Obsession: A Rejected Mate Shifter Romance (The Mate Games #1)(51)
“Why, Mr. Blackthorne, what a surprise.” She turned her blue eyes my way, her nostrils flaring slightly before a wide smile stretched across scarlet lips. “Ah, Ms. Fallon. I’ve heard so much about you.”
“You have?” I asked, blinking away an unexpected wave of lust as her eyes swept down my body.
“Sunday, this is Lilith, the owner of Iniquity.”
The crazy heightened lust fog hadn’t cleared; every word from Noah made my thighs clench. He must’ve sensed the change in my body because his eyes darkened, and he let out a low growl.
Lilith laughed. “Seems like you two are in need of a room. Any special requests?”
“Room? Like . . . a sex room?”
She had to be a demon. The scent of brimstone tickled my nose as she looked at me, her eyes sparkling with amusement. “Oh, sweetheart. You have no idea, do you? I created Iniquity so that supernaturals could be free to explore their deepest desires in a safe and completely non-judgmental space. Here, sin isn’t only allowed, it’s encouraged.” She winked, sending a bolt of lust spearing through me. “If you’ll allow me . . .”
She reached out with black-tipped fingers and ran her hands down my shoulders and over my arms, sending tingles sparking across my skin until she finally wove our fingers together.
“Let me give you what you need. After all, your first time should be special.”
My heart raced as the demon leaned close and pressed her lips to mine, inhaling deeply. It was just the barest touch, and yet sensation rolled through me, starting in my mouth and washing through my veins in a warm, soothing rush. When she backed away, I swayed on my feet, a state of euphoria enveloping me. It reminded me of the deep relaxation I felt after a massage.
“Ah, the gray room, I think. It will meet every desire the two of you share, and some you may not yet realize exist.”
“I’m sure it will be perfect,” Noah said, a secret smile playing about his mouth. “Thank you, Lilith.”
Lilith didn’t even glance his way, her eyes remaining trained on mine. “The pleasure will be entirely yours, Sunday.”
She vanished before I could say anything in response, her body dissolving into a deep red mist. I turned toward Noah, mouth agape. “What the hell was that?”
He smirked and chuckled darkly. “That was Lilith. Legendary succubus and owner of this fine establishment.”
“A succubus? Those are incredibly rare creatures. She’s brilliant, hiding here in plain sight.”
“She isn’t in hiding. Lilith won Iniquity from Lucifer in a bet. But that’s her story to tell.”
“Don’t Succubi feed off sexual energy?”
“Feed, induce, create . . . though, they will settle for any extreme emotion when hungry. Sex is their preferred love language, so to speak.” He leaned in and nuzzled my neck. “It’s why there is no monetary cost to utilize the rooms here. One night spent at Iniquity can give her enough energy to survive an entire month. It’s a small price to pay.”
“Smart woman, setting her business up that way.”
“No arguments here. But enough about her. Let’s focus on you and me.”
He ran his tongue up my neck before nipping the tender flesh just below my jaw. My skin pebbled as fresh arousal that had nothing to do with Lilith hit me. “Yes.”
“Come, dove, we have a room waiting for us.”
Noah led me through a dark hallway, down a set of stairs, and to an entire sublevel I hadn’t known existed. While I’d expected a basement to be musty and dank, what I found was something completely different. Walls padded in leather-covered panels dampened the sound, making the space feel incredibly intimate. Red lights illuminated the area, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere, and velvet couches nestled in the corners were covered with lush pillows and soft-looking blankets. The couples who milled around seemed entirely focused on each other, none of them paying attention to us. But it was the soft, sensual music that filled the air that gave this place the ambiance that lived up to Iniquity’s name.
This was a place where people did dark, dirty things without being judged. A place where you could give in to your fantasies and live out every scene you could dream of. A place where you could be wholly yourself. I was already more than a little infatuated.
Noah and I walked together, fingers twined, down a hall lined with doors, all identical and missing one key detail.
“Noah, there aren’t any knobs on these doors. How are we supposed to get in?”
“Don’t worry. We’ll know which room is meant for us. Just keep going.”
I nodded, my heart pounding as we kept moving forward. Until a door to my right swung open, revealing an empty room. “Bingo,” I whispered.
Noah ushered me inside, the door gliding closed behind us. Once it clicked shut, the interior flickered into being. It was like stepping out of a luxurious hotel and straight into a castle from the most beloved fairy tale. A large—three times larger than normal—bed took up the center of the room with a canopy of gauzy curtains. Candles littered every surface, flickering merrily while offering subtle illumination. A fireplace roared to life as we moved deeper into the room, the flames casting dancing shadows on the rest of the space.
Something soft fluttered from the ceiling and landed on my arm. I frowned, staring down at the . . . petal? I plucked the velvet-soft red rose petal off my arm and tipped my face up. A gentle shower of red petals fell from the sky, slowly carpeting the ground and scenting the air with the bite of rose.
