Barbarian Mine (Ice Planet Barbarians #4)(55)
“Shhh,” he whispers. “They will hear you.” But then the terrible man reaches up and caresses my sensitive breasts, and it’s not like I can keep quiet.
I moan again. I don’t care if anyone hears us. They’re having a party and I doubt anyone would care. Meanwhile, my mate – my gorgeous, glorious, handsome mate – raises his hips up again and thrusts into me, his hand moving to my hip to hold me steady on him. The spur slides through my pussy lips and brushes up against my clit with every stroke of his cock, and it just adds to the intense pleasure. Having sex with Rukh is always mind-blowing. I move my hips faster, until we’re slamming against each other, and the orgasm I’m chasing starts to bloom in my belly. It’s not quite there, and I grit my teeth, pushing harder against him, rocking my hips even more.
And because he knows me so well, he reaches between my legs and pinches the top of my pussy. Now, when his cock shuttles into me, the spur slicks against the lips of my sex harder than ever. I cry out as the orgasm takes hold, and I’m oblivious to everything – Rukh trying to shush me, my mate’s roughly jerking hips, the party going on in the other part of the cave – as the sweet rush of the orgasm rolls through me. I ride Rukh until the last ounce of the orgasm is wrung from my body and I go limp with pleasure. He rolls us over until my back is to the furs and he hitches one of my legs up, and then fucks me hard until he comes, and the force of his orgasm sends happy little aftershocks of excitement through my body.
He collapses on the furs, panting and sated, next to me. I immediately roll against him and snuggle against his chest. My nose burrows against his neck and I inhale his scent – wild, sweaty, and wonderful. “I love you.”
“You are my heart,” he tells me, brushing my tangled hair from my face.
I smile and cuddle against him for a moment longer, enjoying the sounds of our breathing mixed together. It feels weird not to have to tense for a baby noise – a wail, a restless hiccup, anything. It’s nice but at the same time, I can’t wait to get Rukhar back. Well, soon. My hand strokes down Rukh’s chest, over his suede-like skin. “Are you happy?”
“Of course.”
I sit up on my elbows and peer at his face. That’s a quick answer. “No, I mean, are you really happy here? I know you loved the cave by the sea. I know it’s hard when there are so many people around. Are you really and truly happy?” The tiny worry that’s been gnawing at me for the last month has finally surfaced. “Or are you just putting up with it because of me and Rukhar?”
He gives me a strange look, as if I’ve asked a weird question. His big hand brushes the tangled hair off my shoulder. “Am I happy to be here with the bad ones?”
I try not to flinch at his expression.
He sees it, and he taps my chin with his finger. “My father filled my mind with his ideas. His thoughts of good and bad. I never thought that he could be wrong. Now that I have you, and I have met the others? Sometimes it is frustrating, but more than anything, I am relieved that we are not alone. That you are not in danger because I cannot be everywhere at once. That we have others to lean on.” Rukh looks thoughtful. “And it is strange to have a brother…but I like it.”
“So even if we could leave for the sea cave tomorrow….?”
He shrugs. “I would choose to stay here. They are not bad people. They are just people. And they are willing to go to any length to help each other, because they are family. Even if they do not share blood, they are family. I like that.” He pauses, and then gazes at me. “We will stay. Our son will need friends. You will need the healer. And I,” he says, grazing his thumb over my mouth. “Will always need you. A male cannot exist apart from his heart.”
Neither can a woman, and it’s clear that Rukh has mine. I lean down and kiss my mate again, determined to enjoy every moment of this time alone.
Author’s Note
Thanks for reading my Barbarians! It’s such a joy to write these books and I love the reception they’re getting. Here I thought I’d be the only one interested in ice barbarians. I’m happy to see that I’m not! As always, I’d love for you to leave a review and let me know what you think and what characters you’re interested in seeing more of. Sometimes your suggestions spark inspiration in the author, so keep ‘em coming.
I hope you enjoyed Harlow and Rukh’s story and the glimpses of the others in the tribe. The next full length book will either be Tiffany or Josie. I’m still deciding between them. The book will most likely be out in Spring. I’ll announce it when it’s close to done.
To follow along with progress reports, see teasers of the work in progress, or just to check in and say hi, be sure to friend me on my Facebook page. Also, you can join my mailing list to receive a notice when the next book is out.
Thank you so much for being such enthusiastic fans of the books.

Ice Planet Barbarians, Book 1
You’d think being abducted by aliens would be the worst thing that could happen to me. And you’d be wrong. Because now, the aliens are having ship trouble, and they’ve left their cargo of human women – including me – on an ice planet.
And the only native inhabitant I’ve met? He’s big, horned, blue, and really, really has a thing for me…
