Mr. Handsome A Billionaire Romance(59)

When Jeffrey and I made it back to his car, he held my hand in his and played with my engagement ring.

“So how did you like the club?” Jeffrey asked.

I smiled softly, I still wasn’t fully over how amazing it all had been. How amazing Jeffrey had been.

“It was really fun, we should go again sometime,” I said with a smirk.

Jeffrey grinned like an eager schoolboy.

“We can go as many times as you want, baby.”

I admired the ring as Jeffrey played with it absently.

“So can we please tell your mom in person so I can see her reaction in real time?”

Jeffrey laughed and leaned forward to tell Carl to take us to Mama Lola’s house.

“She’s going to do back flips,” Jeffrey said. We both anticipated how she might react.

It was ten at night when we got to her house and I wondered if she would be awake or not.

Jeffrey let us in and we found Lola on the phone while she was cleaning up the kitchen.

“Oh what a surprise!” Lola said with a big smile. She told whoever was on the phone that she would call them back and came to give both Jeffrey and me a kiss.

“Mom…we came to tell you some good news,” Jeffrey began.

Lola was quick to grab my left hand and she squealed in delight.

“Oh my son is getting married to the love of his life! I’ll have a beautiful daughter and then soon beautiful grandchildren finally!”

Both Jeffrey and I laughed at her dramatics and she pulled us into a tight hug. I knew I’d love being a part of Jeffrey and his family. I felt complete and so utterly right in that moment, it made me misty eyed. Lola pulled back a fraction and saw my tears, her eyes grew watery and then she pulled me into a tight hug.

“Welcome to the family now, Christina,” she whispered and I hugged her back.

When we finished with the hugs and tears, Lola went into the kitchen to make hot chocolate for everyone. Jeffrey took me in his arms and our gazes met; I saw the love and happiness in my own eyes perfectly reflected in his.

“Welcome to the family, soon to be Mrs. Bates,” Jeffrey whispered with a smile. I stretched up on my tippy toes and pressed a kiss to his lips.

“Hey, you two, there will be plenty of time for that on the honeymoon, you should save all your energy for that anyway because I’ll want twins the first pregnancy!”

Jeffrey groaned and I cracked up. I knew then our lives would be filled with love and laughter.
