Alcohol You Later (26)

“Oh, fuck,” I growl. “He—here, hold one of these please?”

“Yeah, I don’t think so.” Korie backs up a few steps, crossing her arms over her chest and not even attempting to conceal the laugher from her expression.

“Korie,” I whine, just barely holding myself up on the banister with my elbows. My legs are crossed, and my heart is racing.

Cool liquid drips between my tits, and I can’t help but to envision Nick licking it up later. My overactive imagination does nothing to help my dire situation, as my slutty nipples pebble at the thought.

“You got yourself into this.”

“Oh, God.” I clench my thighs tighter. “Oh. My. God.” I’m twisting and bouncing, trying to ward off the inevitable. “I’m about to get offfff—” Heat rushes to my core, manifesting into a tight bundle of need. My vision grows foggy.

Holy fuck, I am going to come right here and ruin Nick’s plan.

The devil takes over my best friend’s face. “Like hell you are.” She reaches forward for—I assume—one of the cups, but instead fingers out a few ice cubes.

Fear claws its way up my spine. Before I can react, she stuffs them down my bralette, right between my breasts.

Cups still in hand, I have no way to remove them as I bobble around in three-inch heels, looking for anywhere to set the drinks. I’m seriously contemplating throwing them in her face when Josh, one of the security guys, steps in and takes them from me.

“Thank you,” I pant, immediately fishing what’s left of the cubes from my top. “You should be thanking him too.” I eye my best friend. “Because you were about to be wearing cranberry and vodka the rest of the night.”

With a roll of her eyes, she urges me forward. “Come on, we’re missing the show.”

There’s only one show I want to see anymore—the one Nick and I will star in together later tonight. I have never needed sex before. Wanted, certainly. But right now, I’d do just about anything for some relief. I thought I knew desperation before this moment. I. Knew. Nothing.

Cold and sticky, I follow her back to our little corner behind the stage, siphoning down drinks like water while we shake our asses, belting out the lyrics to every song. Over time the severity of my all-consuming need for that man’s dick dampens to a steady ache. Still there, but manageable.

Nicholas’s arms have been too busy for him to forge another attack with that trigger in his pocket, lulling me into a false sense of security.

Before I know it, the music stops for Rhett to address the crowd, introducing their latest single, “Pour Judgment,” a twangy ode to the singles camp that started it all for him and Korie.

The final song in their set. I’m so close to relief, I can taste it.

“You know, this song just might apply to you and my cousin as well if you end up together…”

She’s still talking, but I can’t hear a thing beyond the buzz that’s once again bringing me to my knees, this time literally.

I’m on the floor, folded in half, pounding the cement in an attempt to alleviate some of this frustration when the music finally stops and the guys rush over to join us.

“What the hell?” Lyle drops to the ground in front of me, trying to figure out what’s wrong while Nicholas’s laughter booms from the rafters.

Blessedly the vibration ceases. “I’m fine.” I wave my concerned friend away, still too wound up to say or do more to ensure him that I’m okay.

“You sure?” he asks, unconvinced.

“Not yet,” Nick teases, scooping me bridal style into his arms, “but she will be.”

Concern mars every one of the faces surrounding me. All but Korie’s. That one’s had more than enough of our shit for one lifetime. “Go.”

Horny tears pool in my eyes when Nicholas answers. “Thought we’d all go hang out at a bar or something together—like old times.”

Modesty be damned, I all but claw his eyes out. “If you don’t take me to that dressing room right freaking now and fuck me…swear to God, I’m gonna find someone who will.”

My big drummer boy nearly drops me in his haste to make for the dressing room. “Duty calls,” he hollers back over his shoulder. “Y’all have fun.”

“What about publicity?” Anika’s irate voice grows nearer with each word, every solitary clack of her heels adding tension to my shoulders.

She would fucking follow. “Someone seriously needs to teach you a thing or two about respecting boundaries.”

She huffs. “The reporters are expecting you.”

“Tell them I’m sick,” I say, settling Raven to her feet in front of me so I can retrieve the key from my back pocket. “Or tell them the truth.” My voice jumps several octaves at the end when Ray cups my dick. Caging her between myself and the heavy door, I lean in and steal a kiss as I slide the keycard into the lock. Her scent wafts into the air, stoking the flame that’s been steadily building in my groin all day. She smells of perfume, fruity drink, and desire. Lust seeps from her pores, and my dick doesn’t miss a beat, swelling to the point of discomfort as it strains against my zipper. “Tell them whatever your little heart desires. Just go away, Annie.”

“Seriously,” Raven mutters, her breath hot on my bicep where she’s peppering open-mouthed kisses. “Girl needs to get fucked.”
