Reckless Souls (Saints Academy, #1)(18)

even more frustrated with myself that I didn’t check the bathroom out last night and realize it was a

jack and jill setup.

“Surprise,” he sings with a grin, grabbing the shower head from the wall and washing the

remnants of his orgasm down the drain, before striding from the shower in absolutely nothing. Fuck.

I’m not sure if that’s a blessing or a curse.

His cock swings, still semi-hard and hypnotizing, and it takes everything in me to force my gaze

away. I’ve never been dickmatized before but here I am.

I clear my throat, wetting my lips as he comes to stand in front of me. “I thought shutting the door

would be enough, but it seems I was wrong,” he murmurs, dragging his eyes over every inch of me,

sizing me up as his gaze caresses my skin.

“Maybe lock it next time,” I retort, a smile of my own gracing my lips as I attempt to portray

sweet and innocent, but the way he smirks, lifting his hand to tilt my chin back, I know he sees right

through me.

Leaning forward so we’re face to face, our noses almost brushing, his smirk turns into a smug ass

grin. “Baby, I’m a fucking incubus, I want an audience,” he advises, his breath blowing against my

lips one second, and in the next, he’s gone.

I stand frozen in place, blinking rapidly as I try to figure out what the hell just happened here, but

there’s no explanation for it. I pinch myself once more just in case the first time was a fluke.

Incubus? In real life?

Why the hell do I want to find out more?

I stand in front of the floor length mirror, running my fingers over the foreign clothing I’m wearing,

and I sigh.

A uniform. A fucking uniform that involves a damn skirt.

I didn’t even have to dress in one when I actually went to school, so it’s bullshit that I have to

start now. I’m twenty-two years old, I know how to dress myself but here I am, wearing a silk white

shirt, navy tie, with a navy skirt and blazer that has gray stitching embroidered around the hem.

Finished off with the black pumps and my hair pulled back into a ponytail on top of my head, I’m

ready to go.

I’m not sure whether I should have put some make-up on, but at the last second I thought better of

it. That would only set an expectation for me to wear it all the time, and that’s far more effort than I’m

willing to commit to.

Grabbing the satchel from my bed, which I’ve stuffed with the gadgets in case I need them, I head

for the door. The vision of the hot fucking Adonis from earlier still flits in my brain, urging me to find

my own release, but that’s going to have to be paused until tonight. At least I won’t have to go

searching for material to help.

It’s bizarre as hell that there’s a handle on this side of the door and not the other, but I swing it

open and let it fall shut quietly behind me as I hold my phone in my other hand.

I make my way quietly down the corridor, back to the staircase I came up with Harmonia

yesterday. Scanning through the emails I received yesterday, I look for the one I remember having

portals in the heading. Making a mental note to go through the pamphlet I got too at some point. I don’t

want to have Noreen breathing down my neck for not following orders.

There’s so much for me to read through. I’m really going to need to make a plan of action tonight,

along with getting settled in, but for now, I need to figure out how I get back to the main building.

Reaching the bottom of the stairs, I’m not watching where I’m going when I walk straight into a

hard chest, stumbling backward, before a hand grabs my arm and stops me from falling.

I gape up in surprise, caught off guard again this morning for the second time, only to come face to

face with the dark haired and green eyed asshole from yesterday. Before I can truly appreciate his

chiseled jawline and piercing eyes, made all the brighter by his long black hair framing them, he

unfortunately decides to open his mouth.

“Watch where you’re fucking going,” he hisses, eyes glaring at me as he releases his grip and

storms up the stairs without another word.

“Asshole,” I mutter under my breath in agitation as I straighten the sleeve of my blazer, and focus

my attention back on my phone, finding exactly what I was looking for.

Portals

To access many points of the Academy, you will be required to use the portals situated

throughout campus. There are numerous types of portals on site, required for different

purposes.

The main one in your dormitory halls will be located on the ground floor, and will give direct

access to the main Academy building.

I stop reading, saving the rest for later since I now have the information I need. I didn’t want to

step back into this thing without confirmation that I wouldn’t be lost forever in some version of a

supernatural purgatory.

Moving toward the black mist that stands against the wall like a door, I gulp, hoping I’ll get used

to this sooner rather than later.

Before I can think any more of it, I grip my phone and satchel tightly, before extending my right
