Unbury Carol(108)

“What did I say?”

“You said there’s more to it than coming and going.”

Carol nodded. Her boots crushed pebbles on the boardwalk.

“That’s right,” she said. “There’s the air we breathe, heading in either direction, too.”

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Vast, eternal thanks to Wayne Alexander, Candace Lake, and Ryan Lewis who read Unbury Carol a bit ago and gave me seriously priceless advice. Candace especially had to teach me the difference between things like a hitching post and a fence. Without them I’d look like what I am…a writer who probably too often values enthusiasm over research.

Thank you, Kristin Nelson, for being a super-agent, an endless support system, and often more like a sister to me than anything else.

Tricia Narwani, Mike Braff, Del Rey, and Penguin Random House…where does a writer begin in thanking the people who take his book from his office to the shelves? I’ll begin right here, thank you all. And I’ll keep letting you know how grateful I am every time we speak.

And Dave Simmer, forever, my friend, for opening a door.
