Forgiving Nancy (Last Hangman MC, #5)(39)

“Yeah, just annoyingly hot.” I groan.

“She still won’t talk?” Ant asks.

“I think she’s told me everything but she refuses to tell me who’s behind it all. I know she knows and I know Callum knows but no one will f*cking talk.” I throw a death glare towards Callum who just smirks at me.

“We’ll sort this out later. We’re meeting with Lewis in five,” Ant calls loudly.

“Great.” Callum huffs and stalks into the Chapel. We all follow and take our designated seats.

A few minutes later, Jase and Lewis walk in and take a seat. Glares are exchanged between Callum and Lewis which makes me sure that there’s more to what Callum told us. Fuck, I really am worse than a nosey woman sometimes.

“Lewis managed to dig up some more information about the Satan’s Inferno,” Ant says and motions for her to speak.

“They’ve been fairly quiet for the past ten years, laying low with the law in regards to any drugs or gun deals, but when it comes to women, they are far worse than the Disciples. They’ve made it their business years ago and it’s thriving. That’s their main source of income and how they are able to keep their club go-”

“So far nothing is new information.” Callum cuts her off.

“If you’d let me finish.” She glares at him and he nods for her to continue with a sadistic smirk on his face. “As I was saying, that’s what keeps them going. They have a reputation of having the most willing women, when in reality they have over twenty girls barely out of high school and only a handful of them are willing; the others are drugged up so they act compliant. The thing with these guys is that they are way too careful to be caught so the cops aren’t able to do anything. Our main concern now is that Nancy escaped and they’re on the hunt for her. I’m sure it won’t take them long to figure out where she’s hiding. Some of their main clients are high up in law enforcement, which could make things tricky if you go against them. The MC could blackmail those clients into coming after you. I’m sure they only want Nancy back until they find someone to take her place, but I’d suggest keeping your women safe, especially considering all the info we have on them. They are always on the lookout for new blood.” Lewis’ speech leaves us all speechless.

“We know their location so we have that advantage over them. The only problem we have is if we try to stop them before they even think about attacking us we’d be starting a war. Do we want that?” Jase asks.

“Jase is right. We can’t act unless we make it seem like we have a different reason so the Infernos wouldn’t know it is necessarily about Nancy. We need to keep our women safe, that’s our main priority,” Ant states, completely understanding how we all feel.

“I’ll try to keep a look out for any new information about the Infernos and hopefully I’ll hear something useful,” Lewis says glancing in my direction. Any other time I wouldn’t have found this weird, but she has a disturbed look on her face. Maybe she knows who their Prez is too and I’m the only stupid f*cker who doesn’t.

“We appreciate it. If we find anything we’ll keep you updated too,” Ant says.

I zone out as everyone keeps talking, my mind is racing with messed up thoughts that someone close to me could be behind it all and Callum and Nancy are protecting them. I hate feeling this helpless, especially when it comes to Nancy. I feel like I’m getting f*cking paranoid about all of this.

I’m snapped back to reality when Gabe taps on my shoulder and I see that the meeting is over and we’re the only two left in the room. Shit, I must have been out of it for a while.

“You alright?” he asks me and takes a seat next to me.

“No. I’m getting f*cked off because everybody is keeping shit from me. I’m so f*cking worried that someone is going to take Nancy again and I don’t know how to protect her. I still haven’t forgiven myself from the first time.” I feel defeated and f*cking furious at the same time.

“If they’re keeping it from you it’s probably because they have a good reason to, they aren’t going to do it just for the sake of it. Also, you are not to blame for her being taken, but if you don’t pull your head out of your ass soon, she’ll either be taken because you are lost in your f*cked up world or she got tired of your mood swings and Callum swept her off her feet,” he warns me but grins as he says the last bit.

“Fuck off.” I feel grossed out imagining Nancy and Callum together.

“It could happen.” He laughs, clearly amused by my reaction.

“I will bash your f*cking teeth in if you keep this up.” I threaten.

“You do know that if by some miracle you get the chance to do that you will never hear the end of it with Viv, right?” He smirks.

“Fuck my life.” Pissing Viv off is definitely not worth the satisfaction of punching Gabe.

“I’ll let you in on something. Callum told me who it was. I know you’re pissed off by all of the secrets, but it is for your own good. You shouldn’t come to any of our business with the Infernos. Trust me.”

“What the f*ck? You can’t say things like that to me and just expect me to listen to it without commenting.” I’m starting to feel like my Brothers are ganging up on me.

“Calm down, Brother. It is for your own good. If I didn’t know how badly it would f*ck with your mind I’d let you come. Just trust me on this one. Stay out of this and take care of Nancy. If anything happens, as you said, you won’t be able to deal with the consequences. Just make sure she’s safe.” Gabe tries to reason me, but it’s going in one ear and out the other.
