Catching Summer (Second Chances #6)(37)

Turning my body, I snuggled into his side. “I could never be afraid of you, Evan. When I stopped being in the MMA scene, I thought all the violence and competition would end. I didn’t realize it was going to be the same with football.”

His gaze lowered. “Are you saying you want out?”

I rolled on top of him, and the hammock swayed. I placed my hands on the sides of his face and brought my lips down to his, murmuring, “No, I love you. I just don’t want anything to happen to you. That’s why I got scared with this whole deal with Levi. It wasn’t normal.”

Sighing, his gaze turned serious. “No, it wasn’t. I’ve never had that happen before. Whatever that shit was with Levi, it’s not the way my life is. I know you went through hell with Austin, but it won’t be like that with me, I promise.”

“Then why did Levi do that?” It made no sense. Why would he do that now if he’d never done it before?

He shrugged. “I don’t know, but it’s not something I want to worry about tonight. The only thing that matters is that I have you by my side. I need you, Summer. Don’t let something like that bullshit with Milner come between us.”

Nodding, I kissed him again and lifted my dress over my head. “I won’t,” I said, taking his hands. I slid them up my thighs to my breasts. “I’m not going anywhere.” Unhooking my bra, he tossed it across the patio and pulled me down on top of him. His lips closed over a taut nipple, and he sucked greedily while kneading my breasts. “We need to get you out of these,” I said, tugging on the button of his jeans.

Growling deep in his chest, he grabbed the back of my neck and kissed me fiercely as he reached between my legs to unbutton his jeans. He fondled my clit and slipped a finger inside before kicking off his pants and boxers. The hammock rocked violently, which only added to the excitement. “And now I think it’s time for you to get out of these,” he said, tugging on my thong. With both hands, he ripped it apart and tossed it on the ground. “Much better.”

His cock circled my opening, but I lifted up before he could enter me. “Not yet,” I murmured. Kissing my way down his chest, I looked up at him and he groaned. The tip of him glistened so I flicked my tongue across it, moaning. He tasted salty yet sweet: the perfect combination. Closing my lips around him, I sucked him and massaged his balls. His hips lifted and I took him in farther, knowing I was driving him insane.

“Fuck, this feels good.”

Giggling, I licked his length and straddled him, feeling his wet cock between my legs. My whole body trembled as I took him fully inside me. His hands were everywhere on my body, his breathing deep and heavy as I rode him. I didn’t want to stop, but I was so close to losing control. My orgasm built and I could feel my body tighten.

“Evan,” I cried, picking up my pace. His mouth latched on to my breast and he bit down, digging his fingers into my hips. I moved faster, milking him, and exploded all around him as my release made me tremble. He pulsated inside me and his warmth filled me. Putting his arms around my waist, he lifted his hips and turned me over on my back, still deep inside me.

“I hope you’re still ready to go because I’m not done.”

The next morning, the realization of what Evan and I had done to the patio finally hit me. The sun beamed down on my face, and instead of being in the hammock swaying in the wind, we were on the ground…and so was the hammock. We had broken it.

“Oh my God, Evan, wake up,” I laughed.

Stretching his arms over his head, he shielded his face from the sun and opened his eyes. “Holy f*ck, what did we do?”

“What did we do? This was all your doing. I didn’t realize you were literally going to f*ck me senseless last night.”

Chuckling, he sat up and looked around. A couple of the chairs were knocked over and there were blankets everywhere. The hammock was completely destroyed. “It looks like I’ll be paying for repairs.”

“What are you going to say to the hotel? You’re not going to tell them the truth, right?”

Grabbing a blanket off the ground, he helped me to my feet and covered me in it. “Hell, no. Can you imagine the shit that would be in the papers if I did? I wouldn’t embarrass you like that.”

“Gee, thanks,” I giggled as we walked inside the suite. We both sat down on the couch and I sighed. Now that I’d gotten up and walked around, I noticed my body was sore but I felt refreshed.

“You okay?”

Taking a deep breath, I leaned my head back on the couch and gazed at him. “Actually, I’ve never been better. I don’t think I woke up once last night.”

“So you slept better with me?”

“I did. I feel amazing.”

His grin grew wider. “You know what this means, right?”

“Not exactly,” I said, furrowing my brow. “Care to enlighten me?”

Clasping my hand, he lifted it to his lips and kissed my palm. “It means that if you sleep better with me, then it might be in your best interest to sleep with me every night. We can call it research.”

“Ah, so is that what you’re calling it? And where would we be staying, my house or yours?”

“Probably mine. That way we won’t wake up Lara if we get really into the research.”

“How long is this research going to take, exactly?” I asked.
