Taking Shots (Assassins, #1)(45)

“No baby, come here,” he said pulling her down next to him, kissing her neck, since he wasn’t sure if he had morning breath. “You were supposed to be sleeping next to me when I woke up,” he mumbled against her neck.

“I gotta go to work.”

“At,” he looked over at the clock “7:30?”

“I got some paperwork to do before my 10 o’clock.”

“Okay, I’m getting up,” he said as he nibbled on her neck. She let out a little moan.

“You don’t have to,” she gasped as he bit harder, “Harper is coming to get me.”

“No way. I’ll take you,” he said, pulling her on top of him. Her body lined up with his, she was so soft, so hot. He wrapped his arms around her middle, kissing her deeply, praying to God his breath wasn’t that bad, but he guessed it wasn’t since she kissed his back, cupping his face in her hands. Her legs fell to the sides of his waist, to where she was straddling him, her softness against his hardness, he was convinced he was about to come. “Jesus, Elli, you’re so f*cking hot,” he mumbled against her lips as he squeezed her hips in his hands, pressing her harder against him. She blushed, as she closed her eyes and kissed him again.

Then the damn doorbell rang.

Elli sat up and rolled off him.

“Hey, where you going?”

“It’s Harper!” she said with a grin as she walked out the room. Shea had never wanted someone as bad as he wanted Elli. “Let me say bye and I’ll be ready,” he heard her say as he got out the bed, moving his shaft up so it wasn’t too noticeable that he was as hard as a rock. Elli came back in the room, her heels clicking on the hardwood. She came around the bed, wrapping her arms around his neck, grinning up at him. “I gotta go.”

“Alright, what time you getting off?”

“I’ll probably be here at 6:15, we can leave by 7.”

“Sounds good.” He slapped her ass, making her jump in his arms.

“Shea!” She giggled as she leaned up to kiss his cheek. “I’ll see you later.”

“I’ll be waiting,” he said as she started to walk away, but he didn’t let her get far. Pulling her back in his arms, he kissed her hard. His hand slid up in her hair, his other hand cupping her sweet, perfect ass as he kissed her with all the passion that was building up inside of him. He wanted her so bad, and he wanted her to know it. He opened his eyes as they parted, staring into her beautiful green eyes. “Have a great day, baby.”

Elli giggled, putting her hand over her heart, “Shit, Shea, after a kiss like that, I’m pretty damn sure I will.” She leaned up kissing his laughing mouth before leaving with a wave. He heard the door shut and he smiled as he sat on the side of the bed Elli had slept on. He ran his hand down her pillow and took a deep breath as his mother’s words replayed in his head.

He’s head over heels.

Shit, was he?

Shea looked at clock; he didn’t have to be at practice until ten, so he had time. After jumping in the shower and getting dressed, he headed into the kitchen to see a plate of food on the counter with a note beside it.

Shea,

You’re gonna need to nuke the food, but I made you breakfast. Thanks for last night, the win, the dinner, the night in bed, it was all a dream come true. I hope you have a wonderful day, and I’ll see you tonight.

I’ll be thinking of you,

Elli

Shea grinned as he took his phone out of his pocket and dialed Elli’s number. As it rang, he put the food in the microwave and warmed the food.

“Hey.”

“You know, I’m not going to let you leave now.”

“Huh?” He laughed.

“You’re not allowed to go home, you keep my bed warm, even though you steal the covers, and you make me breakfast. You expect me to let you go home?” Elli giggled, he loved the sound, it made his smile bigger.

“I have to go home. Adler is there. His babysitter was only paid for yesterday and today.”

“Bring him here.”

“No way, he would hate it, he needs a field.”

Shea could live out there, no big deal.

“Fine, but that leads me to a question.”

“Oh goodness, should I be nervous?” He laughed.

“No, but anyways, did you name Adler after me?”

She went quiet for a moment, and then let out a sigh.

“I did.”

“So I am your favorite Assassins player?”

“You are,” she huffed out.

Shea didn’t think his smile could grow any bigger.

“So are you only dating me because of my employer?” he teased.

“Come on, really, Shea? You know why I’m dating you.”

“Why?”

“Cause you’re hot, duh.” He laughed as she giggled. He heard her moving around the office, and he had never felt so comfortable. Something about her made it so easy.

“I think you had your eyes on me since day one, your plan was to flirt with me, to get me in bed.”

Elli was fully laughing by now, and he was laughing just as hard. “For one, I didn’t flirt at all. If I remember correctly, I was a complete idiot, and second, you’re the one that got me in your bed.”
