The Bride Goes Rogue (The Fifth Avenue Rebels #3)(52)

When he finally broke free, he said, “Get on the bed.”

After she climbed onto the mattress, he stripped off her drawers and shoes. She started to remove her silk stockings, but he held up a hand, his eyes glittering. “Leave them. They make your legs look even longer.”

He liked her legs? She eased back and let him see all of her, no longer afraid of any flaws or imperfections he might see.

“You are breathtaking.” His gaze slowly traveled the length of her. “No man on earth could possibly deserve you, least of all me.”

“You definitely don’t deserve me, but you do owe me for ignoring me for a year. I think pleasure is a fair trade.”

The edge of his mouth curled, as if he liked the idea. “We’d best get started on repayment, then. Where should I begin?”

Instead of waiting for an answer, he crawled onto the bed and slid his hands under her bottom to push her higher on the mattress. “Spread your legs. Let me taste you again.” She complied, making room for his shoulders between her thighs, and his mouth descended. Without preamble, he dragged the flat of his tongue directly over her clitoris, causing her back to arch as her every nerve tingled. A cry escaped her throat, a helpless sound of pleading, her body begging for more. But he didn’t let up, giving her soft flicks and gentle nips, deep kisses and long licks.

He opened her wider and moved lower to swirl his tongue at her entrance. “You’re so wet and delicious,” he whispered. “God, I love the way you taste.”

Then he continued to worship her with his mouth, and her thighs began shaking, her body preparing for the release barreling down upon her. She threaded her fingers into his hair, needing to touch him or hurry him along—she wasn’t sure which. Her breath caught in her throat, lungs squeezed in anticipation, sensation rushing up too quickly. As if sensing her impending climax, he slid one finger into her channel and pleasure streaked through her instantly. Light exploded in every corner of her being, with Preston’s hands and mouth her only tether to the ground.

Before she’d stopped trembling, he slipped another finger into her channel, the walls contracting around the digit. The fullness felt so necessary, so perfect, that she cried out again, his touch dragging out her climax until she was limp. As she recovered, his fingers rested inside her and he kissed her sex softly, his dark head bent between her legs. He seemed in no hurry to move on to other business, and her brain was still floating somewhere up above them.

“Are you ready for more?” His voice was silky and dark, a temptation in itself.

If this was just a prelude to what she could expect tonight, then there was only one answer. “Absolutely.”

Chapter Sixteen

Preston stared at this beautiful woman in awe. That she was here, willing to sleep with him knowing it would never lead to marriage, humbled him. And the way she responded to him, with eagerness and boldness, made him unbelievably hard. He was dying to get inside her, to feel her slick walls gripping his cock.

Reaching for the drawer by the bed, he withdrew a tin containing a rubber shield. When he started to unwrap the packet she put a hand on his arm. “Wait,” she blurted.

“Having second thoughts? We don’t—”

“No, nothing like that. It’s just . . .” She bit her lip as her gaze darted to his cock. “I never had the chance to touch you before. You know, at the ball.”

A wave of heat spread through his groin as he imagined her hands—or her mouth—on his erection. Christ, he wanted that, but he was too excited at the moment. He’d spend in seconds if she touched him. “Later,” he promised. “You may do all the exploring you like after this first time.”

With the shield in place, he positioned himself between her thighs. Her sex was flushed and glistened with her arousal. Though he was dying for her, a sense of foreboding went through him, like he was about to make a grave mistake. “Are you sure, Kat?”

She rolled her eyes and reached for him, pulling him down, and the movement caused his tip to slip inside her. Even through the thick rubber he could feel the warmth of her body enveloping him, welcoming him. “Oh, God,” he breathed against her mouth, his eyelids slamming shut.

The need to thrust clawed inside him, but he had to go gently with her. He took several deep breaths and tried to regain his control. Normally he was much more disciplined in bed, not so frenzied.

This has to be good for her.

Her small palm cupped his jaw and featherlight kisses rained over his skin. She was giving him tenderness and care instead and, because he was a bastard, he soaked it in, letting it calm him. After a few seconds, his hands stopped shaking and the vise squeezing his balls eased just a fraction. Grateful, he kissed her, his lips sliding over hers while his body remained perfectly still. He tried to soothe her in return, impart how much he appreciated this gift. How thankful he was for her.

After that, it was easier to press in slowly, to widen her inch by agonizing inch. He didn’t want to hurt her, though he knew it probably would. Her walls strangled his cock, the tightest and most heavenly place he’d ever imagined. “That’s it,” he breathed in her ear. “Let me in, mon chaton.”

He felt her shiver against him, so he kept talking. “You’re going to like having me inside you, your body full of me. I’ll be so deep and when I start moving, you’ll see. It’ll be so perfect and lovely, just like you.”
