Knot So Perfect Omega (Omega Match #1)(74)

At first, Brian had planned on Kara and the pack being matched so the pack would benefit from her heat. But then Brandie had the idea to swap us to try to bring Omega Match down.

She had hoped me or the pack would raise a big stink about it but didn’t anticipate that we wouldn’t.

Brian had gone along with Brandie’s swap plan because he hated Omega Match just as much as Brandie and he didn’t need Kara specifically. It was just easier for him to convince Beck to agree to an omega if she was perfect in every way.

Part of me really hated that I’d been right all along about Omega Match messing up. If Kara would have put them, she would have matched with them. Even though Kara reminded me “would have” was exactly what it was.

It had been almost a week since everything had happened, and each passing day I was becoming more and more like myself. There had been a lot of movie watching, video games, sleeping, and snuggling.

But no sex and definitely no bonding.

I didn’t know if they were giving me time to heal completely or if they had changed their minds with everything that had come to light. I might not have wanted a pack at first, but now I couldn’t see myself without them. The thought of being without them was eating me inside.

I needed to just rip the Band-Aid off, but sitting at the kitchen table eating dinner with the four of them just made me nervous about what might be my impending doom.

It might have also been the unbonded omega in me starting to wear down. Damn hormones.

“You didn’t eat very much,” Kane remarked as he got up from the kitchen table and started to clear it.

“Not very hungry tonight.” I’d only eaten a few bites of my lasagna and salad.

“Are you feeling all right?” Rio reached over and put the back of his hand against my forehead. “Your forehead is a little warm.”

I rolled my eyes. “I’m fine. Your hand is hot.”

Rylan stretched and then stood. “Well, I’m going to go game since I’m not on dish duty. Who wants to join me?”

Both Kane and Rio put their dishes on the counter by the sink and followed Rylan out of the kitchen, leaving me and Beck to clean up the dishes. We hadn’t had to do them all week and I guess our vacation was over.

“Bring me the rest of the stuff off the table and I’ll throw all of these in the dishwasher.” Beck headed to the sink and began rinsing and stacking dishes. “You know you can talk to us, right?”

“Hm?” I wrapped the leftover lasagna with foil and put it in the refrigerator. “I do talk to you.”

“I mean about what happened… about the pack… about everything.” He glanced over at me as he put two plates in the dishwasher.

“Oh.” I brought him the rest of the dishes from the table and started taking rinsed dishes from him to load. “I’m handling it.”

“Are you? You won’t set foot in your nest, you aren’t sleeping well even with two of us surrounding you, you-”

“Are you going to send me back?” I blurted, nearly dropping a plate.

“Kayla…” He turned off the water and dried his hands. “Why would you think that?”

I shrugged and shut the dishwasher, avoiding his stare that did things to my insides. “Just a feeling.”

He trapped me against the counter, his arms on either side of me. I looked him straight in the eyes, even though I wanted to look at the floor and whine like a rejected little omega. I could fight against my true nature with every ounce of effort, but at the end of the day, I was still an omega and still could only fight myself so much.

“We’ve been giving you space. You usually tell us what you want and need… is that not right?”

“On a normal day, yes.” I bit my lip and grabbed onto the front hem of his shirt. “But nothing’s been normal, and I guess... I just needed some reassurance.”

“You’re ours,” Beck growled, his fingers grasping my chin to stop me from looking away from him. “Tell me what you want. Anything, and it’s yours.”

“I want you to bite me. All of you.” God, it felt good finally saying it.

His green eyes darkened as his pupils dilated and his body vibrated with pure alpha energy, his chest puffing up a little in a show. This was it. It was going to happen.

“We’ll do it my way.” His voice sent a thrill down my spine and straight to my core.

“Yes, Alpha.” I whimpered, my perfume blossoming around us and causing him to shut his eyes and inhale deeply.

He picked me up, my legs and arms wrapping around him. He carried me so effortlessly, and I fit snug against him as he walked out of the kitchen, and through the dining room and living room. “We have a surprise for you.”

“A surprise?” I didn’t know if I was up for any crazy surprises their four brains might have concocted.

“I think you’ll like it.” He was carrying me down the hall toward the nest, and I frowned. “Trust me.”

I loved my nest, I did, but after everything, seeing it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I was sure eventually I’d use it again, but for now, I had no reason to and was perfectly content finding a quiet room in the massive house to hide under a pile of blankets when I needed.

“What did you do?” I tried to turn my head as he got to the slightly cracked open door.
