The Silence (Columbia River #2)(85)
He kissed her. It was done.
Mason enveloped her in a deep hug as everyone applauded and whistled.
“Not letting you ever get away, Special Agent McLane,” he whispered.
“Never.”
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
I’ve known for a few years that I’d left unanswered questions about Mason, Ava, and Jayne. I’d intended to return to them after I wrote a few Mercy Kilpatrick books. I had no idea that I would write six Mercy books. It felt good to write about these people again. Mason Callahan has been an important character in my books since my debut novel, Hidden, came out in 2012. Don’t be surprised if he and Ava pop up in future books. I love returning to old characters, and according to the emails I receive, my readers do too.
Thank you to my team at Montlake, who give me free rein to write about my favorite characters. They are amazing people, and every day I am grateful to work with them. Thank you to Charlotte Herscher, who has edited every book I’ve ever written. I’ve learned a lot over seventeen novels. Thank you to Meg Ruley, my amazing agent and number one cheerleader.
Thank you to Melinda Leigh, who always gets my butt in gear when I need it. Our friendship means the world to me. If you haven’t read her books, do it!
Thank you to my readers, who come back for more and write me kind notes. They make my day.
Thank you to my girls for being patient with a very distracted mom.
