Unexpected Eva (Triple Trouble #3)(66)

I push myself off the bar and shove my hands into my jeans pockets. “I’m going home.”

“We are staying out.” Shane smiles mischievously. “Free pass.”

“You’ll last two more drinks. Maybe one at most.”

“Yeah, you’re right. I’m on a promise with Alice tonight if I get home before midnight and in one piece.” Corey stands wide, then runs his hands through his wild blond hair. It never looks tidy.

Alice and Corey met at university and have been together ever since.

It’s admirable.

Shane jumps in. “I should do the same. I hesitated the other day when Emma asked me if her new dress was nice so I’m on a blow job ban for a month. But maybe, just maybe, if I get home at a reasonable time tonight, she might reduce it.”

“You’re an asshole.” I chuckle.

They’re both pussywhipped, Shane, more so. He and Emma have been together since high school. Sickly sweet together and more in love than they have ever been.

I’m disappointed in myself for never finding what they both have.

It sucks.

Shane’s eyes fill with wanderlust. “She gives the best fucking head, man. Porn star status blow jobs. It’s the fucking eye contact and the deep throating. Honestly, man, she’s the fucking best. I would say you should try it, but I can’t allow that. Especially if she got her hands on you, you handsome rake.” He punches my arm.

“Fuck off.” Although I know what he means. Eva sucked me like a fucking porn star on Wednesday night. My cock twitches at the memory.

“I saw that too in Scottish Entrepreneur magazine. You’re officially the most sought-after bachelor in all of Scotland,” Corey confirms.

“What a pile of shit. I’m taken.” I think.

“Yeah, but they don’t know that. I don’t think anyone will touch you now; they all know your unhinged ex-girlfriend slept with your son.”

“Fuck, that’ll be in the paper tomorrow if word gets out. She wasn’t my girlfriend.”

They both laugh out loud.

“If you want that blow job, Shane, and if you want to get your brains fucked out tonight, Corey, then less of the lip. I can call my driver now and take you home to your good women.”

“Fuck it. He’s right. Let’s go home.” Corey downs the last of his beer.

We move to the exit. “Come on, then, dumb and dumber. I’ll text my driver.”

“Eh, we’re not the dumb ones. Mr. I Fucked Your Son.” Shane throws his head back with laughter.

Bastards. I am never living this one down.

“Better still, I’m fucking your daughter. You like living dangerously, Knox. What’s the fucking sex like with a younger woman anyway these days? I bet she can go all night.” Shane pushes the gigantic nightclub door open for us. “Your dick might fall off.”

“I’m surprised it hasn’t already. He’s been single for so long.” Corey begins banter ping-pong with Shane as if I’m not here. It’s their favorite game.

And so it begins.

“He should have married his hand.”

“Being a doctor, I can prescribe you Viagra.”

I stop listening as they continue mocking me.

My phone buzzes in my back pocket. Pulling it into my hand, I’m instantly relieved to see a sunshine emoji smiling back at me.

Eva: Didn’t want to hang around. Left with Lincoln. Divergence! Off to The Basement.

I quickly send a text to my driver.

He replies he’s already outside.

Good man.

I send Eva a reply.

Me: Are you still staying with me tonight?

Eva: Of course I am. I’m just having one drink. I have to sneak away from Lincoln, though.

Thank God, Tabby didn’t scare her away.

Olivia ran at the first hurdle. I want Eva to stick around. For good.

Me: I can send my driver for you once he drops me at the house.

Eva: Great idea. As long as he keeps his lips shut about us. Tell him to meet me on the corner of Elmwood Place.

Me: He’s not allowed to talk about anything involving my life. He’s contracted. I’m sorry about Tabby.

Eva: You should have told her this week you were through. Properly. Then she wouldn't have caused a scene tonight. We need to tread carefully with her.

Me: You’re right. I should have. I didn’t like the way she spoke to you.

Eva: Thank you for sticking up for me. She’s a very rude woman.

Me: See you are home, Sunshine.

Eva: Can’t wait Mr. black heart emoji xoxo

She put kisses and cuddles on the end of her text.

“What the fuck are you smiling at you lovesick fool?” Shane pushes my shoulder, making me stumble as we stride out into the freezing cobbled street.

“I’m not,” I protest.

“You are,” Corey says adamantly.

“I’m not.”

“You fucking are,” they both say in unison.

I am.

Eva

“Where are you going, Eva?”

Lincoln.

Aw, damn it all to hell. I turn back around on my sky-high heels on the steep steps.
