Enchanted (The Accidental Billionaires #4)(66)

“Me too, sweetheart,” he responded.

I stroked a hand over his hair. “Nobody has ever loved me like you do,” I said wistfully.

“Ditto,” he said gutturally. “I know my family loves me, but it isn’t the same. They don’t see me like you do.”

I smiled at him because I knew he could really see me, too.

In some ways, I wished everyone could see the inherent kindness in Noah, the goodness inside his heart.

Then again, I liked being the only one who could really peer inside his soul.

He rolled out of bed and held out his hand. “Shower time, woman.”

“Now?”

He nodded. “Right now. I don’t think I can wait another second.”

I scanned his gorgeous body and face, and my eyes stopped when I got to his completely erect cock.

My body shuddered in reaction. “Take me away.” I put my hand in his.

He pulled me up and swept me into his arms.

I gasped in reaction, but I didn’t even try to argue as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

This amazing, beautiful, sexy man was free to take me anywhere he wanted to go.

I’d waited way too long for him to protest now.

CHAPTER 28

NOAH

A few days later, I watched Andie as she played with my niece, Maya, in the backyard of Aiden’s home.

Skye had decided it was time to get the family together now that Aiden and I had recovered from our injuries, and Andie had heartily agreed.

“She looks happy,” Aiden observed from his seat right next to me.

Andie and I had arrived early, so we were the only guests there so far.

“I hope she is,” I answered honestly.

“You look pretty damn elated yourself. I take it you’ve gotten over the hump.”

I knew Aiden was really asking if I’d gotten laid. “I think we got everything resolved. Now I just have to figure out how to ask her to marry me.”

Since Andie was ready to walk into the future together, I wanted to put a ring on her finger as soon as possible. I wasn’t about to wonder whether it was too soon to make that move.

Andie said she was over her fear, and I had to believe that she was.

“Whoa,” Aiden said, lifting a brow as he looked at me. “I didn’t know we were looking at a wedding that soon. We just got Seth married off.”

“I hope you bought your tux,” I told him. “You’re going to need it.”

“I didn’t,” he said drily. “But I’ll be more than happy to get one.”

“I’m not sure I want the big wedding. All I want is to be married to Andie. I don’t need all that other stuff, and I’m not sure she’s going to want it, either.”

She was a roll-with-the-flow type of woman, and somehow, I just couldn’t see her being happy with all the fuss.

“I think she’d take the honeymoon, though,” I said thoughtfully. “I’d have to find a unique place to take her, somewhere she hasn’t been before.”

“You find yourself a jet?” Aiden questioned.

“As a matter of fact, I did. Andie helped me. We’re looking forward to breaking it in.”

“What about kids?” he asked.

I shrugged. Although I’d love to see Andie pregnant with my child, I was ambivalent about having children. “I could go either way, so I’ll let Andie decide. If she wants them, she’ll get them when she’s ready.”

Aiden took a slug of the beer he was holding, his eyes on something near where the women were being entertained by my niece. “Who’s that?” he asked.

I followed his gaze to see Andie enthusiastically hugging a new female arrival. “That’s Layla. She hung out a lot with Owen and Andie when they were younger. She’s a nurse practitioner at Owen’s new practice. Andie asked Skye if she could invite her. I hope you don’t mind.”

“Nah. The more the merrier,” Aiden answered. “I just didn’t recognize her. She grew up.”

We’d all seen Layla when she was younger, but it had been a long time. “She’s nice. But Andie mentioned that Layla and Owen aren’t really getting along. I’m not sure why. The only reason she came today is because Owen isn’t coming.”

“He is coming,” Aiden informed me.

“He told me he wasn’t.” I’d spoken to my youngest brother earlier, and he’d insisted that he was too busy to make it today.

“Owen texted me just a few minutes ago and said he’d finished moving into his new place earlier than he thought, and that he’d stop by. He’s probably coming so he doesn’t have to cook,” Aiden joked.

Obviously, Layla and Andie didn’t know about Owen’s change of plan. “That could be awkward.”

“Is she single?”

I nodded. “Yeah.”

“Maybe you should offer her the opportunity to participate in the beta for your dating app,” he suggested.

I leaned back in my chair. “I just might do that. You’re certainly no help.”

Aiden chuckled. “I don’t think Skye wants me to make a profile, and I know I sure as hell don’t want her posting her picture there.”

“I didn’t give it to Andie, either,” I confessed. “Not that I don’t trust her, but I don’t have any faith in all the men out there.”
