I Married A Dragon (Prime Mating Agency)(10)

I felt twitchy. Speaking of my current state only exacerbated my discomfort. The sooner I got Kaida settled, the sooner I could hold her again.

“This is the kitchen,” I said, pointing at it. “I rarely use it but had it adapted to your needs. I will show you how to operate it later. And over there—”

“Cedros, stop,” Kaida said, startling me. I gave her an inquisitive look. “You can give me the tour later. There’s no reason for you to remain in pain, if simply holding me can relieve you.”

My hearts leapt, and I almost jumped on her offer before reining myself in. “It… it may take a while. I mean, I will have to hold you for an extended period, not just a couple of minutes.”

“I see…,” she said, sounding slightly deflated. Kaida took in a deep breath and straightened her shoulders. “Well, that’s what I’m here for. Let’s get you feeling better. Where do you want to do this?”

My hearts melted with affection and gratitude for the female. “This way, my Ejaya,” I said, gesturing towards my nest.

Kaida followed me quietly, her eyes flicking this way and that as she took in the interior of my lair. To my delight, she seemed to appreciate what she saw. But that would have to wait until later. My entire body was vibrating with anticipation.

I opened the large, intricately ornate wooden doors to my nesting chamber, and gestured for Kaida to come in.

“Oh, wow!” she exclaimed, looking awed as she took in the place. “This is stunning!”

My chest swelled with pride at her reaction. Floor-to-ceiling reflective windows surrounded the circular room. Looking outside, it felt as if we were hanging in the air, which wasn’t entirely false. Overhead, a glass dome gave us an unimpeded view of Dramnac’s shimmering opalescent sky. It could actually open, allowing me to fly directly into or out of my nest. The circular, recessed nest in the center of the room ate up more than half the space.

“I have built a space on this wall for you to put your coverings in,” I explained, pointing at it. “I have also added this chair here, as I understand humans always have one in their nesting chambers.”

“That’s very considerate of you,” Kaida said, looking a little nervous.

“This is where we lay,” I added, fighting not to lose the battle against my growing need to hold her.

“Okay,” she said. Taking another deep breath, she walked towards the chair, removed her feet coverings, and slipped them under it, then looked at the nest. “Should I just go in?”

I almost said yes, before frowning at her body coverings. I needed far more direct contact than this. All covered in black, the top exposed part of her chest and neck in a V-shape, but the fabric hid everything else, all the way to her wrists. Similarly, her lower coverings of the same color hung a little loosely around each of her legs, down to her ankles.

Catching my disapproving stare, Kaida grima, and her shoulders slouched.

“Right, that part,” she mumbled.

To my pleasant surprise, she immediately proceeded to remove her upper coverings, only to reveal a smaller under covering which hid the two mounds of her chest. To my dismay, removing her lower covering also exposed a shorter bottom covering. Both hugged her body like a second skin.

By the look I gave her, Kaida immediately understood my expectation that she would remove those as well. She frowned and took on a defiant expression.

“My undies aren’t going anywhere. This is as far as I’ll consent to undress to accommodate your need for greater contact,” Kaida said in a firm voice.

Despite my burning urge to argue, I held my tongue and gave her a sharp nod. This was already a significant improvement in comparison. I could finally see what my Ejaya truly looked like. Gods, she seemed so delicate and fragile. Her pale skin, almost translucent in places, looked like it would easily tear if handled even with the tiniest roughness. She possessed no claws, only softly rounded nails, and no other visible natural defenses. Even her teeth were blunt. Kaida looked like a piece of art or collectible one kept safely inside their lair, too helpless to fend for herself.

And yet, she’s a decorated Enforcer of the UPO.

I liked the softness of her long, dark brown hair, the same color as her eyes. They were strange eyes, a round circle of color with a centered round pupil instead of a vertical slit like ours. The also roundish, flappy appendages that served as ears for humans really looked bizarre. And yet, they were cute in their own way. For all that, Kaida had a strange but pretty nose and very nice lips that would make many a Derakeen female envious. Her straight legs and odd feet would take a bit longer to get used to. But in the end, her unsettling appearance was irrelevant. I didn’t need her as a mate, but as my Ejaya. And right now, I was going to revel in the silky contact of her fragile human skin against me.

I extended a hand towards her. Kaida licked her lips nervously then willingly came to me. I pulled her into my embrace, and a blissful growl escaped me as searing heat enflamed my scales and nerve endings everywhere her naked skin came into contact with me.

“My Kaida…” I whispered as I picked her up and buried my face in her neck.

She yelped and hung on to me when I flapped my wings to carry us right over the nest and settle us down in its center. Walking on the thick and plush cushion could be a little awkward alone. With the two of us, it would be a disaster.

Without releasing my embrace, I laid down, wrapping myself all around her soft body, unable to stop the endless rumbling moans pouring out of me. Kaida wiggled, once, twice, then slightly pushed back, which had my arms instinctively tightening around her.
