Finally, I am—as always—profoundly appreciative of the counsel of my lovely bride, Victoria Blewer, and our daughter, the always amazing Grace Experience. My God, those two women are patient and smart. Victoria has been reading my work since I was first amassing rejections (250 before I lost count) for short stories when I was eighteen years old, and giving me advice that is at once kind and unflinching. Grace has been sagely critiquing my novels since she was in high school—and bringing many of my characters to life as one of the very best audiobook narrators in the business.
