, * is loaded. He runs a large shipping business and it’s based in New York, possibly Manhattan.”

“Fuck me.”

“See what you come up with okay?”

“Yeah, okay I got some shit I’m working on for Dragon that comes first, but I’ll get to it tomorrow at the latest.”

“Good enough, just keep this between us, okay?”

“Does this mean more shit is headed towards the club?”

“This is personal, that’s all you need to know.”

“Whatever. Talk to you later.”

“You got it,” I tell him, closing the door. I know I promised Dani, but I am going to kill this motherf*cker and get rid of the ghosts I see in her eyes. She may get mad, but in the end she’ll thank me. I’m sure of it.

Chapter 27

Michael

“Do you have an update for me, Donald?” I ask while going through the files my secretary put on my desk. I have an important business meeting in the next thirty-minutes and I really don’t have time to fool with my f*cking cunt of a wife. Still, if the lead from Kentucky turns out to be solid, then I will act upon it. No woman makes a fool out of me, especially not Melinda.

“Yes sir, the person or persons questioning and looking into your business history was in fact traced back to the Savage Brothers Motorcycle Club, in London, Kentucky.”
