Reckless Souls (Saints Academy, #1)(59)

on fire, burning for him just as bright as I was a moment ago when I screamed with pleasure.

“Your eyes,” he murmurs, sweat dripping between us as I frown at him.

“What about them?” I ask, blinking a few times, but I feel okay.

“They’re red.”

He says the words so matter of factly, that I imagine it’s exactly what I would say if I told him his

were amber. “No, my eyes are blue,” I reply, still trying to catch my breath, when the sound of fists

pounding on wood catches my attention. “What the hell?”

“Xander? Open the fucking door! Xander!”

The guys’ voices filter in, almost out of breath and filled with desperation, and it seems to kick us

both into motion. Slowly lowering me to the floor, I stand on wobbly legs as Xander places a gentle

kiss to my forehead, before zipping his jeans up and heading for the door.

Knowing the others are going to step in at any moment, I remember the state of my dress and

quickly try to cover my breasts the best I can. I knew I should have worn a fucking bra today.

Xander turns to look at me once more with his amber eyes, and a soft, calm, smile on his lips,

before he turns the handle, and the door swings wide open, forcing him to jump back a step.

Adonis, Khaos, and Zen storm the room, eyes searching as they flick between Xander and me. It’s

clear what we were doing, and I’m not ashamed of it, but the way they’re looking at us right now is

like we were having more than just sex.

“What the fuck was that?” Khaos barks, making my defenses rise as they step further into the

room, leaving the door wide open, and I slowly start to shuffle toward the exit as they glance at

Xander.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he retorts with a sigh, raking his fingers through his hair

as his eyes seem to soften again to the usual brown. It happens so quickly that I almost question if I

even saw them any other way.

“Like fuck you don’t,” Adonis grunts, hands on hips as he turns to look at me too. “Are her eyes

red?” he adds, moving to take a step toward me, and I lift my hand defensively, encouraging him to

stop where he is, which he thankfully does.

“Adonis, calm the fuck down, you’re pushing her in the wrong direction,” Zen says calmly, trying

to ease the situation, but that’s two people now who have said my eyes are red and I’m freaking the

fuck out.

“Me? Calm down? I’m not the one fucking Rhea the minute everybody else disappears,” he

throws back, glaring at Xander, who to my surprise smiles wide and proud at his friend.

“It wasn’t fucking,” Xander says with a shake of his head before turning his attention to me. “It

was more than that,” he adds, making my stomach clench as his cum trails down my legs, making me

squirm, and he immediately catches sight of it.

He moves to take a step toward me, ignoring his friends behind me as I still stand before them like

a deer caught in the headlights.

Get a fucking grip, Rhea.

“Why’s there glass all over the floor?” Khaos asks, and it’s my turn to shake my head at Xander as

he continues toward me, ignoring my silent plea.

I’m not explaining any of that. I can’t. I literally fucking can’t.

There’s too many people wanting to know too much I can’t explain, and I’m at my limit.

“I’m leaving. Don’t try and follow me,” I say firmly, using both hands to hold my dress together as

all four of them shake their heads in sync.

“Like fuck—”

“I said, I’m. Leaving. Don’t. Fucking. Follow. Me.”

My voice is low, lower than I’ve ever heard it before as every hair on the back of my neck stands

on end. The Elites look over at me with surprise in their eyes, none of them arguing, yet not agreeing

either as I edge to the door.

“Her eyes are definitely fucking red,” Khaos mumbles under his breath, Zen nodding in

agreement, but I don’t stick around for anything else, quickly fleeing the room and racing upstairs with

Xander’s fucking cum coating my thighs.

I don’t stop until I’m in my bedroom, with the door to the bathroom locked as I swing open the

walk-in closet door to reveal the floor length mirror. Raking my eyes over my body, and my torn

dress, my hair is a mess, and my skins all blotchy, I can tell I’ve been well and truly fucked, that’s for

sure.

But what causes me the most concern, leaves me the most questions, and just as lost as ever, are

the deep red pupils looking back at me.

What the actual fuck just happened?

Chapter 18

Xander

I stare at my bedroom door that slammed shut behind her, trying to figure out how the fuck that

happened when she didn’t touch it, but I’m still riding the waves of bliss after getting up close

and personal with Rhea.

Fuck.

I can’t explain the need that burned inside of me for her. With every passing second, my wolf
