Mistakes Were Made(42)

She shuddered through one long blink, a tiny explosion that only whetted her appetite for more. When her breath evened out, she sucked Cassie’s clit into her mouth. Cassie’s hands came up off the wall before slapping down again.

“Fuck, Erin, yes.”

Cassie shook and moaned and Erin sucked harder. There was a second where she thought they were going to collapse, Cassie no longer able to hold herself up as she came, but Erin tightened her hands on Cassie’s ass and held her up by sheer willpower, refusing to break contact between her mouth and Cassie’s center. Cassie got her foot back under her, the heel of the other digging deliciously into Erin’s back.

Erin lapped her tongue gently against Cassie’s clit. It was as much of a break as she could give her. She didn’t know how to stop. She should have brought Cassie to her hotel room two months ago. She should have gone down on her in the bathroom at the concert. She should have taken every opportunity she had to do this.

The tang was stronger now that Cassie had come once. Erin wanted more of it. One hand stayed on Cassie’s ass, but the other slipped forward and then back, two fingers sliding smoothly into Cassie on the return trip.

The noise Cassie made reverberated around them.

Erin crooked her fingers and let the hint of her teeth graze against Cassie’s clit, and finally, Cassie stopped trying to grip the wall and held on to the only thing she could, both hands fisted in Erin’s wet hair. Erin nodded her approval and scissored her fingers inside Cassie.

Cassie’s second orgasm was the more that Erin had been chasing. Bigger, stronger, louder than her first. She spasmed around Erin’s fingers. One hand stayed tangled in Erin’s hair while Cassie bit the back of the other, though it didn’t do much to muffle her moans. Erin did everything she could to draw them out, her tongue busy and desperate, her face messy, slick all the way down her chin. How had she let herself go nineteen years without doing this?

She didn’t stop until Cassie pulled her away by the hair. Red sat high on Cassie’s cheeks. She let go of Erin’s hair but kept tugging at anything she could get ahold of—shoulders, elbows, hips, until Erin was standing. The blue of Cassie’s eyes had changed, gone dark, pupils blown wide, but Erin didn’t have much time to admire them before Cassie pressed their mouths together.

Cassie’s hand found its way between Erin’s legs, and before Erin could think, she had two fingers inside of her to the second knuckle.

“Cassie,” Erin gasped, her body welcoming the intrusion with no resistance.

Cassie kissed Erin’s jaw, underneath it, sucked at the soft skin under her ear. “You’re so fucking hot.”

She added another finger, and Erin took it. She couldn’t stop twisting her hips. It felt pathetic, how easy she was for Cassie. She’d come from nothing, from doing the touching rather than being touched, but now that Cassie was touching her, she was going to come again, even faster than the first time. She hadn’t slept with anyone since visiting Virginia. Cassie had been the last person to make her feel like this, and she did it again, so easily. Cassie did something inside Erin—curled her fingers or twisted them or thrust harder, Erin had no idea what except that it worked, and she was coming, clutching at Cassie’s shoulders and pressing her face into her neck.

They spent longer recovering from their orgasms than they’d spent giving them to each other. They caught their breath together and kissed slow and easy, Erin’s hands on Cassie’s shoulders and Cassie’s cradling Erin’s elbows. Finally, Cassie pulled back to laugh.

“I still have to shower, you know?”

Erin replied without thinking, “Turn around. I’ll wash your hair.”

By the time she processed her words enough to cringe, Cassie had turned. Erin couldn’t help but trace a fingertip over the tattoo on Cassie’s shoulder blade: five stars in a W shape, connected by a delicate dotted line. Maybe it wasn’t incredibly weird to offer to wash someone’s hair. Or maybe Cassie was just easy in the afterglow. She was pliable, following the gentlest of touches from Erin to dip her head back under the shower spray and then out of it. Erin squirted shampoo into her hand.

This was definitely weird. Too personal. They’d slept together twice. It wasn’t like they were dating. It wasn’t like they could date. Scratching at Cassie’s scalp, fingers combing through her hair—it felt more intimate than the sex. Still, Erin let her hand slip down to massage Cassie’s neck, which went limp as Erin pressed a thumb along the base of her skull.

“This might be better than the orgasm,” Cassie admitted.

Erin couldn’t help but laugh. “Maybe I should get better at making you come.”

“Yeah, if you want me to black out.”

Erin hid her smile even though Cassie was facing away from her. She rubbed harder at Cassie’s neck before tilting her backward to wash out the shampoo.

Before Erin could get the conditioner, Cassie turned around.

“I wanna do yours,” she said.

Erin decided to stop overthinking it. Instead, she let herself go as pliant as Cassie had been. Cassie hummed—in approval, maybe. Erin hummed back. It made sense, now, why Cassie suggested this was better than the orgasm. Cassie’s fingers were just as skilled in Erin’s hair as they had been inside of her.

Cassie slipped a hand around Erin’s front, reaching for her.
