Forbidden Bear (Bear Creek Biker Bears #1)(24)

Telling herself it didn’t matter to her now did no good. She would go and warn them when she took the money from the sale of the chips, which Will said he would arrange. That was the least she could do. That or find an alpha for Wolf Valley, which appeared to be an impossible task.

“You OK, Mia?” Joel asked when they stopped to collect her bike.

“Yes. Just tired. It’s been an eventful day.”

“Well, now we can go home and sleep.”

“Is that all you want to do?” she teased.

“I might find a little bit more energy for other things.” He kissed her, his tongue pushing into her mouth, tasting her, and then he groaned with desire. “I think I might have to break the speed limit to get back to Bear Creek. I want you, Mia.”

“Then stop talking and get on your bike. I’ll follow.” Wherever you go.

Chapter Twenty-Two – Joel

It was so late, the bar was shut, and everyone had gone home from the hangout. Letting them in through the back door, he didn’t bother switching the lights on, he knew the way so well. With his fingers entwined with Mia’s, they took the stairs, Joel walking backwards as he bent down and kissed her.

So eager were they to make love, they left scattered clothes across his apartment on the way to the bedroom. He was pretty sure he heard her T-shirt rip in his haste. He would just have to buy her another one. All he wanted was for her to be naked and to be inside her.

“I love the feel of your skin next to mine,” he said, stripping his T-shirt off over his head and pulling her close.

“Then let’s get these off, shall we?” Mia grabbed his belt and undid it, then the button and the zip, until his leather pants slipped to the floor. “Pity, I like how your butt looks in them.” She slipped her hands over his flesh. Even better naked.

Her bra disappeared into the darkness, and then they fell onto the bed. He didn’t hesitate; her arousal had reached his senses and he wanted to plunge deep inside her. She spread her thighs, encouraging him. Guiding himself into her, the warmness of her sex enveloped him. As he lunged deeper, she became the centre of his universe, the thing that grounded him and made him feel complete.

She sighed contentedly as he thrust forward but he didn’t want to settle for content, he wanted her to cry out his name as she came around him.

His hand cupped her breast, his mouth latching on to her nipple and sucking it hard. She writhed under him, the tension in her body telling him how excited she was. Her fingers now stroked his back, a sharp thrust into her making her dig her nails into his skin.

Spurred on, he took her hard and fast, his mouth on her breasts, while he moved his left hand down over her thigh until it reached her knee, Hooking her leg up, he spread her wider, thrusting deeper, his body stimulating her clit until she moaned with pleasure.

Harder, long lunges out of her and then deep, so deep he was buried to the hilt. But she took him inside completely, the two of them fitting together perfectly as he drove her to the edge of the abyss, and as she came around him, they both fell together.

Her voice was high; a desperate cry of ecstasy, and then his joined her, his seed spurting deep inside her as he cried out and told her he loved her. And he meant it. Now she was here, their lives could begin anew. Instead of two separate people, they were one. In this moment, they were joined, made complete by the mating bond.

Chapter Twenty-Three – Mia

“Wake up,” she said urgently, shaking Joel awake.

“What?” he asked, sitting up but looking groggy. “What’s wrong?”

“Look outside,” she said shoving him towards the window.

Joel dragged himself out of bed. “What, there’s nothing there.” He turned and looked at her, confused.

“Yes, there is,” she said, coming to stand next to him. “I saw it.”

“Saw what?” He turned back to look outside. “What did you see?”

“This beautiful morning.” She threw her hands out wide, and then laughed when he looked at her as if she were mad.

“Are you crazy?”

“Yes. Come on. I want you to take me up into the mountain; you know when we said about swimming by the waterfall?”

Joel shook his head. “I didn’t know wolves were so … exuberant in the mornings.”

Mia laughed again. “Get used to it. I want to enjoy myself; it’s so good to be free.”

“You are not free,” he said pulling her into his arms and kissing her. “You are mine. And I don’t intend to ever let you go.”

“In that case, you big old bear, let’s go.” Slipping away from him, she went to retrieve her clothes. She dressed quickly and then waited impatiently while Joel shrugged his clothes on.

“You know we could have just gone out naked.” He smiled wickedly at her.

“Someone might see. Or are you more open about being different here in Bear Creek?”

“No. But there is a trail that goes up into the woods right behind the building. Sometimes, after too much liquor, an accident might happen and the animal takes over. So we just shove them out into the woods.”

“Nice.”

“Very nice. And right now I know how they feel, because my bear is itching to run with your wolf.”
