Viking's Claim (Kilts & Kisses #4)(31)

His arms circle me as we come to a shuddering stop, gasping for breath as I snuggle back into him. It’s the strength of him that grounds me after I come like that, my entire body reeling until he holds me so close and tenderly, that I know I’m safe in his arms.

I turn, kissing him, losing myself in his lips.

It’s funny how things turn out. If you’d asked me months ago, even though most of us were already betrothed, I’d have had a hard time imagining me or any of my friends as being married. Una with her Hamish, Ailith being stolen away by Malcolm. Cat and Callum, and now me and the most unlikely man imaginable. And then of course, there’s what happened soon after with our friend Iona, which was just…

Well, scandalous doesn’t quite cover it. But then, there’s no judgement from me. I married the boogeyman, after all. Even still, Iona caused quite the uproar when her whole thing came to light, especially with her stepsister, Cat.

…Ah, but maybe that’s a story for another day. I’d hate to gossip.

Sometimes love is in the most unlikely places. Sometimes it’s sneaks up on you. Sometimes it throws you over its muscular shoulder, carries you onto a Viking ship, ties you to its bed, and makes your pulse thunder with how wrong it is in the right kind of way.

Sometimes, you meet the devil, and he turns out to be the man of your dreams.

My lips find Tor’s, his arms hold me tight, and the sounds of the morning forest and the waves against the shore are the only things I need as I lose myself in his kiss.

…Well, that and another round of what we just did.

The End.
